  • these things should be given to waiters then they don't fall. :D

  • i would wanna throw some little rocks to see if that thing can handle it >:]

  • they take pictures at the girl...

  • We have legs for a reason

  • the honda one is better

  • So it's just a hands free segway??.. Lame. Honda's tech (asimo/ U3-x) is was cooler.

  • another way to get fat and useless. NO WALKING. Good gravy the girl they picked is totally not a stick. she needs to be a stick or she proves my point about no walking.

  • oh god she is cute,... drive over here for a kiss :-)!!!!

  • cool a segway with no handles

  • Why so much bad feedback? I think this is awesome! Much less bulky and odd/obnoxious than the segway. I want one. I can't wait until it's available for purchase.

  • another way to waste resources, try walking its faster!

  • this would be awesome for serving people at a restaurant

  • さすがはトヨタ、パクリがお上手!

    Great TOYOTA! Loves chasing after.

    (They just create copied, Always.)

  • Well, I saw many bad feedback stating that it make people lazy, do not exercise, etc

However, from business perspective, with a properly designed layout (adequate space for this gadget and customers to move), this gadget can boost the efficiency and effectiveness in service industry such as restaurant and airport. Waitress and waitresses can use this gadget to serve foods to customers and airport staff can use it to help passengers.

  • I hope they can develop it to help the elderly and weak to move aroung like normal people

  • Wow.. I can't imagine when this "robot" used by my company.

  • I see a flimsy looking segway, just like the toyotas of the early 70's.

  • the guy is walking just as fast as this shit. Im American and even i think thats lazy

  • @dwillztxnew That is called innovation. That may be for disabled or old people. Of course, normal people can use it but I don't think it is a better choice than a bicycle.

  • we should stop this sort of stuff, and we shouldnt make robots do little stuff like get us food and stuff cos then teh human race will be fatter htan ever, u know in some buildings they have seas in the elevators?! even if it is just 3 stories high! i know technology is also supposed to make our lives easier but if we become obese from it then our lives will not be good

  • Now I can transport my fat ass into mcdonalds instead of using the drive through. I wonder if it would work on my treadmill so I can exercise with it.

  • Must lazies shet i ever seen

  • @adamstreetboyz haha almost as lazy as your spelling

  • Nice work. I like. But take a look at this:

    zoomcamp.com

  • Toyota Midget!!

  • people are lazy enoguh this days, so wats the point of this thing?

is a waste of money and electricity using this thing to stop walking plus is bad for ur health dont excersise.

  • ill take the one at 0.35 with the pretty japanese model please.

  • lazy assholes i prefer freerace "parkour" than that shit they're wasting their precious lives inventing something for lazies

  • @MrDondidon Who do you think you are? You are one in some several billions...hahaha Japanese people are the most clever I have seen, compared to anyone one else except of South Korea and China or most of the Eastern Asian civilizations... What "precious lives" means is where you really place your self as in the society you belong (if it really is a society). Japan has the highest standards in the world, so you cannot be compared with those people...

  • Segway was invented by an American, Dean Kamen -- NOT by a Japanese scientist. Search wikipedia for: Segway, Dean Kamaen. Search Google for Segway to learn about his company.

  • Japanese scientist invented Segway in 1986.

  • Japan, free Peter Bethune! Boycott all Japanese products until their whale and dolphin killing stops.

  • What if the accelerator on this thing sticks?

  • @masterd151 Then you'd have to jump off before it hit the top speed of 2 MPH.

  • the only issue I see is uneven place to ride, how will it go up a 1" curb ? those lil bumps will sending you flying off like a skateboard I'd think, great start Toyota !

  • 「U3-X」

  • The use for this is for immobile people, such as the old or disabled, not the usual market

  • I had a company cruise on the Segway X2. From what I've seen in the video, the X2 is faster and bigger than the Toyota Winglet making the Winglet boring and uncompetitive. Toyota, please just copy the Segway X2, offer it for 1000 USD and I'll buy it.

  • This smells like stupidity

  • Wow, they invented Segways! lol

  • Hey thats they girl From UBC that works in Toyota Japn demo-ing the i-unit and winglet also now i guess

  • a what?

  • Airport,shopingsenter,likethat (Ihave one)

  • useless stuff from japan. why would you need something like that, if you are paralised you cant stand up(or you could invest the money in spinal injuries research) and if you are tired you'll take a bus or a car, or rest. but why stand up?????

  • do you know how crouded the buses and subways are in jaoan?

maybe someone would like to avoid that if they werent going that far

and yeah, its not for handicapped ppl

  • how about the good old bicycle or walking?

  • not always an option if you have a long way to go

that and I rode a bike all through high school

    got sick of popped tires

  • rollerblades?

  • been a long time since I have seen anybody using blades

besides how many ppl do you know that are close enough to work that they can go using anything other than a car

  • well, unlike america, the japanese are in good shape, i dont really see any of them fat. you see, the japanese, they dont need to work out more, so they can use these things.

  • its not for america, its for japan. unlike america, japan is much more denser, so it takes little time to get around place. they dont really need to travel far. so devices like this are ok to use.

