the twilight movies did it cause i remember seeing the twilight books and then no one cared unless you read the books and even that was under cover but after the movie and people saw it and insant fans. they didn't read the book but they are fans. I like vamper, werewolves and other supernatural things before the craze but now it just seems played out. I still love it but its getting out of hand. come on vampire clothing line! It's too much.

man what is up with this world and vampires? after that damn sparkling vampire movie that came out last year, that is all i see now is vampire this and vampire that. blade, buffy and underworld all had vamps in it, but u didnt see much vampire stuff on tv after those came out. so why is this world trying to cash in on vampires now????

@thebuckrogers22  there were a couple of Blade commercials, and a Buffy Barqs commercial with Xander, as well as Underworld styled commercials. 'This world' has always cashed in on mythos and dark occult fiction.

whaaaaaaaaaaat there were blade commericals? when? i never seen them. hmm i wonder were they ever any good. but u have to admit, since twilight the vamps havent really been much like they were back in the 90's. now it is all about vamp love stories. like in that cw drama vampire dairies based off the book.

Its funny that you say that, because I read the Vampire Diaries Trilogy 17 years ago. Believe me, it is NOT a new story. Just YA section come full circle. Its amazing what they try to pass off as a fresh idea these days.

i saw a vampire speical on e channel. talking about how vamps have been bigger than ever cuz of twilight. cuz blade and buffy died out in the late 90's. and underworld is fairly new, but wasnt big enough to have vamps pop up ever 5 secs on tv.

They give Meyers far too much credit. Media was different back then - vamps were big. VERY big. More people chose to READ their fantasy stories than see them on TV.
