I don't think that Honda really has a virtual DNA simulator. They may be able to evolve a virtual hydra but if you replace the virtual hydra DNA with virtual mouse DNA their simulator won't evolve you a virtual mouse.
have some of youve ever thought that when a child sees a robot it will try to get a response by screaming pushing and so on but when a robot sees a child the robot evaluates the child.
I believe only experimentation may help but the human model evolved for millions of years; now that does not mean it is the best of course but some parts are worth copying to technology and other we can leave out.
Well it is amazing, we can see Asimo is learning words watching objects but how can the I.A to learn all the subcategorys of the things? and the most important, how can it knows which is in the hierarchy of the things? it could this delay this for many many years.
With the all the due respect, I think you have seen too much movies and TV, ASIMO is great step for the engineering, and I think you have no clue about all the good technology that is behind ASIMO.
0 proteus 4 , forbin project , comes to mind proteus (demon seed movie) was a carbon copy of the human brain and functioned like one almost right to the structure of cells
1 Robby the robot ,I robot ! , Artificial intelligence Asimo(v) is close to this stage !
2 terminator 800 a litttle more bio to Asimo(v)
3 and replicant Bladerunner this stage is Asimo(v) future ! Say like Bicentenial Man !
Given the complexity of human cognition, and the challenges to producing a useful architecture (for anything, by anyone), compromise is inevitable. I'm thinking, why not converge from above, instead of below, for a better resultant compromise. Calibration constructs notwithstanding, is human intelligence really the best conceptual model? It's impressive, but in my opinion they've set their sites too low. Then again, they have a robot, and I don't, so don't take this too seriously.
I believe this robot will be good by default, however, like the modification of any hardware or software, it can be reprogrammed, which might cause a major problem. Asimo seems to be heading towards commercial development, and I think each one should have unique exteriors so that they don't get mixed up.
At 33 min he says that a more elegant solution would be an artificial skin but – for the Asimo robot – that's a thing that is still to come.
Well, for the iCub robot it is already here: watch?v=yQGXYGS0Ojo

I think they should start getting asimo to do things like pick up objects off the ground like a can but that would take a lot of research.

With increased computing power, this can only get better of course. Grasping objects takes much more than I thought.

@elmegapeluco It's one thing to recite an encyclopedia, but an entirely extraordinary thing to actually realize, and comprehend that information.
