I saw Peter's Friends a long time ago and haven't had the chance to find it on DVD here in Mexico. This is one of my favorites scenes from the movie. The movie is great and definitely Kenneth made a remarkable job to put together many British talents in a very good plot, that back then was worth to take care of...

I was taken aback by this singing and I certainly don't deny that Ms S is a good actress, but personally I think, that her opinion of herself is a bit to high.

Hugh Laurie or Emmy Thompson are very humble, Stephen Fry and Ken Brannagh can get a bit bitchy from time to time, but Imelda Staunton is definitely toffee-nosed.

Take a look at the Harry Potter interviews for example.

@tineblondine As you said, everyone is entitled to their opinion but don't judge a person from one interview. British people can sometimes come across as " toffee-nosed " especially to North Americans, it is sometimes just the " Britsh " reserve " . I have seen her in many film and tv roles and she has been underrated for many years and in my opinion one of Britains best actors, but that is just my opinion.
