I didn't like this movie at first cuz it didn't match how I imagined it in my mind when I read the book. I imagined it to be darker and emotionally deeper. The best things about this film are the great performances by Dillon Rourke and Hopper. I also really liked the black and white symbolizing the motorcycle boys color blindness so it ain't so bad.

I don't know. One of the best scenes, one of the best movies, Hopper, Dillon, Rourke, you just can't beat that. The book is great. The movie? Facinating. Full of thought and leaves you in comtemplation. I'd recommend Albert Camus to anyone interested in the Motorcycleboy character. I'd never heard of the man before seeing the movie, but found he got the pulitzer and was recommended for Rourke by Coppola to get a feel for the character. Amazing author, trust me.

Everything about Mickey Rourke was so different back them compared to now. His voice had a higher, smoother and more gentle pitch. Now it is very deep and rough. His face was also alot more gentle looking with finer features. He had that James Dean like vulnerability about him. He's still a great actor though.
