England is way more socialized in medicine than us but they pay a smaller proportion of total GDP than we do yet they still have great healthcare where everyone is covered. The idea that you can't have a public or even regulated system of healthcare that works and keep overall costs low (compared to us at least) defies everything that Western Europe's reality has been showing up in recent years.
They might have full coverage but it makes no difference because the overall quality is so low. Waiting lines are out the door at all their hospitals and the lack of resources forces rationing. Research and development along with every other facet of their system is lacking. (same with Canada). Romney attempted that in MA and costs increased. Premiums in MA are highest in the country. I think hes right to let states handle it separately. Remove all federal mandates. That is what curtails costs

Like what he said about making health-care prices "competitive." There's 0 transparency when it comes to health costs. No politician can come out and say this, but the doctors, medical professionals, hospitals, and pharmacists are ripping us off..whether ur gop or dem, you have to admit this is the true problem with our system. Insurance is corrupt too obviously, but the doctors and hospitals set the price points to begin with.
xtracker3: they can rip us off because we don't pay for our own healthcare, esp for simple medical problems like colds. insurance should only kick in for bigger medical probs. we have become so reliant on other people paying for our own healthcare. the cost of seeing a doc will lower when patients start to pay for visits. docs will have to compete for patients, thus lowering costs eventually.

They carbon dated a mammoth and half of its body was 26000 years old and the other half was 13000 years old. the geologic record is bogus too. they have found trees standing straight up in parts of it which could only happen if it settled quickly, not over millions of years.

How about this. You can flame all you like against Mormons and Mitt, however, the problems facing our nation are complex as are the solutions, and lets face it, Obama doesn't know his cornhole from a hole in the ground. I got Mitt's book from a friend who is a closet conservative in Jersey and finally got around to reading it. I was very impressed. He has a real grasp on some common sense ideas on how to fix a lot of the problems that this nation faces.

England is way more socialized in medicine than us but they pay a smaller proportion of total GDP than we do yet they still have great healthcare where everyone is covered. The idea that you can't have a public or even regulated system of healthcare that works and keep overall costs low (compared to us at least) defies everything that Western Europe's reality has been showing up in recent years.

They might have full coverage but it makes no difference because the overall quality is so low. Waiting lines are out the door at all their hospitals and the lack of resources forces rationing. Research and development along with every other facet of their system is lacking. (same with Canada). Romney attempted that in MA and costs increased. Premiums in MA are highest in the country. I think hes right to let states handle it separately. Remove all federal mandates. That is what curtails costs

Like what he said about making health-care prices "competitive." There's 0 transparency when it comes to health costs. No politician can come out and say this, but the doctors, medical professionals, hospitals, and pharmacists are ripping us off..whether ur gop or dem, you have to admit this is the true problem with our system. Insurance is corrupt too obviously, but the doctors and hospitals set the price points to begin with.

xtracker3: they can rip us off because we don't pay for our own healthcare, esp for simple medical problems like colds. insurance should only kick in for bigger medical probs. we have become so reliant on other people paying for our own healthcare. the cost of seeing a doc will lower when patients start to pay for visits. docs will have to compete for patients, thus lowering costs eventually.
