  • I just realise it is you who made those pokemon hack videos I saw a long time ago weeew those were really great oww and btw congrats xD

  • You are awesome!

  • Congratulations on getting picked up on a website. Always nice to see youtubers become successful enough to be able to do what they love.

  • You have the best posture.

  • @AKakes97 In all my years on YouTube, that's one thing no one has ever said to me. Thanks!

  • Love your voice :'D

You sound like a slightly younger version of my English teacher, Miss Biwater.. :3

  • I love your voice Hiroka ^^

  • You still have the single highest pitched voice I've ever heard.

    Fuck yea.

  • AVGN W00T! :D

  • Hi there. I didn't really watch your video (Sorry!)

I'm Brendan! You might remember my username, I think I subscribed to you about four or so years ago. I probably still have that message I sent you in my inbox (outbox).

It's been a very long time, it's good to see you're still on YouTube!

You look very different from what I remember.

Then again, I was much younger back then!

Anyways, have a great day. Kudos!

  • Wow have you ever considered voice acting?

  • @BSGabesterrFan A lot of people hate my voice, so I don't think I'd be very good at it.

  • @TamashiiHiroka What, why?! It's cute. ^^

  • @Merz0r They say it's too high pitched.

  • @TamashiiHiroka For voice acting you need to have a distinctive characteristic that isn't too specific (or you would end up playing a single role). Personally, I indeed find that you're too high pitched for my likings, but in lots a anime they have voices similar to yours. But those characters usually portrait the stereotypes you talked against for video games (i.e. accessory characters). Just saying...

  • @Eldroth666 I never intended to pursue voice acting of any kind, so I don't really care. My voice is my voice, and there isn't very much I can do to change it.

  • @TamashiiHiroka I find your voice very interesting at the least

  • Tamashii, you have so much freaking Nintendo stuff.... I'm jealous.

  • RIGHT ON LADY!!! FIGHT THE POWER!!!...lol srry im just happy tht u found something thts good for both genders to enjoy. lik i said before[in another comment] i believe tht there is no dominant gender in anything,so RIGHT ON!!!

  • Where did you get that shirt??And your sound is cute

  • @Xxjensen93xX A department store several years ago.

  • wow! look at the anime books behind her! i wonder what the series are...

  • @sanjayarandomness I think the only series I have left at this point are Fruits Basket, Azumanga Daioh, Kodocha, Sailor Moon, Ranma 1/2, Card Captor Sakura, Angelic Layer, Magic Knight Rayearth, Kodocha, and xxxHolic. There may be more behind me in the video but I've had to get rid of a lot to make room for more games.

  • @TamashiiHiroka wow thats pretty awesome! i wish my manga collection would be as much as yours xD those mangas are pretty cool

  • @TamashiiHiroka Yay you like Fruits Basket too? :D

  • @CorruptionCode I used to love it, but its been such a long time since I've read it I don't remember it so well.

  • @TamashiiHiroka OOh! I Love Ranma 1/2!

  • I'll give this idea a chance but I really don't know.

  • YES! Now we have another site to watch your awesome videos on!

  • Nice site! :)

  • So what happens to us guys...? :(

  • @superlynx98 Nothing! All you have to do is stay subscribed, I'll upload trailers whenever theres a new video, and all you have to do is click the link in the video description to watch it. Its just one extra click for you, that's all!

  • you can do it!

  • Interesting idea.

Will be interesting to see how this turns out.

  • I'm so happy for you! I love your shirt by the way! ^_^

  • U should do a lets play of the next gamefreak pokemon game

  • @IconOfSin30 I don't think I'd be very good at making Lets Plays :P

  • i doubt anyone claims to be good at the lets plays, so honestly, i doubt anyone could be THAT bad, unless they make people want to punch their computer. xD

  • @Arceus88888 I could be really really boring and uncharismatic, you never know!

  • Noooooo! D: don't leave YouTube! DX

  • Will you put those videos from Videya on here after a year it was released for there like how the AVGN puts a trailer for his reviews then a year later he puts it on Youtube

  • @larztard We'll see, it might be possible :)

  • I don't see what people are making a big deal about... I'm happy for her! =D i think it's a good idea that there is a place where female gamers can have a voice cause i do feel that all i see if male reviewers. Heck i believe Tamashii is the only reviewer (and such) that i really found and am subscribed to on youtube! So congratulations Tamashii! =3

  • ah well ok then your videos wer pretty good but i dont relly support channels were only 1 gender is aloud hope you still got plenty of subs who stay tho

  • @kingcory10 The idea is simply to provide a place for female game reviewers to share their content without being drowned out by the overwhelming amount of similar content produced by men. It's not intended to discriminate, but rather to give a perceived minority a platform they can use to share their ideas and opinions. This may help shatter the misconception that female gamers are a minority, once more girls are also posting their videos :) I don't want to make any guy gamers feel unwelcome!

