Watching this video has made me realise how many brilliant and talented actos England has given us over the years. It also makes me slightly jealous. I wish I had been born a Brit.
THANKS for posting this! I wasn't familiar with the movie, but I always love it when I get a chance to hear this classic tune, which has always been one of my fave songs & I think one of the most beautiful romantic ballads ever written. CHEERS, mate! :-)
I ADORED this part of the movie. It doesn't hurt that my two sexies Hugh and Kenneth are in this. Emma, Imelda and Steven are GREAT as well. HELL!! it was a great movie period, A British Big Chill.
i love this film so much, my friend and i were so obsessed with it for years, we memorised all the words to all of the songs including the underground song, this still make me feel nostalgic.
Thank you for uploading this. I still remember treking out on Christmas morning to go and see it the year it was released. Was, and still is, excellent.
She has done musicals in the West End such as Adelaide in Guys and Dolls in 1996 & as the Baker's Wife in Into The Woods in 1990. She has just been cast as Mrs. Lovett in Sweeney Todd which will be going to the West End after its Chichester run in 2011!!!
Emma, Stephen, Imelda and Hugh... three utterly brilliant performers! I love the chemistry they have on screen. It's so reflective of the obvious friendship shared off-screen. Such a sweet scene from a very decent movie. Thanks for posting it! :)
I saw Peter's Friends a long time ago and haven't had the chance to find it on DVD here in Mexico. This is one of my favorites scenes from the movie. The movie is great and definitely Kenneth made a remarkable job to put together many British talents in a very good plot, that back then was worth to take care of...
Thanks for your high-level answer instead of giving a thumbs down.
As you said, everyone's free to have an opinion.
I was taken aback by this singing and I certainly don't deny that Ms S is a good actress, but personally I think, that her opinion of herself is a bit to high.
Hugh Laurie or Emmy Thompson are very humble, Stephen Fry and Ken Brannagh can get a bit bitchy from time to time, but Imelda Staunton is definitely toffee-nosed.
Take a look at the Harry Potter interviews for example.
Many people give thumps down, if a person says something negative about someone they like, which I find rather childish, btw.
You're definitely right about her acting/movies, I just can't stand her personality. And that again, is a personal thing, and can be totally different for you :-)
@tineblondine just a note... How is Stephen Fry b*tchy? He is absolutely one of the nicest sweetest people ever, and very humble. Have you seen his interviews? I don't mean to speak rudely to you or challenge you, but I just wanted to make sure you had the right person there. He's quite the lovely man.
But I can see where you're going with Imelda Staunton. And I absolutely adore both Hugh Laurie and Emma Thompson!
@tineblondine As you said, everyone is entitled to their opinion but don't judge a person from one interview. British people can sometimes come across as " toffee-nosed " especially to North Americans, it is sometimes just the " Britsh " reserve " . I have seen her in many film and tv roles and she has been underrated for many years and in my opinion one of Britains best actors, but that is just my opinion.
cant have enough of this version, so lovely!

@Majik47 Not really. You do know Hugh Laurie released a blues album earlier this year. He is very much into music.
