  • They are just sooo good and sensible with children! The other day at the park my 6 month old Vizsla raced over to a little boy who cut open his knee on the gravel, licked his face and comforted him until mum arrived, not a single tear was shed... :)

Only thing that can be a little scary is when they come flying towards you in full gallop, but I don't think a Vizsla would ever intentionally hurt a child

  • Vizslas don't like baby meat - they're too fussy.

  • my freind knows this lady whose 2 year old got his face bitten off by a dog and he recently had to go through reconstrutive surgery

  • Beautiful video of a dog and baby.

  • I have 2 Vizlas, both 10 now and have always been in my family from pups. As soon as My wife had Children the Bitch became very protective and aggressive towards strangers to even throwing herself at the window to anyone that walks by the house. In the house they are both very loving dogs and would never bare a tooth to any of the family. It's just really strange how protective she has become over my children.

  • Vizsla are just beautiful!!

  • I am hungarian. I grew up with dogs around... when we have to pick a dog with my family it was no question what's gonna be ... I had a little period I had 8 vizslas. (the baby vizslas with bright blue eyes are the most beauty creatures in the universe) my dad was against dogs very bad, but after a week he liked the dog better than me (and vica-versa :) in good hands he is the most smart dog ever!

  • At 0:27 onward, the baby screamed and screamed and demanded the dog to come back and lick him some more :)

  • I wasn't so sure if that was a distressed squeak or a happy squeak.

  • I was thinking that not many mums would let a dog lick their baby's face... and then I hear your comment about mums freaking out.

  • Yes - you have to ignore him and not make a big deal when you greet him - as extremely painful that may seem :) He should grow out of that by two...is he still young?

  • When our vizsla is too happy he starts peeing in the floor, any tips?

  • @TheWezel1995 try taking out for a toilet break before it meets new people?

  • Oh we did that a lot of times

  • @TheWezel1995 Keep him sad! (I'm kidding):) I think there is nothing to do.:(

  • Yeah, ah well.... :p The dog is still awesome. I don't care to clean up for him

  • @TheWezel1995

I love my vizsla too. I don't care if he erodes everithing. :) His name is Avar. He is a really bad but smart dog.

When I'm colleticting the pieces of his "preys" he always plays ninja and try to be invisible.:)

  • hahaha :p My dogs name is ''VIto'' (after the godfather) Don't know why my father chose that name. In my opinion his name should've been Frodo xD

  • so cute

  • this breed is wonderful with children!

  • Midgy <3 <3 :))

  • Dogs kissing babies. Lets take a bacteria swab or your hands right now and a swab of the dogs mouth. Guess which is more disgusting. public doors, store shelves, shared work computers, ect. Folks do not wash their hands.... EWWWWW. Give me a dog kiss any day.

  • @Rhondi8 ...well sad!

  • Typical Vizsla. Lovey-dovey!

  • I am also owned by a Vizsla named Annie. her whole body wiggles when she's excied, we often call her Princess Wiggle Butt. She sounds off like a war siren if someone is at the door, or if someone passes by my car while we're in it. Truth be told though, if I let someone in the house, she becomes an instant greeter "Hi how are you, nice to meet you, sorry I was so loud". When I take her for walks she loves to meet new people or animals, especially cats-with their permission of course.

  • @missybeeotch I used to own a Vizsla named Jaz she was the exact same and a giant ball of energy, if we hadn't taken her for a walk yet she'd run up and down the garden as if she were doing laps and never tire out.

  • Peaple that put negative comments on this ar dicks! What a great first meeting! Lovely vid look how happy and excited the baby and viz ar! To the poster happy days great dog!

  • gorgeous baby but it disgusts me so bad to see that dog licking the baby's mouth urghhhh thats gross poor baby

  • @debbyzinha1000

The truth be told: a human mouth harbors more bacteria than a dog mouth. I would rather be bit by a dog than bit by a human.

  • @nuprofessor I believe that's a myth, but it doesn't matter, you are not changing my mind and I don't care about changing yours I just gave my opinion.

  • I am proudly owned by a viszla with a 5 month old baby. I never once have had a ounce of worry with my 5yr old viszla being around my new son. Best dog in the world by far in my opinion. I told my wife is she ever left me she can have everything but Penny (my viszla)!

    Great Video!

  • @cbart29

"I told my wife is she ever left me she can have everything but Penny (my viszla)!"

    I feel you!

  • Sooo CUTE, I have a 5 yr old Vizsla (Daisy Mae) & a 5 mo old Boxer (Jasmine), Daisy Mae still can out last the boxer puppy when it comes to playing. Daisy is amazing with my 3 & 5 mo old grandsons. Vizsla's are an wonderful loving breed, give them the space to run and they are happy dogs :)

  • we have a vizsla too he is a boy and his name is finn

  • Sweet dog. Noisy baby.