  • Why do we need this if we have (folding) bicycles? Or just walk? I see a fat, obese future. Next step? Watch Wall-e and you can tell.

  • segway?

  • they don't know how beneficial walking is to us. Maybe those are for the old and disabled??

  • The Toyota is a fascist company which suppress on freedom speech.

  • cool

  • Dont need that...

But the girl is hot =)

  • if people stop walking, they will get more fat... and they will need biger machines to curry them around from those we see here

  • haha you must see the film wall-e. its exactly how you said. People that don't walk get fat.

  • I`d like to see a sumo wrestler on one !!!

  • fat is good! ego is bad

  • have u ever seen wall-e film if you have you no what i am talking about. this you see hear is just the next step towards no execise at all.

  • in the future you wont need exercise. there will be a pill or something that will make you healthy forever... this is just 1 thing out of many advanced technologies to come

  • you can't put exercise in a pill. Or all things you can imagen...

If i broke my leg.. do i need to eat a pill? LOL

  • Yes, you take painkillers (especially while your bone is being reset by doctors). And if the bone breaks the skin you will take antibiotics.

Researchers are indeed close to developing exercise "pills". New drugs such as Myostatin blockers and "SRT1720" look very promising.

  • Great! Another reason for people to get fat! Walk, folks! Or, ride a bike!

  • legal.

  • I can see something like this being huge with the baby boomers and their parents. If they can sell as many of these things as the medical industry sells new hips, that'll keep Toyota busy for a while.

I think these things are cool.

  • Not a profitable product. Anyway a lazy fat ass American would crush that thing.

  • I hate American shitty food too. Segway wont make american fat, the're already fat!!!

  • @loola456 shut up

  • No place to use it!!

    Might be stolen!!!

    Have to recharge so often!!!!

    High price!!!!!

  • Garbage machine

  • Technology of the Segway, the patent are not used for Toyota wing let at all.

It was completely developed by technology and the patent of the Toyota original.

TOYOTA Robot Secssion = Sony Robot

  • omg isn't that stuff going faster than a pedestrian? what a waste of money ! Instead of investing money on such a useless thing, we should use it better like renewable energy.

  • Marchez tas d'feignants! C'est vraiment n'importe quoi, aucun gains de temps, on va plus vite a pieds.

  • Im totally agreed with mangaflip!!! No another word to say..

  • its not the world getting fatter, this is just america LMAO, im sure that japanese gonna be fat, they eat nice food and they have long life , in comparaison american eat shit burger with french fries

  • i'm not a fan...looks like a janky rip-off

  • what is a janky?

  • With the world getting fatter by the day, it's good to see another pointless machine to help us get from A to B without burning a single calorie!

  • lol i was thinking the exact same thing!! no doubt!

  • Totally agree, walking is good for health !

  • has no-one noticed its a remake of the segway.. but in typcial japan fashion, they've just taken a good idea and made it freakin awesome!

  • its like an electric wheelchair for those who are capable of walking.

  • wow Japanese Super Technology!

  • wow it's like they took the idea of a wiiboard and tuned it into something people actually want

  • Japanese Super Technology!

  • Why does my back hurt just watching this ?

  • segway is 3 times faster !!!...but this model have a nice design...when it will be under the 2500 euro =good

  • i wish some one would make a dam hoverboard =/

  • is that neccessary?

    you can just walk

i would like a reason for this thing

  • all i can say we don't need one more reason for a back pain . it is not look like we have that good health care as americans that why i don't think this is smart idea

  • a reason U.S is getting fatter,if this comes over here i think some have.i may never c a person walk again...

  • This is in Japan. Dumbass.

  • i fcking kno its in japan ,i said when it comes to the states

  • Sorry, I should have read your comment more closely... :[.

Besides.. I'm willing to bet most people [in the States] who would rather use the Winglet are already overweight and are probably too heavy to use it xD. Dunno the Winglet's weight capacity but that's beside the point.

  • wow just proves to you that people in this world are getting lazier and lazier

  • Its geared towards the elderly. Im sure these arnt intended to replace the physically mobility of people absent of atrophy. Although i might get one just for the hell of it .

  • this is so slow, i can even walk faster. OMG

  • if i every have a fatal accident and my legs get removed, im getting them replaced with this!

  • It wouldn't be much use as one normally dies from fatal accidents

  • @nut315 this vehicle driving only by legs and feet, what you gonna do with it if your legs get removed?

  • @nut315 You need to look up the word "fatal" moron.

I'll save ya the trouble, fatal = dead.

If your dead, missing legs will be the least of your problems. (sarcasm)

  • it's so slow. why don't people just walk!

  • Cause they are LAZY

  • Watch out Segway!

