  • I love your hair by the way. I hope to check this book out. I hope all is well... Take Care.

  • 579 likes and zero dislikes?? WHAT!?!? LOL

  • Good post! I'm an introvert big time and yes, it does take me some time to warm up a bit. Thx for the book recommendation!

  • fantastic book! thank you for putting it out there if it wasn't for your channel i may or may not have stumbled upon a must-read for any introvert out there.

  • i hate being an introvert :'(

  • So, I'm still laughing - I'm listening then suddenly see cat tail

  • i bought this book & i'm halfway finished...i find that this book rambles a little bit and is slightly redundant but perhaps that's for emphasis?! The points are really drilled in strongly and it has reinforced as well as given me some some EXCELLENT communication tips & strategies...certain things said in this book validate my personality and ways. It's been great reading those things because i'm like "YES!! I'm not the only one!" :) I am embracing my introverts!

  • Thank you, not just for the book review, but because now I have a video I can show extravert friends who say, "But you talk so fast!"

Some people have serious Silent Bob ideas about introverts...

  • okay, so I have to get this book..I am an introvert also. I've tried getting over it, but I don't know how. I will definitely get this book. Thanks!!

  • Thank you for that little hair tip. I can be so tedious with my hair on the moisture, Its not that deep, thanks lol c:

  • check the libraries too

  • I LOVE You.I recently found out i was an introvert. i used to think something was wrong with me until about a month ago when i learned that there was a name for it. Lol society makes us think we're supposed to be an extrovert in order to be successful. screw that. I'm glad i found this video. Subbed

  • This video is so helpful to me, and i'm an introvert too.

  • What to do if you are a homebody to the point where it hurts yourself and you get "cabin fever"(not as bad as The Shinning but still bad ;)? Please respond , I subbed

  • *runs over to Amazon* Thanks for sharing! I'm just starting to get comfy w/ my introverted-ness.

  • I'll have to get that book. Right now I'm reading The Introvert Advantage, it's really helpful. Thanks for sharing!

  • Just added it to my Amazon Wish List! Thanks for the tip!

  • WoW! I thought it was call shy. So, i guess i'm an introvert or was. But i've come a long way. When i was in school yrs. ago. I could go all day and not talk to anyone, may 1 or 2 people. But now i do pretty good at being sociable. I guess i evolved out of my shell. Lol

  • You know, for someone who doesn't really LIKE [hate is such a strong word] networking it isn't even worth using.

    PS you gotta beautiful eyes.

  • I bet her Myers Briggs is ISFP, the artist/composer personality. 10 dollars says so!

  • love that line "give it some food, its hungry"

  • I'm an introvert and proud of it!

  • LOL " its dry... give it some food it.... its hungry" loved the how you said that ..

  • So am I...I'm glad to see other Centrevert out there!♥

  • What's your Myers Briggs personality, Naptural85?

  • I am a staunch introvert so I can definitely relate! It's odd that I ended up living on Miami Beach, a city that is best known for the extroverted lifestyle (parties, the "see and be seen" crowd, flashiness, etc). However, I love it here, and I do a lot of things alone (eat out, movies, concerts, photography, daily walks on the beach).

  • Thank you! I love all of your videos! Always informative and interesting!

  • Man you just described me to a tee. Couldn't have described myself any better :) I will be pickin up that book. I have been following your channel for awhile now I really enjoy it. Thank you for taking the time to share!

  • I am an introvert too. I want read that book.

  • I'm a bit of a centrovert as well. I have my moments of both sides. Also, I feel a lot better because my hair has been really dry too lately! It's not even that cold in Houston but the humidity is dying down and I'm noticing a difference in my hair. One quick question for you Whitney, How do you handle single strand knots? I feel like they're ganging up on me and are becoming a bit of a nuisance. Take care! :D

  • The book sounds great ! As far as the dryness, try humectants !!! They take the moisture from the air and lets ur hair soak them in !!! They're great !!! Oyin has amazing humectants

  • thanks for this !

  • THANX FOR THE TIP!!

  • I wonder what I would be considered. I love being by myself but there are times when I'm just dying for some social interaction..hmmmm..idk..

  • Introvert here! Glad to know we have something in common! I think that people generally feel my "introversion" or insecurity when I'm around a lot of people whom I don't know, and then that negative vibe tends to make them uncomfortable and judge me by first impressions. I am getting a little better, though! I could definitely use some help. ; )

  • I'm seriously about to go buy this book! I literally squealed when I saw the title it's exactly what I need!

