Freeza sounds so much more menacing. Chris Sabat(the voice of Vegeta and Piccolo) said that he shivered when he heard Chris Ayers(the Kai VA) do the Freeza voice. He said that the script in the original made Freeza sound less scary, almost a joke.

Goku lied to get Vegeta to train with Trunks. Otherwise Vegeta would have insisted on going in alone. He said there had to be two at a time despite him being there alone as a kid, for example.

So Kai, which would end before long, was pulled in favor of that, which would run a lot longer. More money.

@gruntguy007 First and foremost, Vegeta's first contact with Frieza was at this time. And it was pretty clear Frieza wasn't exactly treating him like a dog. I highly doubt he'd threaten the boy and then treat him like a pet. Plus that's general Saiyan nature and the quote is still an utter fabrication and lie.

@gruntguy007 Gohan's new voice is a better fit, it needed to stick to the orginal script because that was how characters were meant to be portrayed, DBZ has new DVDs since... when? It's re-releases of the same thing, and the BluRay sets are now cancelled.
What Kai has that's better is a lack of plot-contradicting filler, and the filler you cite as a good thing to lose was the only redeeming bit of filler in the entire thing.

@aqworldsdare Because Kai finished its run in Japan, therefore it does in America. Nicktoons is showing GT because, well, to put it bluntly, it's to make money. For the longest time, DBZ kind of only stayed around because of video games. That's when Kai came around, and interest in it boomed. Nicktoons is all "Hey, kids like this, so let's keep showing them it," which is understandable.

Why do people even care for Kai, it was nice for them to bring back DBZ for a new generation of kids, but just go watching DBZ which is 10x better. @Unscmarlne No, it isn't. Z has plot holes, voice acting mistakes, and it's just quite frankly a disgrace to the original manga. Kai follows the original manga a whole lot better.
Freeza sounds so much more menacing. Chris Sabat(the voice of Vegeta and Piccolo) said that he shivered when he heard Chris Ayers(the Kai VA) do the Freeza voice. He said that the script in the original made Freeza sound less scary, almost a joke.
Gohan is a 4 year old. Testicles have yet to drop. He sounds correct.

Also, when Gohan came out of the time chamber, Colleen(Gohan's Kai voice actor) actually deepend Gohan's voice, unlike Stephanie(Gohan's old voice actor).
Kai is closer to the manga. Fact.
Kai has better fitting and more experienced voice acting. Fact.
Kai has no stare-downs, making the fighting more intense. Fact.

@FN64Productions ..Ratings were still strong, actually. In fact they interviewed the voice actors and they were shocked to hear they were capping it. The crew also stated however that they hoped to be able to do Buu soon. Toriko was the main factor, as getting the rights to it had been a battle for them and they needed a prime slot for it. So Kai, which would end before long, was pulled in favor of that, which would run a lot longer. More money.
