  • A typical Jewish vocal here (or should I say 'heah'). Lewis had obviously listened quite well to Waller, because he combines the typical Sophie Tucker like monologue with the Afro-American gibberish.

  • @syncopeter Ted, who was born Friedman, but deep in the heart of Ohio, probably learned that accent when he got in vaudeville.

  • This definitely is late Lewis. Apart from the vocal, it has all the famous - or notorious - characteristics of Lewis, including the Klezmer references.
