I feel like this may or may not be a dumb question ahah but Do you have any tips on how to stay on? I just got my horse last year and hes a bit spooky and he does a lot and i fall, I'm a beginnerish rider and i was just wondering. Thanks :)

@windcaller Not a dumb question at all!! You just need to develop your seat - sitting into the horse - my good friend has a term about putting your feet on the floor which I find is a good mental image. Always ride with your legs forward (or underneath you) and your heels down. Then its about having enough spinal mobility so you can absorb the sudden movement and enough core strength to stop you from falling off!! Good luck.

@windcaller a good way to develop your seat is let someone else lunge your horse with a special cinch with a hoop to hold onto (i don't know the proper english word) and you sitting on it. without the saddle or stirrups your nody has to work harder to keep balanced, so you can keep your balance in the sadle easier too.

of course this would only work if your horse know lunging

Haha that's what Mitch did to me the other day, same direction and distance to. Then carried on like nothing had happened. But tbh I was impressed with the fact he stopped quick and carried on like nothing had happened because He's 7 and only been off the track since april 2010.
