I am not a Buddhist, though practiced Shamatha meditation -- following the breadth-- with Chogyam Trungpa Rinpoche, who I knew when he was alive. Am very thankful for it and am still blessed by it.

You might look into the Theravadin mindfulness practice -- the kind of Buddhism practiced in Thailand, Burma and Sri Lanka. Westerners seem to take to it well. It is also called Insight Meditation.
Really depends on how much you want to give to it.