  • Thanks for this post! I am an introvert as well. Friends and family take it as me being a dysfunctional person, when I really don't mean any harm. I'm just quiet.

  • Yes...introverts rule!!! We have a different mind-set and energy...it also takes me awhile to warm up to people and I love my alone time, gives me time to reflect. Yay, I knew I wasn't the only one... lol. Thanks for sharing!!!

  • OMG! I was just thinking the other day that I am a Introvert and being a design major, I need to get out of it a little bit. I am so glad that you did this video! I needed this because I want to network but I kind of don't know how. Thanks Naptural85!

  • Out of curiosity...do you know your MBTI type?

  • Finished it in one day. Feel like it'll change my life. Lol Thank you!

  • Thankyou!!

  • Yay! I am also learning about the advantages of being an introvert. There's another great book called The Introvert Advantage by Marti Olsen Laney..sounds a lot like the book you are suggesting. Goes a little into the brain science behind it all as well., but it's very easy read! It's a great explanation and really helped me to embrace my introvertness! Thanks for posting this! It's encouraging!

  • yea im introverted.. but im trying to work on it.

  • Do you think an introvert can train themselves to become an extrovert or do you feel that this is something that biologically defines us?

  • Just ordered it online. Thanks for sharing.

  • yay for another introvert :)

  • Thanks for sharing this! Great for recent college grads/those recently entering the job market. You always pass on what you've learned and I will always support your endeavors because of that :-) And I love when you're honest about the nature of our hair. You're so the awesome big sis I wish I had!

  • I'm a mix of both. For ex: if I go to a social function I tend to stay close to 1 or people I am comfortable with. I also prefer to work solo.

  • :)

  • Trader Joe's has this really wonderful vitamin e oil I use just a tiny bit during winter months after I spray in the morning and I don't have that dry end of day hair, or that greasy mess because it soaks in and some how keeps the moisture the way it would be in the summer.

  • This book is for me. You so on time. Thanks 4 sharing.

  • thanks a lot for sharing!!

  • Have you checked out the videos on Youtube called, "ABG The Misadventures of AWKWARD Black Girl - Episode 1". I'm not saying people like you and me are awkward, but it's a fun show to watch! I hope you get to check it out! Your hair is beautiful!

  • Interesting! I am an introvert, too. People who know me find that hard to believe because I can be "dynamic," especially in my job. The thing is that I am not shy. I can go out laugh, joke, or present to large groups, but I crave my alone time and actually prefer it to being around lots of people. Thanks for the vid.

  • Thanks for the book review, I'll check it out! It's so nice to see more ppl talking about introversion--there's nothing wrong with us just because we need our solitude! I love people but I know when I hit my "limit" of social activity for the day and the gas tank gets low. Anyway, why have I not seen your videos before? I'm subscribing! :-)

  • I just bought it on my kindle! Hope this helps because I am probably the most introverted person you will ever meet, and I think it has held me back in my career. Thanks for sharing.

  • I'm so weird. I'm an extrovert/introvert. When I'm at work or out and about I'm completely energized by people. I've worked in retail for over a decade and I still love people. I love my quiet, family, home, alone time. I'm a major hermit. if I go home after work, it would take an earthquake to get me out of the house. I love to read, listen to music, journal writing, I am a homebody, but if I don't go to a gathering with my friends they say they miss my energy. How weird is that?

  • @StarAnisse you get your energy from being alone maybe.

  • Thank u! I've also thought that being a introvert is a bad thing because so many people around me are extroverts and I always feel like I can't relate to how open they can be in the most random social situations. I will be getting this book!

  • I like the Centrovert term you used. OMG! That is so me!!! I can be social, but I find just as much fulfillment if not more, in times of solitude. Will definitely be checking that book out.

  • i can click like a million times! im an introvert!

  • I am also a Centrovert. I never knew that was possible even though I knew I was both. I just thought that maybe you had to be classified as either or. I might have to check that book out.

  • After reading the first chap free on Amazon, I have downloaded it my Kindle app on my iPad. Totally awesome, thank you Naptural85!

  • Introverts Unite!

