  • it looks like avp2

  • how long is the game?

  • I just brought this game off steam or rather someone gifted it to me, Is the online dead in this or is it active?

  • @AmericanMonsters flares are better. more color friendly. nightvision gets annoying after a while bud

  • On the first level being a alien , how do you get out of that temple thingy, i see a hole far above me in the wall but how do i get there ?

  • you should check out the alien vs predator requiem mod for this game its realy easy to install and it adds really cool new skins and sounds.

  • Great game

  • This game is from 2000 and to be honest, this game looks better than Black Ops when you compare 2000 to 2010, but Black Ops still ownzzzz

  • this game looks for hard ;d

  • @TheAnthrochocobo no, not css, cs 1,6. css means counter strike source

  • While playing this game, i just added a new word to my profane vocabulary: MSITA.

I did it to call the aliens like that, or whatever scared me, it actally stands for Mag Stick In The Ass

  • Ah yes, this game. Got it on steam for £2.99 Cheap for a game with HL1 standard graphics, (possibly more detail in it though, but good game.)

  • those aliens are soooooo noobs xD

  • do a lot of people play this game online in survival mode? i remeber being like 8 years old playing this game 24/ 7 lol

  • damn this game is only $1.25 on steam today, is it worth it ??

  • @ThePenguinProduction Hell, just about any game is worth $1.25 as long as it doesn't, say, inevitably crash on start-up (also, Cryostasis for less than $5 seems like another great shooter deal on Steam right now). Whether you'll like the AvP game or not is mostly going to depend on whether you value a highly atmospheric experience as well as steep challenge and also don't mind fairly repetitive level design. AvP 2000 is not for everyone, but it's at least a minor classic in the genre.

  • @TheAnthrochocobo The way you spelt CS it looks like Counter Strike Source 1.6.

  • Question if i buy this game does it download a setup? Because i want to download it on to a junk drive then put on a computer that doesnt have internet? Please reply ASAP

  • @awsomesinger06 no it's just like a regular valve steam game

  • @TheAnthrochocobo Yeah, but that probably wouldn't have made any sense to me either if someone hadn't already spelled it out properly by saying "Counterstrike". Not that I've even played that, but at least then I know what we're talking about...

  • alguien tiene trucos para este juego no puedo pasarlo esta muy dificil carajo

  • this was so hardcore back in the day as a colonial marine;

there was no way of saving progress mid level, you were always running low on ammo and health, and those damn aliens were fast and smart (or at the very least the AI was capable of following you from one end of the level to the other, as i found out that one time i ran out of ammo); always in near darkness, alone all the way in those spawling levels (well, alone save for the hundreds of aliens and a handful of predator hunters)

  • hows the graphics?

  • @cinnamonbuns2cb What a strange question. This is, like, a VIDEO so the general idea is that you see for yourself...

If you want a general assessment from me, however, I'd say the graphics are typical for a 10 year old shooter. The level design is a bit simplistic even by the standards of the year 2000, but there are some nice lighting effects and the aliens look like aliens. The graphics are functional, in other words...

  • @Demiath So like, 1.6 graphics, amirite?

  • @cinnamonbuns2cb Not sure what you mean by "1.6 graphics"...

  • @Demiath Counter Strike 1.6

  • @Demiath i think he means like counter-strike "1.6"

  • @Demiath AvP originally came out in 1999. This version (Classic 2000) is based (with lots of fixes of course) on the Gold Version which was released in 2000.

  • @NitroTab1 Uh, *yeah*. Not sure what specific comment you're replying to (because YouTube's comment system sucks), but I don't think I've ever said otherwise...

  • buy it on steam tarkdasmooth für 1,99€ ^^

  • hmmmm, where can i get this? it looks really fun!

  • @tarkdasmooth This particular version of the game is available on Steam for just a few bucks. Really worth it, if you ask me...

