If they clamp your car, call a locksmith to take the clamp of... A lot cheaper and legal.

As long as you do not damage the clamp you can do whatever you want, after all it's your car. A locksmith would take it of in less than 1 min.

If anyone tell you different, call the local police station and ask them. They will tell you the same, take it off but DO NOT damage the clamp. That would be a criminal offence.

I am sure that most locksmiths would take it off for free...
