I have a Panasonic that does 720P, but it only fits in my helmet vertical, which doesn't upload to youtube well. I like your in-helmet setup better though, mine has too much wind noise. But hell yeah, that HD is AWESOME!!! :D
hey my name is aaron and i ran 10 miles a day 6 days a week for 4 years for my R.O.T.C. class and now i have a bad knee and two bad ankles and one broke foot and im only 21 and my doc wants to rebrake my foot and put a plate in my knee so just dont run to much and be careful out there
Can you turn the touchscreen off when filming? And related to that. Does it hurt the screen if you nose is touching it? And how long does the battery last for non stop filming? I'm asking because I ordered this camera 2 days ago and I'm planning to just film riding and if any good upload some to youtube :)
don't worry about being paranoid about people coming up behind you. i just had a friend that was a cop on his way home from work get killed by someone hitting him from behind.
that is a lot. speaking of storage, I have an old MP3 than can transfer files from memery cards to its hard drive, which might be useful, but it's USB1.1, very slow.
very nice quality. I'm hoping the guys who make my cam come out with an HD firmware upgrade or a new bullet cam that will allow it to be HD.. I'm not sure what the requirements would be, but I want it :)
I've tried a couple times to upload the video it does record (720x480) no luck.. tried chopping it to 640x360, but that's not hd, and it messed up the encoding.. might be my fault for rendering with a linux codec...
wow... great quality. A little jittery with the lens on the camera but, when I can read the license plates of the cars you are passing, I guess I can't complain. How big are the files? great vid!
Yea it is a huge download. Just let it start, pause it and come back in 10 minutes. That's what I've been doing for other HD videos.
I don't think I'll do any video for the marathon. I'd rather just focus on the race. Maybe I'll give my friends my camera and see if they can catch me coming across the finish line though.

No.
No.
About an hour (although the camera stops filming automatically after 10 mins).

Are you still "mounting" the camera by basically wedging it between your face and your visor? Isn't the Cybershot taller than your old camera?
NostrilFish 3 years ago
I am, and it is, but I still don't have a problem seeing.

this is awsome. how big was the file?
sunnyjason 3 years ago
About 300MB for 4 minutes. Pretty hefty files. Going to have to reevaluate my storage techniques for longer trips

For some reason, HD would never load...tried numerous times, so watched "normal". First the 1/2, then the full...see a TRI in your future.

Once I've spent some more time using it I'll do a writeup about my impressions. So far though I love the Cybershot T500!

About 700MB for 10 minutes (yikes!). Disk space is cheap nowadays anyways.
AtlasRider 3 years ago
that's huge for one video. Even with YT's re-encoding, I wonder what their disk arrays look like... hmm.
java146 3 years ago
A very noticeable improvement in quality, at least when viewed on a good quality desktop.

Awesome quality video. Yeah, on a motorbike you're always the little brother to anyone else behind (steering-) wheels. Better keep a lookout.

Man, I feel like I'm riding your motorcycle it feels so real.
When I saw "HD Motorcycle" in the title, I thought you meant Harley Davidson. Changing bikes on me? Haha
Scottyyy 3 years ago
Heh, I totally didn't realize how that could be taken. Perhaps I should change the title...

Oh wow, what a difference HD makes! Took a little longer to download, but definitely worth the wait. Looks awesome.
btw, you planning to video the marathon at all?