  • @tarkdasmooth on steam its only 2 dollars but u have to buy within the next couple of days then i goes back up to 5 dollars :)

  • @tarkdasmooth off steam

  • TIP: If you rename the file FMV located in C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\aliens versus predator classic to FMV_old and cut and paste it to a safe location, you can copy and paste the old FMV folder off of the original 1999 version with the American actors in into the lacation I posted above. Make sure you rename, cut & paste the one thats originally in there first or there will be a conflict.

  • Damn that marine moves with the speed of a nascar :P

  • Just got my AvP Classic on Steam.

I remember the old AvP2 a lot scarier, better skripted, more athmosferik, playing smoother.... there was a marker for the alien to know where is up and down...

Is AvP C more about AvP1 or AvP2?

  • avp c is definitely more avp1. multiplayer rocks

  • Anyone else sh*t a brick while playing as Marine?

  • @NitroTab1 i sh*t concrete blocks

  • I play this game in cheat mode, i can't stand to play it otherwise. It's so scary as marine. I am not as good as you guys.

  • This game was and still is so fucking scary when playing as a marine because many times during the campaign you're just running through entirely dark buildings and the only light source are your flares. And the ability of only using the night vision goggles OR the motion tracker at a time doesnt help either.

And the aliens are so incredibly fast that they are in your face within a second.

The new game doesnt come close at all in terms of suspence and horror!

  • damn ur good at that, unlucky about the end part though, u did so well, already got this game on disk but im thinking of getting the one on steam for £3 coz it has better online, includes the expansion pack and xbox360 controller support. awesome!!! preordered the new one for ps3 aswell

  • avp3 coming out 19.2!

    cant wait anymore!!!

  • Top ten reasons why I love video games!!!!!

  • Is it a good game? Is it scary or something? ^_^

  • Won't comment on the scare factor, but this game is in a league of its own MP. 1v1v1 is really really fun, and the maps are perfect.

  • @YouWatchingMyVideo no its a very good funny comedy game U just laugh at clowns appearing at the screen at this game and making a balloon for you! OF COURSE ITS FUCKING SCARY IDIOT JUST WATCH THE VIDEO

  • @brkolzer lol, it doesnt look very scary.

I bought AVP C2000 for a month ago or something and it was much scarier than it looked like XD Hah, lol XD clowns making balloons? : P

  • @YouWatchingMyVideo well u did make a very stupid question every series of avp are scary ONLY if u play as marines if you play as the scary people (predator or alien) you wont be scared because YOU scare

  • I dunno about that, brkozler. When I play as an Alien i AvP 2000 I get scared by myself... ;)

  • @Demiath hahaha lol it remebmers me when i play avp 3 demo on ps3 sometimes i get scared by my tail XD

  • @brkozler yeah, i know. I get so fucking scared every time i open a door and an alien jumps after me! And when i hear the alien noise behind me!

    So, yeah, its scary XD

  • @YouWatchingMyVideo im not scared of predators or aliens if im playing as marines (what a lie im a fan of predators lol) im only scared of the fucking Facehuggers playying avp since 9 or 10 years old (im 13 now)

  • @brkozler hah, im 13 too XD

    whats your steam account?

  • @YouWatchingMyVideo its my youtube nickname and im playing right now avp gold edition as predator at lvl 3 its very good but i wanna buy the 2000 classic from steam i have more than 50 euro but i dont have a creditcard to spend it

  • @brkozler u can use ur dads creditcard?

  • @YouWatchingMyVideo yeah but cant right now we should better talk in steam so we dont spam the youtube :))

  • @brkozler haha XD

  • i heard this game is freeware becuse noone have the right for it?

  • That is not correct. Aliens vs Predator has never been released as freeware, and the rights are still owned by the game's developer (Rebellion) and publisher (Fox Interactive). And even if those companies hadn't been in business any longer, the rights would still have been owned by some other company (..which means the game wouldn't have become freeware anyway).

However, sometimes old games ARE released for free, but that only happens when the developers/publishers themselves decide to do so.

  • IT's on steam for only 5 bucks.

  • Uh, yeah. In fact, AvP Classic 2000 is ONLY available on Steam so it's not like I could have recorded it from somewhere else...

