Saw Joe Cocker live at the Hollywood Bowl. One of the most amazing stage performances ever. For the critics, notice how many of his hit songs are live with crappy 70s and 80s technology, yet they stem 30 to 40 years and remain standards for others to copy.
@7wallygator Bullseye comment. Joe's musical powers are not just instantly impressive in live performance, but the songs then enter the "classics" catalogue and endure thirty years of Justin Beiber detritus.
@ussAmbassador Cliff Goodwin is the guitarist. He is an outstanding player, and was with Joe for a very long time, keeping him together musically (and one suspects physically) during the dark years of the seventies when Joe admits he was lucky to avoid joining Hendrix/Joplin/Hardin etc. Sadly Joe ended the partnership when looking for new musical directions after recording UNCHAIN MY HEART in 87. Cliff was deeply upset by all accounts. You can find Cliff's masterclasses on the net.
