THANK YOU, MICHELLE! I can play your various rhythms on my bodhran but still struggle with the dynamics of getting the right sound within those rhythms.
Would it be possible to practice the dynamics with you first and then with you and a reel or jig in the background? I think I could internalize the dynamics better if I watched you playing the rhythm/dynamics along with the music softly playing so we could hear you over the music. Would this be possible? Perhaps a new lesson?
Hi Michelle, First of all thank you so much for your YouTube lessons. Is there anyway of numbering the lessons? I'm am such a newbie, I had to search through the videos to see I should be watching the dynamics videos first. I'm have such trouble with the jig. That up stroke is gonna do me in! Also, can you play sideways to the camera? I have no clue if I'm hitting the drum at an angle or straight up and down. Grrr, I guess a real life lesson would be good, lol but I'm in Southern Indiana!
when I try to do what's in these videos I get 90% scratching and 10% percussion
