Just so you know Steve, they removed all the auto-ballots. Auto-Ballots or not the Habs would get in anyway. When i saw this vid I was like "great, another anti-habs-fans rant. Glad you didn't go there and I agree with most of what you say. The ballots are decided before the game, so that's why so many of those guys are on there, but it shouldn't be that way.

I was so pissed, because when I first checked the ballot (about a week or so) Mike Ribiero (60k votes) was first, Brenden Morrow was second(55k votes), and Modano(30k votes i think) was sixth. Robidas was third(20k), and Zubov was eighth (14k), and lastly Turco was second with 40k. Now I check, and Ribiero is down 20k votes, Morrow, and Modano is not even on the ballot, Robidas is at only like 16k, Zubov is gone, and so is Turco... What the hell! The game is going to be Detroit vs Habs.
But! I still think that we should fight fire with fire and vote even more often this year than all other years :) Steve, you really should vote :)

I voted once and I'm not voting again. It's an Indiana Jones adventure just to make it to the voting. They want all this information: Name, e-mail address, blood type, hair color, blah blah blah! Then once you vote, you have to read a text box full of letters you can't read. Then they want you to type those letters in a text box. IT TOOK ME LIKE 7 TIMES TO GET IT RIGHT! How many of us actually watch the All-Star game? The Skills competition is by far more excited due to the competitiveness and the laid back atmosphere. The All star game is a bunch of glorified pylons that are fearful of getting an injury after a night out at the bar with long time friends/peers in the game. It's a great weekend for the players...but, the actual game has lost a credibility.

Wasn't trying to be original. The point was that Semin is LOSING votes (also well documented), which should not be possible. I didn't see a button for subtracting someone's votes. Also, he's the only player this is happening to. Interesting, isn't it?

Here's what I think the starting lineups SHOULD look like...
WEST: Getzlaf (or Marleau) centering Iginla(LW) and Hossa (RW), with Lidstrom and Phaneuf (or Weber) on D and Luongo in net
EAST: Malkin (or Crosby) centering Ovechkin and Semin (both LW because of the lack of potent RW's in the East), with Green and Kaberle (or Markov) on D, and Lundqvist in net.
this is almost exactly what i voted for. i went iginla-getzlaf-hossa, with weber and souray on d, luongo clearly in net. the east was semin-malkin-parise, with green-markov on d and lunquist in net.

KHL stars against NHL stars :) That would be game I wouldn't miss :) Most of KHL stars are players who where underrated in North America or couldn't adopt to North American hockey style, otherwise they got about the same amount of talent.

Actually this is not the 100th year anniversary of Canadiens for crying out loud Steve. It's the anniversary because when your grand dad was young, they started to play. Then the Leafs were born and Canadiens has shown the Leafs as any other teams at their beginning how to play haaaky. Then they became a strong marvelous hockey team also and won almost as many Stanley cup as Canadiens. LEAFS and CANADIENS respect each other because they are two brothers from the official six team league.

I voted once and I'm not voting again. It's an Indiana Jones adventure just to make it to the voting. They want all this information: Name, e-mail address, blood type, hair color, blah blah blah! Then once you vote, you have to read a text box full of letters you can't read. Then they want you to type those letters in a text box. IT TOOK ME LIKE 7 TIMES TO GET IT RIGHT! So yeah, voting sucks this year. And shenanigans to the NHL for not having Tim Thomas on there. He played great last year.

I'm probably wrong, but I thought that the 20 games thing meant 20 games in their career, as in rookies who were shipped back to their junior teams/ AHL teams were ineligible. I can't find any more specific wording on if that is 20 career games or 20 games this season.

How many of us actually watch the All-Star game? The Skills competition is by far more excited due to the competitiveness and the laid back atmosphere. The All star game is a bunch of glorified pylons that are fearful of getting an injury after a night out at the bar with long time friends/peers in the game. It's a great weekend for the players...but, the actual game has lost a credibility.

Here's what I think the starting lineups SHOULD look like...
WEST: Getzlaf (or Marleau) centering Iginla(LW) and Hossa (RW), with Lidstrom and Phaneuf (or Weber) on D and Luongo in net
EAST: Malkin (or Crosby) centering Ovechkin and Semin (both LW because of the lack of potent RW's in the East), with Green and Kaberle (or Markov) on D, and Lundqvist in net.

They should get rid of the All-star game. The skills contest is stupid, and almost awkward, and the game is a joke.
Make an all-star team at the end of the season, that is selected by the players, and have them play the Stanley cup champions. Or the KHL all-stars...that would be worth watching, and the players would have some incentive to try. Gary Bettmen could even make it worth their effort +$.

Actually this is not the 100th year anniversary of Canadiens for crying out loud Steve. It's the anniversary because when your grand dad was young, they started to play. Then the Leafs were born and Canadiens has shown the Leafs as any other teams at their beginning how to play haaaky. Then they became a strong marvelous hockey team also and won almost as many Stanley cup as Canadiens.
