actually the cap is still a good idea. even with a power master 180 alt dual 4 gauge power wires and a dual battery setup a 1 farad cap still stiffens it up quite a bit.

Because what does a cap need to do?....it needs to charge so it just one more thing the alternator has to keep charged which would stress the alt. even more than ever. yea typically 500rms is when voltage will fluctuate, but i always start off with the big three then a upgraded alt. becuase if i got the battery first then that would be like running a cap. The original alt may not be able to keep up with charging another battery

Purpledrank is right. You don't use fucking caps. If you have enough power to where you think you need a cap. You upgrade your Big 3, Your alternator, a yellow top battery and maybe one or more for just the system it's self. I don't hate on mainstream audio stuff. Kicker and RE both have amazing subs with the correct setups. I personally use Fi and DC. But I've owned kicker stuff before. Everyone needs to learn their facts. And caps are like mini batteries. They store energy to prevent dimming.

It is by far less essential than running a deep cycle battery, doing a big 3 upgrade, and respinning your alternator. In case you didn't know, you can increase your alternator's current output by respinning it. And you're right, a deep cycle battery will get a voltage drop from a 100A current draw, but a power cap won't save it. So sorry sis, I mean bro, caps aren't the savers of car audio.
