@levelcrossing1234 This video was shot some time ago so they may well have replaced the bell - but I doubt it! I guess it all has to do with maintenance - and in many railway companies there's an attitude of 'if it ain't broke don't mend it' !!
@Bobcatonline I know. But then when it does break thats something else Network rail can moan about. But then, your right about that attitude but all Network rail do is moan about all the crashes that happen etc. Is there any chance you could take a video of what the crossing looks like to this day?
@levelcrossing1234 Thanks for your response. As for a reshoot, it's a nice idea. I don't live in that area so I'd have to make a specific journey to do it, but I think I might manage it when the better weather comes in 2012. Trouble is, there's a model rail warehouse close by and I always seem to spend money there!
@Bobcatonline LOL! Ok then. I don't mind. I would like to see what it's current state is because, if i'm correct, theres two level crossings in Ford. Is there? Thanks for the reply!
@levelcrossing1234 I live in Chippenham and that's in Wiltshire, but I had heard that Ford was a good place for railfanning so I went. Ford is near Arundel in Sussex (and that's my home county). Dunno about two crossings but I do know that there are two stations at Ford. Check it out on Google Earth. Search for 'Ford Arundel UK' that should find it.
@Bobcatonline Hi, its me again. I have found a recent video shot in October by SteveDD1. I think he's a train spotter as he has about 100 vids all to do with trains and level crossings. In his video the crossing was still a bell and I was also fortunate enough to get a weekend in Ford. Therefore I was able to find out a lot about the crossing and shoot some good vids. It is still the same old bell but certainly needs replaceing!

@daleksec53 Thank you for the information. Not being local I was wondering why a little country station and crossing were so busy. Now I know. Thank you.
Well done Rob! Not my thing, as you know, but, it is VERY well produced! Not that I expected anything less from you! All the best! Martyn-"Listen to me" T.
Great video. Thanks! I see Ford Level crossing uses the old technique of a bell, not a wailer. Do you know why that is?

@Bobcatonline Ok then. Where abouts do you live? Where abouts is Ford? And, I am told that there are 2 crossings in Ford?

@martynpank Thanks for the compliment! In the last week this video has notched up 80 hits and it's been like that for weeks! What's so good about it?
