To clarify, you're guaranteed promotion through E-5 based simply on time served. If he had a degree and enlisted, he would have entered as atleast an E-3. Two years worth of service qualifies you as an E-3 to be promoted to E-4 (Corporal). He served some 16 years, through two different wars, and was never promoted? That takes a special kind of retard. In fact, I don't think it's possible.

Mr. Steele did NOT serve in the military. I think ALL POLITICIANS should serve a minimum of 4 years in the service. It's an excellent way to teach the maggots that run this country the full ramifications of war.

First of all, thank you for your service, as a Veteran I am proud of all you guys serving us, however, you need to take a breath and realize some important facts:
1. Just because a guy shakes your hands and says he supports you doesn't neccesarily mean he really cares for you. This isn't neccesarily about Mr. Steele, but is very much true for many of the Republicans out there...many of whom have never served.

That's a distinction without a difference. He was the presidential nominee and he was a big part of the election program until his statement. Hardly a peripheral player. You didn't comment on the racism of the left, though, which I would think is the more important issue. Blacks who leave the plantation are Uncle Toms, a very enlightened view from such a progressive party.

Shaking a soldier's hand and smiling in front of the cameras aren't acts of love. Neither is entering a war that ultimate only benefits the radical Islamic agenda in the Middle East, and takes the lives of US soldiers. Your video proved nothing about Michael Steele's love for the military. It showed him being a politician; don't fall for it. Also, who cares what John Kerry said? He isn't the representative for the wide variety of people on the left.
