skills are not what make you better. positive impact on the game are what make you better. don't be foolish. shaq has never been the most skilled player in the nba, but from 1998 to maybe '03 or '04, he was the league's best player. lebron is better than kobe.

Sure, positive impact makes you better. But Lebron has only made the finals once, and last year his record was 45 and 37 in a very weak east. Kobe had that same record in the West 3 years ago, before he even had Pau or a developed Bynum.
So yeah, Lebron's impact is unbelievable. But to say he has a better impact than Kobe is to ignore results. Each of them has made the finals, yet Kobe did it in the West. He also has 3 rings and 5 finals appearances.

lebron's teammates are so much worse than kobe's and bryant has had the luxury of riding the coat tails of shaq for 4 out of his 5 championship appearances. championships are an organizational/team achievement. basketball is a 5 on 5 game. jordan, with all his skill and talent could have very well gone his whole career without winning anything because he didn't have the right guys around him. kobe's advantage in achievement is circumstancial, not substantive.

@tommycho ...because stats are the results of those skills.... not saying LeBron is better (actually I personally think Kobe is) but to say you shouldn't go by stats is ridiculous. Points, rebounds, assists, wins, etc, are results of the skills they put out on the court.
