@antlantis7 the reputation that rats have is completely unwarranted. They're actually incredibly clean and intelligent animals, often are far more friendly than hamsters, mice or other small rodents and can even show genuine affection towards their owners. Their name (ratusratus) was invented by humans, so also not their fault. maybe you should go and do some research before you start spouting bullshit again.

@antlantis7 Rats are adorable. Any rodent is adorable to me(except those 3 foot long ones in asia). The thing about rats is they are very commonly disease carriers, so i hope you werent planning on keeping one you found in your backyard :). Rats are pretty curious, meaning if they see your finger, they bite it very hard to make sure its not a bomb.... or something like that. I wouldnt reccomend a rat unless you just want to watch it. The best holding hamsters are probably winter white hamsters.
