Im a recent fan of Sasha Alexander & never watched NCIS until watching seasons 1 & 2 over the last few months. That Tony character is obnoxious & annoying. Kate acted like someone who was subjected to an annoying person everyday even though she cared abt him. I wuld hv been a B too! B/c of how that character is, I wont watch newer episodes cause he is just WAY too much!

I think Kate's a good character, and she IS a caring character, she's just not the kind who would express it in a way that Ziva and Abby does. Yes she was mostly strict to Tony, but he can be a jerk sometimes. But deep down, Kate really cares for Tony, even when Tony contracted the plague disease, Kate voluntarily stayed with him. Does that strike you as a "bitch"?

@JEnokokame sure at times she showed that she cared, but like 90% of the time she was saying bitchy things. i just hated her. im glad they replaced her. Ziva sometimes says somewhat bitchy things but it comes across better. like shes just teasing Tony. when Kate did it, it just pissed me off
Kate mostly said harsh things to Tony because she cares about him, but she was the sort who doesn't want to show that she cares for him, so she pretends that she hates him, but really deep down, she really cares for Tony & everyone else.
She was Abby's bestfriend, she was really nice to Ducky, and got along well with Gibbs...but she has this love-hate relationship with Tony.

That's funny, I feel the exact opposite. I can't stand Ziva. She's a strong character but she's extremely persistent which makes her annoying, she untrustworthy (something that was NEVER an issue with Kate), she jumps to conclusions and is pretty closed minded, invades personal space and doesn't know how to let anything go. Kate had the ability to profile suspects which was very useful to the team, an ability completely absent from Ziva. Overall Kate was a better agent in my opinion.
how is Ziva untrustworthy? [Part 1] Look at the last 2 episodes of season 6. She lied about Rivkin until she was confronted by Tony but even then she didn't tell the whole truth. As far as Ari she kept that a secret until the end. She jumped to the conclusion that Ari was innocent even though she was presented with evidence that he killed Kate, which shows she wasn't open minded to the idea of him being the killer regardless that he was her half brother. These were only 2 episodes where she wasn't entirely truthful...
i don't know if you noticed, but ziva lied about Rivkin and Ari because she CARED ABOUT THEM. Ari was her half brother! RIVKIN WAS HER BOYFRIEND. She loved both, and she protected both.
Ari was her half brother, and that made her want to see the best in him. It's the same way with Michael Rivkin. Are you saying that if one of your relatives or the one you loved was in trouble or danger, you wouldn't do everything you could to help or protect them?
Sure I would, as long as it fell within the boundaries of the law. If you break the law you have to be held accountable and answer to the proper authorities, no matter who you are. Both Ari and Rivkin were breaking laws. Ziva was ordered to kill Ari by her father to gain Gibbs trust. Sure she wanted to protect Ari but she still lied to both her father and Gibbs....[see 2nd part of response].
[Part 2] Tony does get into people's personal space but he knows when to back off. Plus he does it in an annoying friendly way unless it has to do with a case. Ziva is just constantly in people's space (I'm thinking of the entire time Tony was on the La Grenouille mission). If Kate is a bitch it's a direct result of dealing with Tony and a rub off from Gibbs. For the most part Kate is pretty compassionate. Although there are a couple of episodes that show Ziva's emotional side...[see pt3]
[Part 3]...for the most part she's a robot. I think Abby said it best (not a direct quote) "Unlike you I can't turn my emotions on and off" (episode when Gibbs goes into a coma). Oh and Kate didn't shoot Gerald, Ari did. And yeah she froze but that can happen in those types of situations. In the episode where McGee kills a cop, at the end he freezes when the murderer pushes Gibbs down. Overall Ziva is a strong character, I don't disagree with that. I just can't stand her.

not that I don't completely agree with you on the things that are good about Ziva (she's my fav character), but Kate didn't shoot Gerald. Ari did. Ari shot Gerald in the ball-and-socket joint of his shoulder and arm, in a way that would've made it so that Gerald wouldn't have been able to use his arm if they did not get him medical help.

Like I said before, I don't argue that Ziva is a strong character because she is. In all honesty she has grown on me. Sasha left the show because she doesn't like staying in the same role for a long period of time. She (according to an interview) gets bored of her roles after awhile and moves on to the next job that catches her attention. She's a great actress. I wish she would have stayed but I do like Ziva better.

The next seasons are very good. Especially Season 4 when everything builds up to a very fantastic Season 5. I cannot wait until Season 6. You'll also grow to like Ziva :). She has quite a few funny quips.

not that I don't completely agree with you on the things that are good about Ziva (she's my fav character), but Kate didn't shoot Gerald. Ari did. Ari shot Gerald in the ball-and-socket joint of his shoulder and arm, in a way that would've made it so that Gerald wouldn't have been able to use his arm if they did not get him medical help.

Like I said before, I don't argue that Ziva is a strong character because she is. In all honesty she has grown on me. If she hadn't then I would be defending the strongness of her character...in fact I would probably have wished that the team didn't save her at the beginning of season 7. My overall point is that as good as Ziva is *I* will never see Ziva as better than Kate. And I totally she why people would see the reverse. I guess it comes down to agreeing to disagree.

did you not see how flexible she is? Mcgee isn't exactly the tough guy type, not physical tough and strong. Very sharp at what he does best; computers! His knowledge in that dept. is mind-blowing!! Plus, he could've been holding back with Kate because he's never fought a woman before, and Mcgee is a gentle guy and gentleman. And, I can believe Kate to be strong enough to whip his ass!! Sasha left the show because she doesn't like staying in the same role for a long period of time. She (according to an interview) gets bored of her roles after awhile and moves on to the next job that catches her attention. She's a great actress. I wish she would have stayed but I do like Ziva better.

The next seasons are very good. Especially Season 4 when everything builds up to a very fantastic Season 5. I cannot wait until Season 6. You'll also grow to like Ziva :). She has quite a few funny quips.