  • lol that game scares me when i play it first time

  • I hope that the new AVP coming out next month has the same Random Enemy Placement thing. With the new engine, that'd be intense.

  • omg! im so buying this on steam! i remember when i play this avp first time! so damn scary! the best part in this game, is Marine camp. and survival mod on multiplayer and kick ass MINIGUN! :D

    Love it!

Im going to buy this right now on steam!

Cya in multiplayer when it comes out!

  • Certain bits look more dated than others.

The game is super atmospheric, has great sound and is super-shit-your-pants-scary.

  • Comment removed

  • Is it Scary ?

  • When u have 5 Aliens chasing after you and you have zero rounds in your pulse rifle, then yes it is.

  • ...and it can also be scary just to walk down a dark corridor (of which there are many in this game!) not knowing when and where the enemies are going to attack.

AvP may not be quite as scary as System Shock 2 (probably the scariest FPS ever released), but it's pretty damn close...

  • I think FEAR is the scariest.

  • Trust me, the cheap scare attempts of FEAR (you always know exactly when Alma is going to show up even if you've never played the game before) are nothing against the bone-chilling terror that is System Shock 2....

  • Yes, I still have problems playing that at night :).

  • SS2 that is.

  • @Demiath I truly agree with you i mean it was easy to know when alma was coming (hud beep) and avp and system shock 2 imo were some Awesome kicking ass horror games but you should admit that fear was very scary too! Wish that these days the games would be creative and not the same old crap with new or improved graphics! (btw they should remake ssystem shock 2 and avp 1 with today graphics Then im sure they would get a 10 review score)

  • @Demiath yeah that scares me im stuck on the first level cause i get scared and run in circles and dont know where to go XD (add me on steam DL_Rainbow)

  • is the "classic 2000" version identical to the version from back then, or did they rework anything?

  • It's an updated version which has full compatibility with modern operating systems and graphics cards. Also, it includes the extra content from the Gold Edition and Millenium Add-On Pack (the multiplayer isn't up and running yet but will be added in a free patch later on). It also seems like the music has been expanded to include more tracks from the original soundtrack CD.

Oh, and bizarrely enough, support for the Xbox 360 controller has been added. Don't ask why, but there it is...

  • lol, nice.

Oh, from what I've seen it's on steam only, no hard disc?

I'm not signed up for steam nor are there plans to do so.

I remember smaller LAN parties back then, when we, as a group of marines, used to kick the aliens' butt, heh. That was cool, especially at night in the dark.

  • Yes, it's only available on Steam; so you could say another new feature is that you don't need to insert a CD to play the game (which is certainly one of the reasons why I bought it).

  • sign up? you don't have to pay a monthly fee, so I don't see the problem,

steam is great to be honest... it's free and you get voice over integrated to any game so you can chat or call your friends while you play.

I personally can't be bothered with dvd's nomore, I'm too used to having my games update themselves hassle free,

and when I travel I can log in to my steam account and download my games again for free and play them anywhere.

    I don't work at valve ;) btw

  • I for one completely agree. I still miss those sexy big boxes and thick manuals in color which used to accompany disk-based games, but at least digital distribution is much better than cheap DVD packaging...

  • @tieInterceptor i agree steam is great huge vararity of old and new games at resnable prices

  • This game was a perfect shooter when I was in middle school. I always played as the Marines because of the scare factor.

  • The one thing I really hated about both the marine and the predator was when you finally encounter facehuggers... But at least the marine has a motion tracker (which of course is rendered useless by the fact that there's almost no light in the entire game thus you must use NVG's or the practically useless flares). I really think the only way you can play through as the marine is the rush you get from freaking out so much. It's just hellish throughout that campaign.

  • Although the Marine campaign is by far the creepiest, I always feel more vulnerable playing as the Alien because of its lack of long-range weapons and low (if replenishable) health.

  • I used to hate this game when I was little playing as a marine. It was too scary, haha.

  • Well, I'm almost 28 years old now and this game is STILL too scary... ;)

  • Haha, I really want to play this now :D