  • people can shut it i think this is sooo cute!!

  • ...you better not cry, you better not pout I'm telling you why....

  • @jegerbosto I agree and disagree. If you know your pet and know their body signals, and know their temperment, then you will be able to know if they can be around small kids. I grew up with a black lab when I was a child that adored me. However, I also agree that it is still an animal linked to a wolf and thus still has a inner wild that can make itself known at any moment.

  • @berky1976 yep... your right ... and some humans linked to the apes too...

  • @jegerbosto

Obviously you've never had a Vizsla

  • @jegerbosto

you're right. the infant might dirty the dog!

  • @jegerbosto WOW lighten up

  • @jegerbosto totally agree, esspecially if its not your baby

  • @jegerbosto We're animals too and it sounds like you shouldn't be let near an infant more than any dog :)

  • @jegerbosto

you sir, are a dumbass. These dogs dont have an aggressive bone in their bodies. In 15 years of Vizsla ownership I have yet to witness aggressive behavior of any sort from these dogs. Go find something better to do you half-wit

  • @jegerbosto Vizsla are one of the best dogs for infants of a family. I would trust my kid with my dog than most kids or immature adults even.

  • @jegerbosto I agree with you. I too am a dog owner, owner, and I them to death, but this was just not a good idea. Especially if this was the first meeting. I don't mean to be a killjoy everyone, but the baby could have poked the dog in the eye, or anything really, and resulted in the dog snapping back.

  • @genungapearl

you apparently have never owned a Vizsla. These dogs do not possess a mean bone in their body- not to say they can not be made mean by harsh treatment. As several other have stated- I felt more comfortable leaving my kids with my Vizsla than I would with most adults.

And incase you are wondering... Yes I own THREE of them at present- Max, Sophie, and Bebe. And have owned EIGHT in the last 30 years.

  • @jegerbosto

we have vizslas sice i was born. now 22 years and we never had a vizsla who dont love kids all vizslas of friends and we have through te years are just happy to see kids dont matter the age.

they are really always happy dogs. they like to play and hug with you whenever you want.

  • @jegerbosto agree

  • @jegerbosto You may be a "dog Owner", and that is the problem. You own a dog. That is completely different from having a dog as a member of your family. A few years ago, we had a cookout in our neighborhood. The mother of a baby left her on a blanket on the lawn, while she "went for a walk". I had a Huskie, back then. She laid down next to the baby until the mother came back. I now have a Vizsla. You just don't know dogs. Or, maybe you abuse them? Is that why you don't trust them? =Stefan=

  • @chengloki Hear, hear... you speak the truth!

  • @chengloki well said my friend. I would trust my dog with my life. Vizsla's are totally family orientated

  • @jegerbosto same goes for us humans, we are animals..always have been and always will be,does that mean we can never mix?

  • @jegerbosto Oh pfffff blow it out your ass mate and grow a nutsack

  • @jegerbosto that dog doesn't have an evil bone in its body. but to you, every single animal is dangerous. I would hate to be your kid. Nice sheltered life he/she will live.

  • @jegerbosto Absolutely correct comment. I don't understand why people voted it down. I have a dog myself and I adore him, but I would never let him lick the face of a baby. It is unhygienic. You are right animals are animals.

  • dogs if dewormed(which you must do, if you dont, you're the one unhygienic) are less dangerous than humans spreading diseases. thats an ignorant statement you made

  • I LOVE THIS! We have a Wirehaired Vizsla and 3 children under 5 years old and he loves them and often behaves like this. He is the most gentle soul around the children and the best family dog to have! And as for hygeine - it's great for kids immune systems to be exposed to pets like this. My kids have no allergies/asthma/excema and are hardly ever ill.

  • Fabulous fabulous fabulous! I love it!!!!!!!!!!! I have two Vizslas they are such fantastic. I can't wait till we have children of our own and introduce theM!

  • great dogs

  • After he licks his ass and balls, you let him lick your face. Borat: verryy nice!

  • I have owned Vizslas for years. Matter of fact I have two right now. I believe there is probably not a better dog to have around children. My boys grew up with ours. And protective is not a strong enough word to describe the attachment the Vizsla had with them.

  • I'm hungarian, live in NYC. My boss has a vizsla. Amazing how people are reacting to them. They are always upbeat, they have lots of love to give and wouldn't hurt anybody for anything - but at the same time very alert and protective if necessary. I trust my life to him, and he loves me, doesn't matter what. Many times it really sucks to be "magyar" but in this case, I always feel proud.