  • so you are living the dream(well...my dream anyway) to be a part of a website that does reviews where you will be more famous then you already are and eventual collabs being made...i wish i could do the same....but on Doug Walker's website personally. since im a man and would not be welcomed to review on your site...

  • so this vidyagirls is a female gamer only kinda thing?

  • @kingcory10 Only women will be making videos for the site, but everyone can enjoy them, regardless of gender.

  • Awesome! Always sorta wanted my own video review site, never materialized though. You have my support! :D

  • Well you ARE good at video game related stuff someone must've saw this coming

  • A great start to the new year huh? Best of luck.

  • whoa! you got lots of games... and tons of tons of books... dammit I wish I were a girl just for this :(

  • @00eeveeisthebest00 You don't have to be a girl to enjoy VidyaGirls :)

  • congrats on joining the website

  • Good luck and wish you the best!!!!!

  • For people who are bothered by this idea...do keep in mind that revenue from the new site will mean more money, and that money will go toward better videos that you want to see anyway. It isn't as though her style changes or anything. Just the location.

And If you fags are going to be so lazy that you won't click an extra link to watch the video, I hope you aren't expecting any recent games or console reviews.

  • Good Luck

  • LAME.

  • Nice to see that you're "growing up/maturing" Tamashii. It's been fun going through your weeaboo phase up to now. Best of luck to you from your friend, Inferape.

  • @Inferape95 I like to think my weaboo phase ended about the time The Hack 6 came out.

  • Good for you!!

Just don't let them use you as an attention getter.

  • Tamashii! That person that uploaded that awesome Pokemon Emerald video that one time. :D I wish you the best of luck with your future videos!

  • Oh, you suddenly started appearing on my front page again. So, uh, hi, how've you been?

  • I wish you the best of luck, girl! And guys, let's just support her, as friends and fans. I mean really, what's wrong with a different site and a little change?

  • Wait, "A variety show about Pokemon... It will be more in Black and White and less in Nostalgia.." Sooooooooo... It'll be about Black and White the Pokemon games and nothing else or it will be more objective when it comes to Pokemon? I got majorly confused. Buuut, website switch? That's cool.

  • @DudeGuyPerson64 The show on GigaBoots is still very much a work in progress, so I don't know how much else I can say about it. It'll be about Pokemon Black and White, with strategies, tips, and general information, but it'll also have informational segments about Pokemon's history/development.

  • Alright then, I have no problem going to another website.

  • vidyagirls? Girls go on /v/?

  • Alas, I watch this from my iPod Touch. I do have a huge Windows 7 computer in my room, but I prefer watching YouTube videos from the comfort of my bed.

And while I DO watch the AVGN from my iPod, it's only because I have the AVGN app.

So, unless you're going to make a $1.00 app for the iTunes App Store, this is farewell.

"Well, you can still watch the trailers! :3"

Yes, but I don't like to spoil myself.

  • @Tharthan They will still be on YouTube, just embedded into another site. I'll add a link to the video so you can subscribe to the main VidyaGirls channel without paying $1.00 for an app :)

  • Ah OK, at least your not leaving us behind.

  • No Tamashii!

Please, do not give in to a "Female Gaming Site"

You're only suggesting that females are not normal for gaming.

I sounded like a total dick there.

It's your choice, I'm sorry for getting mad.

  • @ForestNeon You still do have a point, but it still is her choice, like you said.

  • @ForestNeon That's just the name for the site. If you actually looked at it, then you would see they are making it for girls AND guys.

  • @ForestNeon This is second problem. In general both male and female gamers are offended by the classificaiton "GirlzGamer". Its shallow, simple as that. It isolates girl gamers as being both abnormal and special.

  • @ForestNeon When there are more female producers working it won't seem like we're trying to make a spectacle of a female minority. It'll just seem like a place to get a female perspective on a subject that generally many women don't speak openly about (for now). It's just me working there right now but there will be others soon, you'll see. :)

  • @TamashiiHiroka Ok. I trust you :D

  • I'm really happy for you! You've been looking for a job for a while now and now you have something! I can't wait to check out the site!

  • Why do you have to speak like a robot? seems unnatural :/

  • @ChicksCanGame Ouch, I guess performing isn't my strong point. I'm not good with improvisation so I just write out scripts and perform them.

  • @TamashiiHiroka ah right, well I guess your videos have done really well from it so there shouldn't be need to change but I dunno, just seemed weird to me. No need to say 'ouch' my opinion shouldn't matter to you :P haha

  • @TamashiiHiroka if you find it hard talking infront of a camera try geting a flipcam and talk whilst doing something you usually do O: make you feel less awkward talking and itl look less linear :D like anyway

  • @stefantom4 Some days its easier, some days its harder. I think when I've been having trouble remembering my lines its harder to seem happy about it, hahaha.