  • @LaVida1977 Yesss!! LOL

  • Will this book work for an extrovert that doesn't like being one? I have been told I am too forward and I see this not helping in my current job and in future jobs.

  • Thank you sooo much. I am buying this book like right now. lol I always saw being an introvert as a super super bad thing. I feel like I have so many great ideas but I never really voice them because there's no way I could be a leader :/ ugh terrible way of thinking. Maybe this book will change my mind.

  • I love to read, I think I may be an introvert as well, and I will be purchasing the book and share my thoughts...thanks again.

  • Girl, you hair is so pretty anyway...Just like you, I'm an introvert but I'm not shy. I like being an introvert. I believe that introverts tends to get to know people better and pay attention better. Extroverts may have more friends but introverts tends to have deeper relationships JMO ;). Believe it or not there are many shy extroverts.

  • This video could not come at a better time, I have a conference to go to in 3 weeks and i was worried I'd waste my money by going bc I hate networking. I ordered it on iTunes I'm 14 pages into it and I already love it! Thanks! I'll let you know how it goes

  • I can't thank you enough. I put this book on hold at my local library. I can't wait to read it! :)

  • I'm so getting that book tomorrow! I hate being an introvert...I'm really bad! Hopefully this book will help me. Thanks for sharing!!!!

  • Whats your zodiac sign?

  • I like your expressions. "Give it some food, it's hungry" :)

  • The best definition i've heard to date: Introverts get their energy from being alone. Extroverts get their energy from being around ppl. I always knew I was an introvert but that really brought clarity to me. When I get off work i'm going home to peace & quiet. Extroverts may go to a happy hour. They re-energize by being around pp. Introverts typically need quiet environments to re-energize.

  • @LuBellaCoils YUP, that sound like me!! :-D

  • @LuBellaCoils You hit the nail on the head!

  • I recently came to the realization that I'm an introvert too. It makes me feel so much better to know that dopamine levels are behind my being exhausted when I spend even a few hours in a crowd. Check out "The Introvert Advantage." I haven't read it yet, but I recently got it and it looks mmm mmm good.

  • so glad you made this video i really need to work on networking i am the same way def getting the book thank you so much for posting this :)

  • I might have to grab that book. I'm not a shy person... I just have trouble showing my true "self" in unfamiliar (new) social situations. It takes me a while to warm up to people. Sometimes I may come off as shy (at best) or awkward. As long as I'm comfortable, I'm fine. But I really hate being in situations where I am surrounded by strangers and I'm expected to talk to them. LOL!

  • I really want that book!!!

  • "Give it some food, its hungry." LoL cute

  • hey i know this is kinda off topic but how do you get your hair to have such movement? when i first find your channel i was excited to find someone who has hair that look just like mines! even though i know all hair is different i just wanted to see what you do!! love ya girl and great video!

  • I think it is so cool that you are like that and you have a YT channel! I'm like that so I will definitely pick up the book!

  • Requested it from the library. The reviews seem promising.

  • this video was made for me. haha

  • Whoo I gotta get that! thanks for sharing :)

  • I immediately downloaded the book to my kindle as soon as I watched this vid. About to start reading it as I twist (and moisturize!) my hair :)

  • Thank you, thank you, thank you!!! Now I know what I am..Centrovert! I am such a homebody, but I love ppl and I'm not a shy person so..yea. Thanks again girl!

  • I need this book for my mother and I.

  • Thank you so much! This book will be a great resource for me. I am so gonna order it1

  • thanks for the recommended book i will def check it out ive been working on my antisocial behavior for a couple of years ive gotten better but this book may help me more im a very friendly person but i natural just like being alone to myself my parents are even like that it comes from my school years i just never wanted to fit in really thanks Nap Im gonna search amazon.com for the book

  • lol i will not talk about it :)

  • You are hilarious!!

  • U are such a naturally beautiful person!

  • *Raises hand*lol. That's me too.I need to go get this book. Thanks!

  • I'm such an introvert that it has prevented several opportunities for me. At time people think I am stuck up or snooty but I'm not I just not good at socializing. However once you get to know me I'm a really great friend and a fun person to be around.

Never too late, got to pick up this book! Thanks so much for sharing!

  • So, this is SO true of me. I got online, looked up my local library and went to pick it up. I'm sure this will be a great read. Plus, I'm starting a new job in about 2 weeks so this should be helpful!

