There is no proof for 'intelligent design'. We see 'design' because of OUR intelligence.

If a variation occurs that helps a species survive, that survival is called being "selected." That's all it is. There's no conscious selection by nature. It's a passive process. Science cannot explain how the human brain works. Science cannot explain to you on the grounds of its own subjective scientific evaluation how the universe was created. Science itself also uses the term create on a consistant basis. Science is the study of the natural world. God or after life is super natural. Makeing it not quantifiable or understandable or testable by scientific method or standard. Most of science is also based on hypothosis which in many cases can never ever be tested.

In order for something to become accepted as a scientific fact it has to be supported by evidence. Making a hypothesis is the earlier stage of scientific research. Evidence for the Big Bang Theory: - the universe is continually expanding (calculated from infra-red rays hitting Earth from the edge of the universe), and every galaxy is moving away from one another (calculated from 'red shift' in light received from other galaxies). Therefore a big explosion must have caused the universe to start expanding, and matter to move apart (except when gravity collects it into galaxies. "Who wrote the rules of the universe?"
He simply said that we don't know. I suppose this is true, but there is a much better response to this question: "Why does there need to be someone to write the rules?" or "Who says that there was a writer?"
His question is inherently fallacious. You cannot ask that question unless it has been established that there must be someone to write the rules of the universe, which it hasn't.

According to ancient China the earth was suspended on the back of a turtle. In India it was believed an elephant held the earth, and the Greeks said the it was held up by Atlas. But Job, (which is the oldest book of the Bible, not Genesis) says the earth is held by nothing: "He spreads out the northern skies over empty space; He suspends the earth over NOTHING."

It says that the entire earth was flooded (which is impossible). It says that it took three days for God to make the earth and only one day to make the sun, moon, and stars (and by stars, I'm talking about the billions of other suns, which are ALL bigger than Earth.

Tom 6093 there are some serious problems with believing in evolution and the bible. Mainly u need a fall of man to justify a need for a savior. Genesis says there were no diseases, no insects, no rain, no death, no pains of childbirth. Evolution needs deaths and many of them to function. You should put science above any religious text, not the other way round.

@Tom6093 of course you can. there is a religious explaination for life as well as a scientific. the religious one is basicly that a god snapped his fingers and there was life (has of course been changed a little back and forth over the last 2000 years) while science is providing evidence by explaining and recreating processes that has been going on for millions or even billions of years. what makes it hard to discuss such matters with religious people are that they do not recognize evidence.

@Gonken88 I'm religious and I believe the earth is 5.8 billion years. I don't believe man existed with dinasuars , and I find science incredibly interesting. Science explains or has theories of how everything came about. The Creationists only argue evolution and natural selection because the bible is supposedly the word of God. Why would God waste time and effort explaining in full detail how he created everything. Man wrote it and thats why it's contradictive.

Yes, that time when religion controlled science was called the Dark Ages, and the time when it stopped was known as the Enlightenment (move away from Christian, back towards Greco-Roman).
