Holly shit man, don't point the gun at your face when the gun is loaded. Was the hammer cocked too? Damn. This video was in 2007 & I wonder if you are still alive today in 2009....
Good guns. I have one & its very reliable & accurate.
I have a Makarov P-64 but it only holds 5 rounds inn the magazine plus one in the chamber. What model is that Makarov & how old? Mine is from 1973. Thanks
This pistol will function in both single action(SA)& double action(DA)modes.Insert a fully loaded "magazine" pull slide all the way back and a round will be chambered and hammer will be fully cocked.A short and light pull on trigger(SA)and pistol will fire with slide ejecting spent brass rechambering fresh round and fully cocking hammer. Now if one wanted to manually lower the hammer to the half cock position (for safe carry)it can be fired in (DA) by pulling the trigger till hammer drops.OK
I have a Makarov, russian model.. high cap.. I have a 38 snub, a colt 32 903, and a 380.. of them all, I prefer my Makarov... easy carry and conceal.. sweet to shoot.. maybe I'll post up a vid of it soon. thanks for your vid.
You shouldn't point any firearm at any body, unless in defense of a life, if you choose to do so. This video doesn't follow that rule. Also, I'd suggest never rushing during disassembly/assembly. That's how accidents happen. Otherwise, it's a cool firearm. My wife's uncle used to make them in Bulgaria.
well i unerstand those rules and im very glad that you bring them up. im very aware of those rules and i follow them as best as i can. i will point out though that this was just a demonstration on how to strip it. also there were no other persons in the room with me. also the pistol was not loaded as i pointed it at the camera. but thanks for your comment.
is the makarovs duble action, single action, or are they both? also are they a reliable weapon?, becouse i know that the russians make some great guns.
its single action. semi automatic. double action are typically revolvers where you pull the the hammer back and then pull the trigger. and my is bulgarian but its of russian design so yeah its very reliable, affordable and great to carry around. its a good choice if youre looking for something reliable that will not break your bank!
I think you got that backwards. Single action is where the hammer must be cocked each shot. Double action is when the hammer can be cocked or just pull the trigger. Think of the famous Colt Single Action Army and other older revolvers.
it could be considered single or double what ever you prefer. but in the sense of my comment, yeah i guess i got it backwards. thanks for checking that out. lol.
He is correct it is pronounced mah-CAR-ahv. Think about how the Russian language sounds. I can see how that pronunciation might sound country, but try saying with a Russian accent and you'll have it down. =)
i know the rules bro! ive been handeling weapons for a while now. but thanks you can never turn down good advice when given. i appreciate it. glad to see you like it.
Great, vid - Thanks for posting. I love how simple, effective and relatively inexpensive the Makarov PM is. 9x18mm isn't my favorite cartridge, but it's no slouch either - and also pretty affordable.
actually keeping rounds in the mag doesnt hurt the spring, it only gets hurt from constantly extending and depressing, repeatedly taking them out and putting them back in hurts it, so might as well keep it loaded.
yeah! i always keep 5 rds in the magazine. i figured that with 8 it just might hurt the srping, so 5 is ok, i have 2 other mags too though. glad that you liked the vid, ill post some soon of me shooting it.
from people that are still plugged to the machine that would see my views as blasphemy. im not quite ready to move to the next dimension. but in the mean while i have to protect my family from any one of these machines. you get what im saying?
I've owned a '61 e. german, and now own a mid 80's bulgarian(always liked those) They are simply tough! Not ammo sensitive and accurate as hell! Easy to take down also. It's my favorite pistol. I have a few vids of mine being fired too. Check 'em out.
What kind of Ammo are u using man?

nice mak.. see my vids, got one of me breaking mine down. I'd attach a vid, but it's already being used to show a guy what a real makarov looks like.

cocodapitbull 2 years ago
@JOSYMOL The P64 isn't a Makarov, just fires the same round. It really holds 6 in the magazine.

A nice Makarov!
It seems odd to me the spring around the barrel but the important is that it works.
See ya.

which makarov is the best russian, hungarian, bulgarian, east german, polish? i dont know which one to get
clogspecialist 4 years ago
i would say the russian ones, just because you can get them in 10 round or 8 round capacity. with the other ones youre stuck with 8 round magazines.

actually i don't keep it full i have 5 rds in there, that way the spring is not always pressured down. i think five rounds is ok.
