when I put it all the way up slapping is way more "slappy"

for me, the tone knob is pretty much Treble control, notice that when the tone knob is up all the way you get a more "tinny" or high frequency sound.

whereas if you have tone down on 0 everythings alot more rounded and bassy?

tone is annoying, i prefer to use the tone on an amp kuz you can only cut cretan frequencys and you cant boost anything if you have active pre's tho then it is usefull
