Very unique sound. At the beginning a little bit like uillean pipes. I can not explain my sensations well, but I hear in this piece something strange about intonation.
The woman in the upper right-hand area of the screen at the 57 second mark appears to be "feeling" the music, as countless people do. Wonderful solo. Wonderful piece of music. One of my all-time favorites. I also love David Agnew's performance of this song as "Nella Fantasia" in ensemble with Celtic Woman.
this is glorious almost heavenly, music like this can only be inspired from above, thank you so much for sharing this with the rest of us... so full of emotion, what a glorious performance, thanks once again.
omg i lthis op much i have been playing opboe for 2 years and i sound extremely similar wanna buy a pro oboe but cant afford and i need to learn to make reeds i still have a long way to go i wish i could have this guy be my teacher :')
Thank you for posting this video of sheer perfection. The tune is a glorious melody and the playing by Henric is so emotional without being affected. This is an instrument in the hands of a master. I love it so thank you again.
I've heard tons of oboe players, and Henrik's sound is really unique and beautiful. It's quite oriental, without being thin and buzzing as is the case with most oriental double reeds, like the shenai. I wonder how he achieves this.
he is using a miraphone or a gordet oboe you can tell by the dark rich tone, in addition he did an excellent job in the construction of his reed and this interpretation of how that solo should sound.
i have a music exam practical coming up i was thinking of doing this on piano because i only know piano unfortunately i would freakin love to be able to play this song as well as the oboe
@polarhan45 practise yourself into oblivion for some years, you'll need strong facial muscles and a diaphragm of an elephant to mount a sound like this. And don't forget to get thicker reeds and better at making them as you progress. Good sound is only achieved through 0,56 mm thick reed minimum, buy shaped and gouged cane and find out which shapes and diameters work for you. The brand of the oboe itself actually has relatively little to do with sound quality compared to the reeds.
Just a stunning Piece! Stirrs the emotion in me..
