If all the plastic had been made with d2w technology there would be no Pacific Garbage Patch. It is time that legislators made it compulsory, as they have aready done in the Middle East.Compostable plastic is no good, because it is up to 400% more expensive, and most of it will not readily degrade unless it is collected and taken to an industrial composting facility. Even then it is useless, because it converts to CO2 gas within 180 days-adding to climate change but doing nothing for the compost.
There is a simple, and very low-cost, answer to plastic pollution in the environment, but people do not realise what is staring them in the face.
The answer is d2w Controlled-life technology which converts ordinary plastic at the end of its useful life into a biodegradable material. It even passes the eco-toxicity tests in ASTM D6954, EN13432, and BS8472 to confirm that it is not toxic. Ordinary and recycled plastic does not have to pass these tests.
So sad.....