  • Thank you so much for this. Just yesterday my work had a big employee meeting and I was hating myself for being such an introvert and not being able to socialise and or socialise well. And I was thinking I really should buy a book to help me with this, because a big part of moving up is interacting with the right people and being able to do so well. So imagine how happy I was when I came and saw this Vid. The secret really works.

  • where can i get a youtube shirt???? i want one...lol

  • LOLOLOL! You are soooo honest and that is soooo refreshing in this day and age of superficiality (totally made up word)...anywho, love the look, the book, and the mention of facial markings that shall not be named...or talked about...LOL

  • Wow! I'm intervened too, but I don't care what people think about it anymore .......lol:) I will definitely put it on my Amazon wishlist, though.

  • i just love your channels , your personality is just so warm I LOVE IT!!! you give such great advice, Im 21 AND nATURAL and i so just adopted you as my big sista!

  • I'm really glad you said this book can help guide you. I already know a lot about being an introvert but I definitely would like to learn how to use it to my advantage for networking purposes.

  • i love you so much!

  • its inspiring how comfortable you are with yourself

  • Thanks for the book! As an introvert myself i often feel misunderstood. As you probably know u learn to live with it and even love it, but would nice to know how to use it to my advantage.

  • LOVE this. I came to terms with my introvert-ness myself. In America especially, being outgoing is encouraged, and being and introvert is passe. My hubby is an extrovert too. Thank you for this video!

  • @IwanAcleverUtubeName... ME TOO!! Sometimes it gets to the point where I have to shut people out (if I'm in public) and relax. I'm drained!! It's exhausting and people don't get it which is so annoying.

  • I like the YouTube tee! Super relaxed looking and cute

  • lol I just gave up with my hair, I braided it and pinned it up and wet it twice a day. I'm not letting these braids down all winter, unless I redo them.

  • I. Hate. Networking. I need a job and have been told I need to network, but it feels like manipulation to me. There is something inauthentic about talking to someone knowing full well you just want them to give you contacts/job opportunities/etc. It doesn't feel right to me. I bet extroverts made up networking to make us intros feel bad -_- I'll check out the book

  • @BlueLiminality LOL! You are probably right at "networking made up for extroverts" thing! ha!

  • Another good book is the Introvert Advantage. It is such a relief knowing that not only are there others like you, but that there are whole countries like Japan and Norway where introversion is the norm, unlike America which is all about the extroversion.

  • great info, will pick up ASAP :)

  • Me ALL the way...or I may be centrovert;) either way I need this book!

  • you are one of the funniest Introverts I have ever see!!!! =)

  • I am DEFINITELY getting this book. I'm an introvert too and it's hard for me to see any positive side to it. I always envy those people who make networking seem so effortless, because that is NOT me. LOL.

  • I am definitely an introvert and i definitely need to come out of my shell so i will check out this book

  • This video is right on time! I am starting up my photography business and I have two online businesses right now (kinda of struggling), but I just do not know how to go about getting myself out there and networking/marketing myself an my businesses. Hopefully this book will give me some great pointers. Thank you for ALL of your great and encouraging posts.:)

  • Omg! I am getting this flipping book!Ty,Ty!I am an introvert an that has been my montra,"OH ty, that's a great idea i just suck with networking"Because I'm trying to sell my crafts.

  • OMG, I am introvert too and my boyfriend is an extrovert to the extreme! LOL. I will definitely be getting this book because being an introvert is something that I don't really appreciate about my personality. It takes me forever to warm up new people...and I hate networking. Thanks so much for this post! :)

  • Wow....we have a lot in common.

  • Can't wait to get it! I always thought I was shy but I've realized recently that I'm an introvert. Whenever I'm put in certain situations w/ certain ppl, my personality just bursts through and ppl are always like what? You're so not shy! lol. Side note, why do ppl think quiet equates snobby? I'm an equal w/ everyone else on this planet. If I have nothing to say...I don't! I may not be interested in that particular topic. What's so wrong w/ that? It doesn't mean I think I'm better than others.

  • @411blah411 LOL!! That is me too!! Exactly...

  • Give it some food its hungry, lol, nice.

  • ". . .spray it give it some food, it 's hungry" I swear we were separated at birth, totally my personality!