The Winglet will soon overtake the Segway just as Toyota overtook American cars

  • Professor Kazuo Yamafuji of the University of Electro-Communications thought of the idea of the two parallel vehicle first, and he tackled. He began research around from 1986, actually created the experimental model in 1987, applied for the patent, and was already received. Supposing Professor Yamafuji was an American, the immense patent fee must have been charged to Segway. (Machine translation)

  • so you get the laziness of a segway plus the whole "steal this idea from an American man concept"

  • aha i out walked you

  • how lazy r we getting??? we cant even walk ourselves!?!? if this continues we will adapt and become very weak.

  • i agree it is reaaaaaaalllly lazy. Its cool for like 5 minutes but its pointless, we have legs!!

  • Fantastic! Japan has created the obesity pumper. comes with a case of snickers and free fries at Mc Donalds for life. Wanna music break? check this out i just stumbled on to....James eric longshot.... it was a fun and catchy tune

  • same thing as a segway

  • no handlebars

  • wow. in todays world, the always evolving exercise equiptment where running on a treadmill is preferred to going out side and fitness is emphasized more than ever. holy shit! now you dont have to worry about the inconvienence of walking over to the treadmill to stay fit or even walking to the car to drive to the gym, that's a 2 minuet walk away, to use the treadmill....... what next?

  • Be good for airports, or open planned areas.

  • YOU MORON its for filthy rich guys who need to walk for 15 mins to get on the other side of there business warehouse or suite!!

  • That's a useless winglet. What if one of shithead pushes you to the ground. In Birmingham, UK, they will tackle you and crack your head open with this thing

  • Birmingham should buy helmets

  • mas gordos en el mundo, caminar es lo mejor que podemos hacer, no sean flojos

  • The hands free model seems pretty cool, but it's like that other machine that was made, the segway or whatever. The post office bought a whole bunch of them and it was gunna change walking forever. I don't think this type of thing will ever catch on.

  • why dont we skip this part and go stright to the wall-e chairs??? lol

  • this is big

  • BAD MOVE TOYOTA! STOP WHILE YOU'RE AHEAD! You guys are doing great in sales! You don't need to waste your time on this kind of CRAP!

  • whatever happened to just walking these days?

  • walking is so 20th century.

  • walking makes creases in your kicks, can't have that happening forever now can we...

  • This is disappointing. I wanted the whole robotech outfit with missiles and laser cannons and they just have this crummy scooter. These Japanese are all about empty promises. It's been 23 years already, even more since Johnny Socko. Where's my battlemech?!? This is just not a proper robotic transporter.

  • xxXghislainXxx ur not lazy? ur sitting on ur ass looking at a screen, what a work out ur getting

  • q linda la japo :)

  • this is a sign the world is coming to an end

    lol

    can u see it?

heck, like, don't people WALK these? what's wrong using ur legs?

some ppl r getting lazier and lazier

    oh well, not me ;)

    cheers!

  • A lot of technology of Sony is used for Winglet.

  • can some one tell me why the hell im still using my own 2 feet?

  • I know right?! I demand this be mass produced now!

  • Nice technology... but at that speed, why not just walk?

  • I suppose it would be best for people who can stand, but have difficulty walking

  • Imagine it coming to a sudden stop because the rider has hit a curb while typing something into their Blackberry.. but at 45kph.

  • if you uploaded a video of that, i'd +fav it

  • cmon, thats just lazy lol

  • Que bello, para que caminar cuando casi puedes flotar!!!. Uaaau, beautiful, why walk, when you can use Winglet!!

  • Segway???

  • Segway has been PWNED by the Japanese.

  • (much like Ford)

  • basically this is a wheelchair for ppl who can actually walk haha take that disabled ppl!

  • it's missing a dildo

  • they will definitely have to make a bigger model for Americans.... LOL!! we're too obese to fit on it....

  • seg's smaller brother from another mother :))

  • get a bike - cheaper and better for you and the environment.

    looks pretty cool though.

  • Great idea... make fat bastards even more lazy eh?

  • this wont make people any fatter than cars have

  • stupid if u ask me (this video)

  • "cough" segway ripoff "cough" "cough"

  • If you have seen the movie Wall-E, that is just exactly where we humans are heading to, with these kinds of technologies.

  • your right

  • How ridiculous is that? Go walk, will you?

  • Pfff next thing is. How many power its gets for FAT people!

  • lmao give every suit in NY and vancouver this thing :D

  • What is wrong with walking? Too healthy for people in the 21st century. What a waste of money time resources etc.

  • i wonder what the weight requirement is lol. Maybe a good working item in Japan but maybe not in USA lol. Add my 210 pounds to that thing and it might break lol.

  • Basically, if you're fat, as appears to be your case, you can't have one.

  • Segway, much?

  • FAIL!

  • i liked the girl. kawaii is what they say in japan.

  • This looks a lot better than a segway. It's barely wider than the person. Doesn't require a goofy handlebar setup. I still wouldn't use it outside of a dayjob where I walked the whole time (and probably couldn't afford it then), but the design is very smart.

  • and that was the beginning of the rise of robots that explode your legs.

  • Is this really necessary? Aren't we fat enough?

  • fat people love this machine

  • not the japanese

  • Holy cow different colored segways!!!

  • LOL. I like how the people that are walking are ahead of the people on the Winglet.
