This album is SO organic, you can hear the drops of sweat the musicians shed over it, just like in the 20s - 80s. So much raw emotion and genuine expression!
Shagrath never let Mustis and Vortex do their job. Being the faggot he is, Shagrath wants to be the only one who shines on stage, Eventhough his vocals suck big time. If it wasnt for these two guys + Galder, Dimmu would've remain an obscure extreme metal band. What a fucking shame.
I just realised that maybe, this song actually speaks about the turmoils and triumps through his musical career, potrayed through this song as the restless sea that is the musical world and the storms musicians can face along their way. Maybe most noteably from what happend in Dimmu Borgir, but maybe much more than that. And him looking onward towards the horizons of what lie before him in the future of his career. I hope the storm doesn't get too tough for him. Goooo Vortex
@DeadlyRose1 Dimmu Borgir throw him out. And I wouldn't say this is a rock band. It's just a different kind of metal. It's a place where he can expand his awesome talent and we can hear it. His bass playing is incredible and his voice is excellent.
@lbGuillaume This is progressive rock, it's not metal at all, but to be honest progressive rock is the only sub-genre of rock that's actually good. It avoids the typical verse-chorus-verse structure, and it requires real talent and knowledge about music in general (not just rock and metal). It can be technically and vocally very demanding, and that's why it's so great. I'm usually a metalhead, but I'm not ashamed to say I also love this.
@satyrludi I usually don't listen to this kind of music, I'm more with Amon Amarth, Quo Vadis, Brain Drill, Arch Enemy... very far away from this, but this, this is just awesome. Thanks for your comment, I learned!
@RisedWithDusk , He does play bass on this album(and he's very good at it), but he hired Steinar Gunderson (who is very talented too) to play the bass on future live shows.
Yeah Dimmu Borgir is so much obsessed by money that real good musicians such Mustis and Vortex had been fired from the band,but...that's good since awesome musicians have nothing to do with money!
@DeadlyRose1 Ah well yeah this is different, i'm actually glad it's not symphonic black metal and he pretty much kept everything real with this album. Even if it is just rock-ish type music.

@RomanuDeRand You're just saying that because they kicked them out. And it wasn't just Shagrath's decision just so you know. You're kind of a moron.

@DavidDecapitation Vortex and Mustis were the only good things about Dimmu Borgir in the firstplace regardless. In other words, fuck Dimmu Borgir.

@lbGuillaume Its not metal, more like folk rock (or later Iron Maiden stuff, like Isle of Avalon). Its still good for what it is.

@DeadlyRose1 Something wrong with "Rock" music? or does he need to be playing second fiddle to some screaming faggot?

@Eospag No, I just find it strange how he could've made such a big transition is all.