I'll definitely check this out. I hated that I was an introvert so a couple years back I took a job that forced me to interact with strangers, encouraging me to have fun while doing so. It's still quite the chore but it has helped me sooooooo much! Nothing helps self-improvement like a threat to your livelihood, lol

  • Thanks Nap!..This came right on time. I just took a class on networking for enhanced collaboration.. Im currently reaching out to colleagues to bridge some networking connections and I know this book can only help more with the tools Im already using!...love your channel*

  • I so need this .... thank you!

  • I'm an introvert too!!! People tell me I'm not b/c I'm not shy, but obviously I know myself. I am 25 and I know that networking is more than too important so I anticipate this book will be an exceptional read. Thanks for the info. Lastly, we introverts can be trés cool! I know I am... *wink!

  • @ade52286 People tell me that all the time too. No, I'm not shy, but you have no idea how emotionally tired I feel when go home from a day of forced extrovert-ness (is that a word?). I absolutely have to wind down with me-time when I get home. I got rituals, man! LOL

  • Great vid! The Introvert Advantage is also a great book, I will have to pick this one up as well.

  • i will def pick this book up. My husband is the same way. Everyone loves him. Thanks for sharing

  • I've been an introvert all my life. It's difficult when people label you as a "goody two shoes"( I couldn't understand why an adult would use that word) or snobby without realizing different people make up this world. I will definitely look for that book. As an introvert I know that what "we" have in common are psyc books. Just a wild guess. Love your hair and your videos!

  • Oh those pimples. Lol Aw all hate em. Great vid. It's crazy because I think I'm a mixture. Some people say I'm stuck up and some see me as very out going. Idk.

  • Thank you for sharing this vid! Vids such as as this one are really important to bring awareness to this topic to help dispel some of the myths that people may have about introverts (stuck up, shy, insociable etc.) I will be def checking out this book!

  • i need this book. i'm such an introvert. thanks for sharing!

  • Thanks for sharing. I will have to get that book.

  • You're Adorable! Question: Are you still in tge DMV area? If so, how's the business going? Can u give me more info?

  • As an introvert myself, i love the fact that you acknowledge that we are wired differently. As introverts we process internally, our thoughts and how we interact with the world around us. sometimes that hard for peoplet to understand. will def. check out the book. thanks for sharing.

  • It's weird because depending on the setting, I'm both an introvert or an extrovert.

  • I so relate to this! i will be looking into getting this book.

  • Hey kdharri2! Awesome! It's going to help so much! Let me know what you thought! <3

  • sooooooooooooooooo, since you read this book that means you will be hosting a Boston Meetup, Yes? YES!!!!!! #GOINTROVERT

  • @nikkinukka LOL! <3

  • I love the diversity of topics on ur channel. Great post!

  • Aww, thank you joyfulgail! <3 <3

  • BEST LINE OF THE VIDEO: "Give it some food its hungry"...LMAO Freaking Epic!!!

  • Hey theinnercreative! Yes! w/ 1 or 2 ppl, its SOO easy to open up & be goofy/fun... which is how we naturally are, but when a big group of ppl comes along, we close up tight, like clams! LOL, & it can seem like we are 1) anti-social, 2) snooty, or 3) weird.. LOL, but it's actually that we are nervous and don't know what to do... the book also talks about how us introverts actually become "drained" in social situations and how to fix that! Yes, def get this book girl, it will help you SO much! <3

  • COnsidering you are an introvert, you personality is shining through. You like my friend in my head, you know what i mean. I have no idea what i am, somewhere in between i suppose. LOVE YA and your vids.

  • Hey undecidedlpn! Aw, thank you!! Haha, I know what you mean, I consider you all my youtube fam! Oh if you don't know where you would fall, you're probably an extrovert/centrovert. If you're an introvert, you DEFINITELY know.. lol! It's something that smacks you in the face to remind you every time you're in a social situation. <3 <3

  • I think Introversion is the right word lol This is book on my to read list along with The Introvert Advantage. Thank you so much for sharing! There's a site that has 10 Myths About Introverts that you might like to read. I would post the link, but it won't let me =/

  • Lol! Hey pulchri2dinous! Oh yea, def love the see that! you can type it like this: websitename (dot) com <3

  • @DearNaptural85 carlkingdom (dot) com /10-myths-about-introverts

  • I think this will be a great buy!!

  • Hey shaylaj19! Awesome! I hope it helps! Let me know what you thought! <3
