@Liam11w keep practicing scales and arpeggios, or do various finger excersises such as squeezing a stress ball. It will take a while before you can use all your fingers on the neck effortlessly. Try holding the bass in different positions and give your fingers more leverage. If your fingers or wrist hurt constantly, have a break. If it continues to hurt go to a physician.

@LeVicomteDeVa1mont Actually, you are wrong. I am a Nazi, and when Hitler was defeated, we decided to teach people Bass, rather than mass kill people, and try and take over the world. We do this by having little crosses on our guitar straps to remind us of the "Good 'ol days", and to trick people on youtube. In addition to this, we thought we'd teach a song with a black singer, because no-one would would expect that at all, MWAHAHAHAHAHA! <-------Evil laugh.
