@whystylo carb timing ie no carbs in evening is very important. Carbs is your bodys main energy source and usually in the evening you dont exercise as much hense the carbs going to waste and being stored as fat.

Fuck broscience. A calorie is a calorie and food timing is irrelevant to body composition and is the glygemic index. As long as you hit your daily mkacros and calories its all good and it doesn't matter from where you get the macros, you can get it from pizza if ypu want, it won't make a difference. And so are post workout shakes and casein shakes '' i have to drink it or else I go catabolic'' lol Your body only goes catabolic after a 48-72hr fast. lol

@laurenssius apparently it's a myth about the body being able to absorb a certain amount of protein in one sitting. The reason bodybuilders eat 5-6 meals a day is because they just wouldn't be able to ingest that much in 2 or 3 sittings. Check out the channel "LiftingForLife" its run by a guy name Iain McCarthy his videos are good!he has some good videos on this topic which will go into more detail. Hope you find them helpful

I went to a workshop from him and he is a strong believer of the 6 meals a day plan. It has more benefits then IFFYM..
@laurenssius Rob Riches logged his 12 week prep for this summers wbff championship. You can see his weekly macro ratio's on his blog, what he ate and what his targets are. Rob definitely just has that structure of 6 meals, to simply give more structure to his prep. I guarantee on thin though, you will be more satiated with 4/5 meals.

After my workout I have glyco-maize (waxy starch) and then the rest of my meals = 6 meals. The carbs from coke are from sugar, which will also turn into glucose, so yes it doesn't matter from what you get il. But I prefer the rice, more filling.

@besttyler Indeed, macro utilization is the ultimate tool for physique control. It's pretty simple to understand, and of course not everyone HAS to do it. It's just that it exists and is well understood and widely used. Imagine how big of a dent macro precision could put on the alarming growth of obesity... If anything, a good 1-6 months of doing macros really teaches a person (visually) how much they can eat for the body that they want to have, be it they don't feel like counting macros.
@besttyler you do realize that each macro has a different effect/use in the body do you? what do you think fat. protein and carbs all do the same thing for you? lol. they all have different uses in your body therefore a different effect depending on which of the three you are consuming most. let me ask you this, 2 people both the same stats eating 4000 cals a day. person number 1 is getting 80% of the cals from fats and person 2 80% from protein. do you think their results will be the same?

I only get my information from the internet and guys like matt and tuan tran on youtube so you seem more equipped to talk on the topic than me. @TadhgDev No problem man! Yeah he did, he was the wbff 2009 fitness model world champion. I felt kinda ripped off though since he placed 4th on the championships in 2011, lol. He gives some great info but he tells alot from his own experience, so some stuff is broscience. For example, he doesn't drink milk because he believes it lowers test in man and brings op the female sex hormone. It is indeed a interesting topic, but a diffucult one also.. lol. So you're saying that a pro 260lbs+bodybuilder and an average female at the gym can both absorb the same amount of nutrients? If your answer is yes then STFU cause you got no chance arguing . Matt Ogus himself said @8:5meal timing does not matter. And he even said something about eating every 3 hrs. Go to bb.com and all you see them doing is IFFYM.(If It Fits Your Macros) and they all get good results.

@besttyler Well unless you can show me black&white that a study happend about that subject then I keep believing it. I'm a member of bb.com and not everybody is doing IFFYM + the results aren't any better then a 6meal plan. Search Rob Riches, I know him personally via a workshop that he did in London. He is a strong believer of the 6 meals a day plan. Besides, there are more then enough study's that proof otherwise. I didn't say anything about a girl and a 260lbs bb pro.

@laurenssius There are thousands of proof and if you're on bb.com you can see more clearly there. And I never said IFFYM give better results, I said it give the same results, but with a more fun and easy to live by diet. And not all members on BB.com use it, but the majority do and none of them have got bad results. And the only studies about the 6 meals are done on animals, or the ones done on humans are all irrelevant because while not in the lab all studies are free to eat what they want.

@GusMartin2 The cars in brown rice or white rice for that matter will all turn into glucose. Now whats so different from the carbs from a can of coke? The carbs from coke are from sugar, which will also turn into glucose, so yes it doesn't matter from what you get il. But I prefer the rice, more filling.

@GusMartin2 If you think that just hi gi carbs spike insulin you are hell wrong my friend. There have been dozen of studies that prove that low gi carbs give the exact insulin spike as hi gi carbs. And so do protein. The things you are referring to are things that were used in the past and are well forgotten. Stop living in the past.

If someone believes that he needs to eat ecery 3 hrs and can't get a meal while he's at work he'll drink a protein shake and that's what supplements companies want you to do. First it started with a protein after each workout then it continued with carbs+protein after each workout, then it became nitric oxide drink pre workout+carbs+protein post workout THEN IT BECAME N.O PRE+CARBS+PRO POST+ CASEIN BEFORE BED. WHO KNOWS WHATS NEXT!!!

I have been saying that only calories and macros are important and not where you get those calories and macros or what time you do. You should reread all the comments again. @Liftfforglory211 Heh... it's not that they don't know this stuff.. It's just that the entire industry would be effected, the game would be changed if all companies started pushing modern science. One company wouldn't have leverage over others, and supplements would no longer be judged based off their name, fame, commerciality, reviews, etc, but by the quality and quantity of their ingredients, and the price put on the product compared to the price of their containing ingredients.

@flexforall2 Hey.... maybe I over exaggerated a bit.... but come on Matt you know how much money the supp companies are making off false info which is not fair to us... These companies are getting alll the money and success while we fall into these schemes. The pics of these bodybuilders are obviously pics of bodybuilders on roids or have been photoshopped but of course were gonna do what they say to do because they look good and their info keeps us small and buying more supps.

total kcal (and more specifically MACROS) in/ kcals out matters more than timing. Until one understands and fully utilizes macros and a system of progressive overload to their advantage, they should go no further when it comes to special techniques, tricks, supplements, etc... A great source of knowledge dude is "3dmusclejourney". Add a "dot com" or google them. Great articles...

@besttyler Indeed, macro utilization is the ultimate tool for physique control. It's pretty simple to understand, and of course not everyone HAS to do it. It's just that it exists and is well understood and widely used. Imagine how big of a dent macro precision could put on the alarming growth of obesity... If anything, a good 1-6 months of doing macros really teaches a person (visually) how much they can eat for the body that they want to have, be it they don't feel like counting macros.

@besttyler you do realize that each macro has a different effect/use in the body do you? what do you think fat. protein and carbs all do the same thing for you? lol. they all have different uses in your body therefore a different effect depending on which of the three you are consuming most. let me ask you this, 2 people both the same stats eating 4000 cals a day. person number 1 is getting 80% of the cals from fats and person 2 80% from protein. do you think their results will be the same?

@vegemitedownunder heh I think he realizes that, it's just simpler for many to say cals in/cals out. Though you're absolutely correct, which is why I never simplify it to cals in/cals out. If one were to shorten the concept at all, at minimum it should be macros in/cals out. Absolutely...