  • @TamashiiHiroka I stopped scripting it for that reason, I sounded stupid so I decided to remember one topic that I wanted to say, then freestyle it, you should try it, atleast just once? :P I dont mean to sound like im being nasty ahha, I'm trying to help!

  • @ChicksCanGame I don't know, its harder for me because I have ADD, it takes a really long time for me to get my thoughts together, so I'm not good at "on the fly" things. There would be too many pauses and it would seem awkward and boring. I love writing anyway, so I guess I just need to work on my performance.

  • @TamashiiHiroka Well you don't have to change anything, look at how many views you get :) Your videos are fine how they are it just seems like this video is awkward like your full on script reading kinda like a robot, but if people love your style, then that's awesome :3

  • @ChicksCanGame I'm pretty sure she said she always thinks out a script for her videos. Why so critical?

  • @Pokeeeveegirl I dunno, I didn't see that :S that's why I asked. I guess if you're prepared to put videos on YT you should get critiques :P

  • yesss letzz GOOO....congrats

  • Another portal site huh ? Way to many youtubers are trying to cash in on this idea.

  • @Rinrenken Think of it this way. The more income I have, the better my videos will get. And also I won't starve to death, as I am currently unemployed otherwise :(

  • @TamashiiHiroka Sorry probably should of clarified. I am all for with youtubers taking initiative. I just find it lazy for youtubers to make websites that simply redirect back to private videos from youtube and other streaming sites. It just strikes me as lazy.

On your specific case, its far to early. You barely have a following. With only 10k subs you only get like 15-20% of them to come to the portal site. You probably struggle to even get over 1000 traffic per video

  • @Rinrenken My subscribers will not be my only audience on this new site. There are marketing people involved, I just don't want the few people who already watch me to get left behind. There will be new content posted there soon, I planned for the Pinball review to go there instead of this channel so I could start with something brand new, but delays pushed the launch back. I'm already working on another new video though.

  • @TamashiiHiroka We both know thats not true. If the site was able to generate its own audience, then you would have no motivation to only post trailers on this channel and make full videos private. Truth is almost all the views the website will get will be driven from youtube subscribers from you and the other directors on the site.

I will follow you to the new site simply because I like both your videos and you as person. I am simply calling a spade a spade. I do hope the site is successful.

  • @Rinrenken To be honest, I was not expecting everyone to be on board. I have a video up advertising a video I posted on Blip, for example. The trailer has 10k views, and the Blip video only has 5k. I would not have agreed to join the site if I wasn't already aware of the stakes. My keeping everyone informed may help the site a little, but that's not my main motivation with the trailers. I'm being sincere, and I appreciate your continued support.

  • @TamashiiHiroka As long as you understand. I am mainly concerned with your growth. You really do have the potential of become a 100k+ sub if you did this full time. But a video per month really isnt enough to grow anything.

And puting videos on a secondary channel will just hamper your subscription growth even more. Just worried you focus to much on getting traffic to new website and completely forget about growing your core audience.

If it means a weekly vid, ill gladly accept new website :3

  • @Rinrenken I can't really do this full time. I'm a student, and I'm still looking for a part time job too. Realistically a video a week is impossible, at least at the scale I make them now, and generally speaking I've found if I post videos too close together not as many people watch them for some reason. But I do realize moving will hamper my subscription growth. It's just a risk I have to take right now.

  • @TamashiiHiroka Yep, most of your core subscriber base understand this. Well frankly probably most of your subs are students (Going for masters in geography myself :3). So dont feel like we have a expectation for you to do a episode a week or anything, was simply stating that it be nice =p

But no matter what happens with the site, your core subs will stick with you, so dont let it stress you out to much.

  • @TamashiiHiroka I'd love to cook for you, lol (And talk about pokémon :3)

  • @TamashiiHiroka Ignore people who don't understand how economics work. I totally understand why you're doing this. I hope you make enough money to get a new mic/camera. I hope we have more videos busting myths and reviewing quirky old machines. Those are my personal favorite. From Britian - Good Luck.

  • Ok I thought you quit.

  • @xDr4kxKILLERx No not at all! I'm still hard at work on my next review :)

  • Awesome! :)

  • hey :)

  • congratulations :)

  • I'm not going to go to another site to watch something that I've always had here. What reason is there that you can't post them here too? If they actually require you to not post your videos on youtube it's not worth being there.

  • @QuilavaKing You don't have to go to another site, I'll only post trailers when a NEW video is posted there. I won't make you go to any extra work to find the videos, it'll be just like clicking on a video in your subscription box. Its just one more click, that's all.
