  • Damn, this shits hella fun to sing to also xD

  • MOAR! This is a really nice little groove and really fun to play along with. It's E mixolydian. Try adding the 7th's E7 Dmaj7. The funny thing is the turnaround as there is no C in E mixo and it screws me up every time. Need a better cue before the change. Its also a lot of fun to pull in the flat 3rd from E dorian to take it from jazzy to funky town.

  • dam i wish this was longer

  • I play the simple E major scale. But play across the fret board and not just on one spot.

  • i dont know why but the Emaj Dmaj Emaj Amaj progression works for me

  • sounds like waterfall from the all girl groupTLC slower though its the drums

  • NICE LEGO GUITAR!

  • Please teach me how to play like that. I heard indie artist John West play it and Im in love with that rhythm!!

  • so. . . I really, really, REALLY like this backing track. Like it's amazing to listen to just by itself. . . and then playing over it makes it sound even cooler. . . this is amazing. I love it.

  • E Major arpeggio, D Major arpeggio and C Major arpeggio worked for me...

  • try to play something that sounds good

  • LEGO GUITAR,

  • Gmaj pentatonic and E minor pentatonic work well as well. Also Emaj pentatonic, of course .

  • Amazing track man. Thanks a hell lot. Try uploading more ;). Subscribed :)

  • Lego Guitar!!!!!!! ;)

  • Use Emaj Dmaj and Cmaj arpeggios all over the neck over the corresponding chords. So don't just use them at random and wonder why it sounds terrible. When you hear the first chords use Emaj, when you hear the second chord, use Dmaj, The Cmaj only comes up twice in this track, so when you hear the chord that doesnt sound like the other two, try some Cmaj arpeggios.

Its not exactly bebop, but its great for fretboard visualization.

  • @DylanGalvinMusic Listen to this guy. He knows his shit.

  • @jawesome01 defineately does. or the people hes explaining the stuff to are retarded

  • @DylanGalvinMusic you dont have to bust your balls on that brah, just pop some E major scale or E major pentatonic that will do it or if you wanna try new phrases maybe B dorian, the song is not complex at all, and trust me this track has nothing to do with bebop man, what was that?, bebop is 2 5 1 so from E it has to be Fsharp-B-E, the song goes Emaj Dmaj three times than goes down to Cmaj Dmaj and Emaj as you said...

  • @ubbachuck , dude, you're a complete buzzkill. You completely misunderstood what he wrote - and he clearly isn't busting his balls - he's sharing some cool ideas. God. Music isn't about who can be the King or Queen of the hill - it's about sharing the longevity of the music. So just play and enjoy the track!

  • @DylanGalvinMusic my trumpet seems to be lacking a neck to play all over

  • @DylanGalvinMusic Wouldn't the Dmaj be diminished and the Cmaj be sharp?

  • @matt180389 Yes, you have the right idea, but only if this was completely diatonic in the key of E major. Its not. Dmaj7 and Cmaj7 are modal interchange chords, or chords borrowed from different keys. I would recommend practicing changing scales when those chords come up (D lydian over the D and C lydian over the C). Ionian isn't so great for modal interchange chords {the natural 4th sounds like balls}, it's usually best suited for the I chord of a key and thats it.

  • @DylanGalvinMusic

Ah ok, thank you. So what would the key be called if it doesn't use the same intervals? Or is it still Emaj?

  • @matt180389 It's still in E Major, but the mode (scale) I've found that suits the jam best is E Mixolydian. The Dmaj in the progression causes the 7th of the scale to be lowered half a step. So when you're soloing (mainly when it switches to the Dmaj chord), take into account that the 7th (of the scale) isn't a D# but a D.

  • @CoopNich

Got it now, thanks for the help.
