Im watching this cover realy often, and i just dont understand why you guys dont like this solo. When John were playing megafast solo to slow songs, for example: dont forget me (like Cigale version) noone said even one word that "slow solo was better". Rly guys this young guitarist got his own idea for solo, and it was realy fuckin awesome! So chill out

now I've learned this kind of trick did by Satriani, which is way more clear...listen to the super colossal solo for example :D And even better, try to learn it, it helps a lot for this trick !

but you know, i normally have some trouble with switching from the wah to the distortion. how dou you do? do you switch the wah off? because i once read somewhere that frusciante doesn't turn it off during the chorus, he just flips the wah as far front as he can, and just turn the distortion on. that's kind of my problem :P

i suppose you use your dist before your wah...i mean...guitar-distortion-wah-(­whatever effects)-amp...i just bought an wh10 myself (the black version, it sounds interesting, but i havent reached jet that amazing wah sound frusciante gets on stadium arcadium tour live jams, i hope i find that sound)

this order ( guitar - dist - wah ) is so good on valve amps, but on transistor doesn't sound so good, and it's so loud too. I've just used the footswitch for the distortion ...NOT connected to the wh-10, is separated

you have no idea how much i agree with your philisophy on guitar solos. but then on the other hand, a very technical one is also good too, by the likes of Paul Gilbert etc... i love thrash metal solos and stuff when theyre done properly, but deffintely less is more is the best approach

whenever i try to use my wh10 with distortion for a solo, the wah is always drained out and you cant hear it that well. your solo with the wh10 here was amazing though. any tips?

sorry I've read just now your answer :) Mmm, first it depends a lot by the amp and so thw watt. Than if you're playing at home you should play with a lot of distortion; with the DS-2 and the wh-10 on my low watt home-amp the sound is not so good just like this one ( made with the amp dist ). In studio on the Marshall JCM with this 2 pedal I have this same sound. So I think it depends a lot by the amount of volume and the amount of distortion; try to set more distortion at home :)