  • @enikavicsos when does it suck to be hungarian?

never have i been depressed about my nationality....

  • @enikavicsos I completely understand...I have two and one is obsessive protective of me but not with people but other dogs. I have to warn other dog owners my V doesn't need to say "hi"..which so many people think their dogs should meet mine.

  • @enikavicsos as an american and magyar i have always been proud of my Hungarian heritage. Vizsla's are just one thing of a million that make Hungary great!

  • Hi!

And Vizslas are from Hungary, I live there in Budapest. Their full name is Hungarian Vizsla, and they are real hunting dogs, they are clever, very very cute, vizsla can make anytime a smlie on your face, bring the good mood in your everyday!:) Every vizsla has a crazy personality inside, a real child:) Im very proud of them!

  • It would suck if my cousins got a reality check! Their Vizsla is disodedient!

  • This is so beautiful.

  • vizsla's are such sweet dogs! i luv em.

  • THAT WAS ADORABLE. I love that the baby was totally freaking out...like come back and liiiiiiick me!!!

  • EALGG, I was confused too. It looks as though the baby was freaking out because the dog is going away instead of freaking out because the dog licked him.

  • Wow thats some real trust!

  • Thats a Vizsla for you. their all trustworthy

  • Too Cute!

  • omg my vizsla does the same thing to babies.

  • dogs have cleaner mouths than humans

  • Do they really?

  • ya it was on mythbusters.. dogs have more bacteria killing cells (forgot what it was actually called). So thats why dogs can put so much shit into thier mouths without getting sick

  • @Luke13PL im sure they do, specially after they lick their balls when they pee =)

  • seriously a dog licking a baby isnt much of a problem its called THATS WHAT DOGS DO and its called PEOPLE TAKE SHOWERS...well i dont expect you to know that "bunsofmolybdenum" cause you probably dont take any.

  • oh wow niiiiiiiiiiice one:P Lol... what a lovely comment:P.

  • personal insults - real mature. is this the baby typing or the parents? also i didnt listen to hip hop

  • Any idea where I can get myself a Vizsla living in Hawaii?

  • do a google search for viszla breeder hawaii

  • pelletiercook, if you go near the dogs bowl when he is eating and add a biscuit, he will then understand that it is not threatning when someone goes near his food. ( cute video :), )

  • I agree with Pelletiercook about the problem of growling over food around little kids. Its best to train pups by keeping your face right next to them while they eat and chew toys, do it when their pups so they can't hurt you, and they get used to it, and they don't develop behaviors where they think they own everything you give them, that's when over-protectiveness is cultured and could lead to hostility if say small child wants to play with dog toy and no adults are around to supervise

  • the baby wants some more kissu kissu..(0 x <)

  • omg so cute (both of them)

  • That's awesome! I'm pregnant with our first baby and we've actually been a bit worried about how Boss will be with a baby in the house - he gets pretty grumpy if you go near him while he's eating or chewing a bone. We'll probably just have to keep them apart in those situations, but this does give me some hope! and kudos to the mom who wasn't freaking out.

  • I think you should work with your dog now to stop that behaviour instead of trying to keep them apart in certain situation. Get Boss used to have his bowl of food taken away from him in the middle of each meal. Don't let him growl. Then give him back his food when he does not growl (rewarding good behaviour). He will soon get the idea that food that is taken away eventually comes back. Viszla are very clever dogs but need training. Good luck with the baby!

  • Definitely the best dog to have around kids...

  • No!!!!Definitely the best dog in the world!:-)

  • Kaimeno mwro... tha kollisei sifili twra

  • French kissing? hygienic?

Who knows what that baby has been licking.

  • How sweet she is!!!!!!!!

  • It's just like Alma. After a good 8 hrs hunt she still manages to find some energy for playing fetch with her ball. :)

  • She is gorgeous! Typical vizsla behavior. How old is she?

  • Hi, thanks we love her! She'll be a year in a couple of weeks. Do you have one?

  • Yes I do. Our vizsla girl called Alma and she just turned 10 months old a few days ago. She is extremely spoilt but we actively hunt with her and are getting ready for hunting and working exams as well so she deserves everything she wants. :)

  • I know what you mean. Midgy's parents were both solid hunting/field training dogs. I've had her partridge hunting a couple of times, but she is not receiving structured training. I mainly run with her in the bush. The only time I ever see her getting remotely tired is after a 3 hour run. Anything less and she's raring for more!

  • @relicupnorth i hav a visla but she's scared of strangers

  • @judeyw thats a good name for ur pup.
