  • I love the LB. Go way back with them. Also like Ricky Skaggs version of this song. Another artist--another vision.

  • First, thanks for posting this video. The Louvin Brothers did a great job, adapting this song to a up tempo sound/beat. Yet,the message( baptism/christian living) doesn't get lost. It mixes stories from the Old Testement with Christian symbolism. All in all,it's a wonderful song.

  • @MyOwnHorn Blessings!

  • Is Paul Yandell playing on this tune

  • Maybe taariqtaariq would like it if everyone went to HIS channel and left the same sort of comments that he seems to like to spew! Please let this hater hear from you.

  • Being a "mean drunk and a wife beater" is not a very nice comment to make about someone who is dead.

  • hey taariq it's a good idea to let people be themselves...these two boys mean a lot to a lot of people...

  • The taller one was a mean drunk and a wife beater. Charming!

  • Awesome guitar pickin! (by Mr. Paul Yandell)

  • look at them good ole boys!, faces only a mother could love, God knows what limited gene pool they crawled out of :-0. Their music is very funny.

  • @taariqtaariq Actually, they were remarkable musicians who brought together the harmonies and stories of a culture we now think of as hillbilly. Give them a chance. The deserve it.

  • @Aphidboy Amen brother! The Louvins were salt of the earth Country Boys from Alabama! The knocked out scores of awesome songs and are still influencing artists thru their music today. My favorite country duo!

  • @MrRecordbuyer Yup. I have a couple of their albums and their harmonies give me goose-bumps. They were in a class all by themselves!

  • @taariqtaariq Take your hate elsewhere worm face.

  • @taariqtaariq I guess we know what sort of limited gene pool YOU crawled out of.

  • I remember this song very well. I love singing this song very much.. I love playing the mandolin and harmonica with it. The Louvins will also be Legends of Bluegrass Music. Best Wishes LittleCountryDJ

  • Music from the 1950s in a different time and era . simple and clearly sung songs. fantastic harmony hear.

  • I am 49 and I remember the Louvin Brothers. I had their album "Satan is real" from my childhood and it was destroyed in a fire. This is my favorite song by them. I wonder when it was recorded?

  • @tinayoung2009 I am 47, and my Dad, had this album when I was a little kid, played it on Sunday Mornings, before Church. My Mom, sold it, at a yardsale, when I was about 21.I didn't know she was getting rid of it. My neighbors-down the road bought it. I tried buying it back.Their brat-ass little daughter, destroyed the album & album cover. In 2007, I met charlie Louvin, we smoked ciggerettes , and talked. I thought of that record/album cover with the Devil on it. It was made in the 1960's.

  • @glencoe6305 Thanks so much for the information glencoe6305. I will contact the shop and buy one. When you're growing up, you want to hear the opposite of what your parents listened to, but as you grow older, it brings back fond memories.

  • @tinayoung2009 The "Satan is real" album, was re-released on CD, in the mid-1990's. Ernest Tubb Record Shop in Nashville,TN. has them. You can order over the internet from their site.

  • @tinayoung2009 Charlie Louvin,83, the remaining one,has Pancreatic Cancer, had a surgery -July 2010, didn't go right. He's still trying to perform, taking alternate treatment, and asking for people to Pray for him.

  • @tinayoung2009 Looked inside my CD-Satan is Real, it was recorded in 1959,according to the liner notes.

  • Along with the vocals... the guitar in this song is so sweet. Pickin by the late Paul Yandell.

  • Kenny Charlie sings this song. Or used to sing.

  • I mean 78 rpms..

  • I think my dad listened to them on 331/3 rpm records along with greats like Lulubelle & Scotty.

  • A real classic duo. Not many people remember them.

  • @Hopkins1148 No, they don't, and that's a real tragedy.

  • @Hopkins1148 They are in the country music hall of fame. A lot of people know who they are.
