For that reason, and for the reason you also have to bring a standard controller, plug it in and then find a place to prop the N64 assembly in order to play a game, I do not consider it portable. My vote goes to the other portable N64 units shown on here, and not this one. Not any rip on the maker, just not what I would choose if given a choice of units to pick from.

Alternatively if ur willing to sacrifice a plastic pen, get a lighter or matches, heat the end of the pen then quickly put the hot end of pen on one of the screws, the pen cools in the permanent shape of a n64 screw
