Advanced Nutrients interviewing a guy who says AN beats all other nutrients and doubles your yield...hmm yeah that's not biased at all. Every nutrient company makes the same claims, but their all pretty much the same formula. There is no magic ingredient in AN's N-P-K formula that makes it any better than X brand's N-P-K.
Do a little research on plant science and the science of hydroponics, particularly how they make hydroponic nutrients. A good book to read (if you can) is "Hydroponic Food Production" by Dr. Resh. If after reading that you still think that all NPK is the same you're hopeless. Our atmosphere is mostly Nitrogen. If you were correct you should be able to get all the N you need by just bubbling air through the rez. Not all nitrogen is the same.
I was talking about Nitrogen, not oxygen. Re-read the last couple posts. The point is that you can't simply look at the numbers on a label and pretend you know what's in a fertilizer. Atoms combine to form molecules in different ways. Some combinations are useful to plants, some are not, and if you give plants enough nutrients but not in forms they can use you still starve the plants regardless of what the NPK is.
Wow, that's just dumb. Missed the point entirely.
Genetics determines potential. But Lance Armstrong isn't a great cyclist only because of his genetics. If he'd led the life of a couch potato he'd suck at cycling.
What is the maximum potential THC of a given strain? You don't know. I'll say it again: YOU DON'T KNOW. No one does. We only know the highest we've seen.
Maybe there is more potential that we haven't learned to unlock. Humans run faster and farther every year. MJ could too
@veggedout The difference is Potential versus Ability.
I have the potential to run a marathon. I do not currently posses the ability to.
Yield and THC content of a strain is an expression of ability.
Potential CANNOT be measured or known. It can be guessed at, but nothing more. We know that yield and quality can be hurt by not taking care of a plant, and that it can be improved with proper care.
Who is arrogant enough to say their gardening techniques leave NO room for improvement?
no doubt AN is good quality nutes, but they need to fix their prices, theres many brands out there that perform at the level of AN for a fraction of the cost.
cannaman, you absolutely can guarantee yield within a set of criteria.
Advanced Nutrients isn't saying if you put your plants in a freezer with no lights and give them their nutrients you'll get 2lbs. It's pretty obvious to anyone with some sense that the assumption is that as long as you don't screw up anything else, their nutrients will perform to expectations.
I've seen it for myself. If you have a 1k HPS, your environment is set up properly, and so on, 2lbs per light is reasonable.
@veggedout AN makes a good product, no question. However an experienced grower can achieve equal results using nutrients costing half of AN. A plants yield is predetermined in it's DNA, making pheno selection key, nutrients & additives play a relatively minor role. You noted environment, that's the most important factor followed by plant selection when achieving consistent yields. Experience, a dialed room, will produce similar yields using the same cuttings with high end or mid priced nutrients
@MintV2 Is how far and how fast you can run determined by your genetics or by how much you exercise?
Right now, this instant, is your running speed at your maximum potential? No? Then why would a plant reach it's full potential simply because it is alive?
Yield is not determined by DNA. Yield potential is. The health of the plant over the course of it's entire life determines actual yield - quality, size, etc.
Advanced Nutrients makes it possible to get closer to that maximum potential.
Q; "Is how far and how fast you can run determined by your genetics or by how much you exercise?"

Q: "Then why would a plant reach it's full potential simply because it is alive? The health of the plant over the course of it's entire life determines actual yield - quality, size, etc"

A: Plants can not exceed predetermined genetic potential. Hence pheno selection, ideal environment, growers experience etc... all covered in previous post.
@cannaman707 i dont doubt the frostiness... But I get the same results using CNS17 grow for 9.95 a liter and Grotek monster bloom for 10 bucks . Canna is the same shit as any other nutrient company but over priced and hyped up beyond belief . I just dont get house and garden and canna.
Big Mike has issued his million dollar challenge, but so far no one has taken him up on it. Glad you agree that the others suck, but House and Garden is also afraid of facing off with Advanced Nutrients, one on one!

True. Keep this in mind regarding Mikes challenge, it's Owner v. Owner. Mike spent much of his life as a cash cropper, he knows commercial growing. I respect that. There isn't another owner with that background. Like AN, they have scientist handling R&D. Nike makes a great shoe, but Phil Knight doesn't win many races. It will never be Mike v. Heath Robinson, or similar caliber
a lot of talk here, lets see someone non biased do a comparison against House and Garden. Never see any advanced nutrients go against house and garden vann de zwaan, to me those other brands canna, fox farm, GH, and botanicare all suck. I think House and Garden will give AN a run for their money. If AN is so much better why dont they comparison with a competitively priced product?

Oxygenated water is good idea.
cleans the water, and creates O2

He didn't say anything about a lot of different things. That doesn't mean he didn't try them. It just means he didn't mention them.
He didn't mention hitting his plants with a sledgehammer either, but I'm not going to give it a try simply because he might not have.

Advanced Nutrients makes the best organic nutrients too. If you're going to run hydroponics you should never use anything else.

Certainly not working for Canna, right? No really, reply and insist you're not affiliated with Canna. We'll believe you. Really.
