Wow dude. I have to say this is a great video. It's kind of even encouraging me to go for some yoga classes. I am an intermediate surfer and all the things you have said are dead on spot. Great job!
Hey Patrick, this video really applies to be since I recently started practicing yoga. I recognized some of those moves you did such as the sun salutation and half moon pose. On my free time I try and surf as well :) These are two of my favorite activities!
While I am not a surfer and will never be, I find the instruction valuable for my yoga practice just in the sense of imagining myself riding that board on the big wave and sensing the delicate balance I must maintain to ride steady and not end up in the wave.
Loved this one, Patrick! Totally enjoyed seeing yoga from the surfer perspective. There's always something to learn & you are one of the best teachers I've come across. From the first time I saw you teach back in '99...just keeps getting better. Keep surfin' that wave, P!

great video. I have started to do yoga to help work on balance, core strength and flexibility in surfing.

Thats a great way to ding up your board...

You'll notice the thick blanket under the board to prevent this very problem...

it is great how you connect yoga to surfing .
i love surfing, but i'm not that good yet. i hope yoga can
help me a bit to get more flexible and maybe give me some advantages while surfing.
are you a surfer yourself?
misscoldplay 4 years ago
Yeah, I surf when I can. I don't have as much time for it as I'd like. But inbetween sessions yoga keeps my mind in the surfing mode to some extent.

Do you recommend any specific poses to work on besides the ones you already have shown on the video? Thanks for any information.
