reliability statistics are for the birds sometimes.... give me a high end acura vs a base model chevy cobalt with zero options. Which one do we all think has the higher chance of failure? The acura!! Theres so many more things to go wrong whereas the economy 2 door base model doesnt even have power seats.. it doesnt have rear parking sensors etc.. It has so much less chance for failure b/c the features are minimal. Most reliability tests account for occurrences only. So do the math

@darkvader480 Are you serious... not quality? My Boss ownes a 2001 540i with 250,000 kms on it, and has never broken down ever, even at the -25C weather we live in for 5 months out of the year.. The reason why some people BMWs break down is because the smucks do not take care of the engine with regular maintanence. Changing your oil with synthetic every 10,000kms or so, and the finely tuned sophisticated pieces of german engineering will last well over 500,000+ kms. American is C-R-A-P

I think if you keep up on ALL maintenance. You shouldn't have ANY problems at all for 5-7 years. It's a Toyota Engine. They are made very well. All I've "heard" of BMW's is they are awesome brand new. But after 3 years you hit some serious problems..
It doesn't need to be kept up with maintenance. lexus IS350 goes on and on without problems. Lexus is not the same as Toyota in terms of build quality and the levels of QC. Lexus IS350 (as well as other lexus models made in japan) has its own plants, one of them is Tahara. There are no Toyota junks there. Lexus use expensive high quality parts and built with precision. Reliability is better than the Toyota. Toyota quality and reliability has gone down recently. Lexus stays up in the top spot.
Lexus stays good. I checked out the IS350 interior and is built better than Rolls Royce or Bentley. I checked the BMW 335i and the build quality was more like mazda3 or honda civic.. or maybe less than that.

Reliability and the other things you listed aren't the only things that contribute to whether a car is better or not. BMW has better performance and driving experience by far. I don't know about other people but I would take a BMW over a lexus anyday.

Also the interior fit/finish is horrible on the 335i. Made of cheap plastic and ugly looking dash and the rest of the interior. The instrument gauges don't look too bad but all the rest look ugly and feel cheap.
I raced one (335i sedan) you assholes (not directing at artcam1). We were side by side, dead even. I couldn't pull on him either could he. We ran upto 110 mph and had to stop due to traffic. You have to CHIP the 335i in order to beat the IS. How embarrassing is that you BMW fag boys. As for the reliability talk, maxou is on drugs... A complete retard. I know a guy who owns a silver 335i at work and often the car is in the shop. It's got too many issues, electrical to mechanical.
The 335i is about an even match with the IS350 in acceleration and feeling of power. The IS350 is much more luxurious on the inside and is more of a luxury car. The 335i however, is a much more responsive and a better handling car. To me, the 335i was just a lot more exciting to drive.
Yup, if both had perfect launch it would be about dead even. Road & Track ran both of them in the same weather and same location and got virtually same performance at 0-60 and quarter mile. At 110 mph though the IS350 was a tiny bit quicker... lol The BMW's suck though due to serious reliability problems... plus I can't stand BMW owners. They are so gay... they act like school girls. They are basically the same engine. The Block/internals are the same. The differences is the Direct Injection and a few other MINOR things that the Lexus has. The Engine has 2 versions but they are identical.The Lexus versions pump out 30 more HP Than The Toyota and only a few more IBS-FT of torque more.THEY ARE VERY MUCH THE SAME.

BMW has 47 international engine of the year awards, that is 45 more than ferrari, 44 more than porsche, 46 more than audi, and 47 more than jaguar. how many does the lexus have? not to mention other awards such as the 4.0L+ class where the v10 from the m5/m6 dominated?

being the largest manufacturer has nothing to do with the engine. the reason why its so big is because it makes great, affordable cars for everyone.
oh and fine hand selected/stitched merino/nappa leather, alcantara roof liners, personalized interiors with beautiful options such as contrasting stitching compared to lexus's plastic, and machine-stitched semi-aniline leather is def. quality my friend. also the ctsv engine didnt win any awards...

quality and reliability is different. quality, performance, and engineering is great on bmw but reliability is a problem. but hey i heard 2007+ models are a bit more reliable.

@darkvader480 Are you serious... not quality? My Boss ownes a 2001 540i with 250,000 kms on it, and has never broken down ever, even at the -25C weather we live in for 5 months out of the year.. The reason why some people BMWs break down is because the smucks do not take care of the engine with regular maintanence. Changing your oil with synthetic every 10,000kms or so, and the finely tuned sophisticated pieces of german engineering will last well over 500,000+ kms. American is C-R-A-P

@darkvader480, you idiot. There's more to it than just some engine differences. The body structure is entirely different. The drivetrain is not even the same. The gear ratios are different. IS350 is RWD. Camry is FWD. The build quality and parts quality are not the same you idiot bone penguin head.. Both cars do NOT get produced in the same plant either. Most Lexus cars get built in Tahara plant in Japan, with top notch QC. Camry are built in the states with lame ass labor jobs and low QC.

I think if you keep up on ALL maintenance. You shouldn't have ANY problems at all for 5-7 years. It's a Toyota Engine. They are made very well. All I've "heard" of BMW's is they are awesome brand new. But after 3 years you hit some serious problems..

It doesn't need to be kept up with maintenance. lexus IS350 goes on and on without problems. Lexus is not the same as Toyota in terms of build quality and the levels of QC. Lexus IS350 (as well as other lexus models made in japan) has its own plants, one of them is Tahara. There are no Toyota junks there. Lexus use expensive high quality parts and built with precision. Reliability is better than the Toyota. Toyota quality and reliability has gone down recently. Lexus stays up in the top spot.

Lexus stays good. I checked out the IS350 interior and is built better than Rolls Royce or Bentley. I checked the BMW 335i and the build quality was more like mazda3 or honda civic.. or maybe less than that.

Also the interior fit/finish is horrible on the 335i. Made of cheap plastic and ugly looking dash and the rest of the interior. The instrument gauges don't look too bad but all the rest look ugly and feel cheap.

I raced one (335i sedan) you assholes (not directing at artcam1). We were side by side, dead even. I couldn't pull on him either could he. We ran upto 110 mph and had to stop due to traffic. You have to CHIP the 335i in order to beat the IS. How embarrassing is that you BMW fag boys. As for the reliability talk, maxou is on drugs... A complete retard. I know a guy who owns a silver 335i at work and often the car is in the shop. It's got too many issues, electrical to mechanical.

The 335i is about an even match with the IS350 in acceleration and feeling of power. The IS350 is much more luxurious on the inside and is more of a luxury car. The 335i however, is a much more responsive and a better handling car. To me, the 335i was just a lot more exciting to drive.

Yup, if both had perfect launch it would be about dead even. Road & Track ran both of them in the same weather and same location and got virtually same performance at 0-60 and quarter mile. At 110 mph though the IS350 was a tiny bit quicker... lol The BMW's suck though due to serious reliability problems... plus I can't stand BMW owners. They are so gay... they act like school girls. OMG FAGGOTS!!!
