In 200 BC Budhism was born and flourished as the state of the area and the time did not do what was required of Sanatan Dharm to protect people, and promote peace, harmony and equity amongst the people. Hence the relegion grew, was incorporated as part of the Great Maurya kingdom of though they were of "Peace" they fought against other kingdom (Mostly Hindu) to promote and expand Budhism. However Sikhi and what it did for mankind in India is not what I am disputing, and I beleive falconi has resoluted to that as well. Hukamnama issued by Akal Takht Jathedar Sandhu Singh Bhaura dated February 15th 1980 that Amritdhari Sikhs can eat meat as long as it is jhatka meat and that eating meat does not go against the code of conduct, Kurehit, of the Sikhs. Thus a Sikh cannot be excommunicated for eating meat.

In 200 BC Budhism was born and flourished as the state of the area and the time did not do what was required of Sanatan Dharm to protect people, and promote peace, harmony and equity amongst the people. Hence the relegion grew, was incorporated as part of the Great Maurya kingdom of though they were of "Peace" they fought against other kingdom (Mostly Hindu) to promote and expand Budhism. Warefare knowledge came from Shastra vidya and conviction for expansion came from teaching of Buddism

The Gurus in their humble living were fighting odds to uphold Dharma, hence when Guru Hargobin made the commitment to the formation of Khalsa, Shastarvidya was bound to support the Guru and his ambition.

@IndiaforHindus if some one doesnt follow the moral codes of sikhism they are not sikh. even if they are fully baptized and say they are sikhs. real sikhism ended when the sikhs liberated the indus valley. the had their homeland and freedom. but then the caste system emerged from misls then into maharajas, then when people got diferrent amounts of land ( marabas and stuff). thats why they were easily divied and conquered by the british. when there is no caste the khalsa is unbeatable.
