When Obama is president....all you niggers in the ghetto won't be any better off. Forced sterilization is the only thing that would work. It's "only" your Daddys fault that you don't have an education. Stop blaming whitey!! So you quit working at MacDonalds, and now you're robbing and selling drugs. Smart choice Coon. How is Obama going to help you now?? Maybe he'll bring in better prison food. Cheers.
Wow! It's amazing that racism like this still exists in todays world! It must take heaps of effort to maintain your prejudice and anger based on something as stupid as the colour of someones skin. Isn't there something better you could do with all that effort bigboy? Life's too short man, seriously.
I'm a realist! In poor inner city, USA. Unemployment, illiteracy, robbing, violent crime are the norm.

I'm Canadian. In the States, I've almost been the victim of violent crime twice. They're racist against me! I have nothing against black people.....Only ignorant violent niggers. Nigger is not a color, white people can be niggers too. But I don't ever see gangs of white niggers in the States. Come to a large US city soon, and see for yourself?
Lewis' stand against Obama has hurt him in Atlanta. If he gets re-elected, I will be surprised. His lack of judgment and indeediness to the Clintons makes him look more self serving than a servant of the people. He only supported Obama when he felt he had no choice. He said supporting Obama was more painful that being hit over the head during a 60s civil rights march.
And Lewis has been placed into the no no category. There were no fences on the plantation. And John's still not able to relinquish his indentured mentality. White people do not have friends. Their friends are pets. John Lewis is obviously Hilary's pet. John Lewis misinterpeted the relation as friendship.
Obama did not fight back when Hillary began her smear campaign against him and thus he lost Ohio which he could have EASILY won. He has CONSTANTLY allowed Hillary to use Rove tactics against him and now he paid for it. To bad the African American community will vote for someone who is a true race baiter like Hillary
John Lewis is endorsing Mr Obama now anyway. So, what he cant see at the time of this video, he sees it now... and this is very typical response from american. when they get to know BO, they will support him. when they know what BO stand for in this election, People will support him. that is why there are many people now rally for him. hmm.. May God Bless hIM.. obama08
Wtf? I'm pretty sure the race card was only raised when Bill Clinton compared Obama's win in South Carolina to Jesse Jackson.
Who was talking about race when Bill Clinton made the 'fairy tale' comment? Everything I watched took it as phrase meant to dismiss Obama, to say that the image he was projecting was false and not as good as the real thing.
Joey Lowery really raise the bar for any other Clintonian's attemp or from the media to the Barack Obama campain, good job! And to think the only a few months more and John Lewis would've jumped the bar to the Obama side...! I'm loving it, i'm voting for Obama and have no regrets...!
I think that with people leaving the Clinton camp left and right, that this is a signal that the American people have started to see that they no longer want to fight fire with fire. In other words, they see that "you can not solve a problem with the same mind that created it."
Hillary has been bitter & catty instead of running her campaign, this is not leadership. I am glad Mr. Lewis has changed his mind, this is so WONDERFUL, I have been truly sad at the contempt & ill heart of Hillary & God does not like the ugly. Happy Lewis decided to support (not a black man) but a man of dignity that has not retaliated & has kept his poise, HOW DOES BARACK DO THAT, truly the quality of a LEADER, not hillary up & down like a yoyo, no consistancy. BARACKKKKKKKKK!
Actually - John Lewis is NOT a Tom. He fought next to King and others to bring about change in this country. You benefit today because of his struggle. He is due our respect (even if he decided to support Clinton over Obama). He is just defending is candidate (in what is simply a political move). Really, Mr. Lewis' fight for civil rights has helped Obama more than any endorsement could ever. In other words, he and others made Obama's candidacy possible.
Are you ungrateful or just naive? Our elders paid the price for progress. Trust me -- the other side negotiated and demanded things that we will never know. Our elders were not just handed freedom and integration. I believe - Mr. Lewis and others are yet paying. In other words, he "owes" the Clintons (who represent the system). Call him Tom, but he has a role. If you don't understand what I mean, I encourage you to ask your grandparents or an elder.
While I respect everything Lewis did in the 1960s to secure Civil Rights, he has unfortunately become a "politician." He is not above criticism!! He has only won in the 5th District because he has run unopposed!! Out of all of the elected officials in Washington, DC that I have contacted about various issues--Lewis is the only one who has never returned a phone call! Many people are deeply disappointed by what John Lewis has become; and they were disappointed long before this election year.
Do you think his move into political office is independent of other events? It's not. Again - he is playing his role. Someone in your area needs to run against him instead of letting him have a free ride. But guess what? The "system" is banking on your community being complacent because Lewis is a black man.
Thanks. Lots of Clinton's supporters in West Virginia attempted to vote out Rockefeller who endorsed Obama despite the state going to Clinton. What hypocrites - huh?! They were not successful. Even under attack - Rockefeller did not change his endorsement. My point: You are damned if you do, damned if you don't. So it's important to follow your convinctions because not too many people will have mercy.
I'm still waiting..? Will some of these so called talking heads on the news programs ask this question....How is Hillary Clinton..the most polorizing of presidential candidates, the one you either love or hate, supposed to be able to work with Republicans if (god Forbid) she does actually become president? I mean for the last 7 years all she and the left have done is bash Bush on every issue. Hmmm should be another 4 years of infighting and not getting anything meaningful done.

Press Release Regarding Republican and Democratic Recounts will begin on Wednesday, January 16, 2008 at 9:30 a.m. at the State Archives and Records Management Building at 71 South Fruit Street, Concord, NH
Man - the media's been licking their lips for the democratic race to get nasty. Now that they think the race issue out of the bottle - they're over-covering it because they're afraid of being called liberal. Listen to what they're saying "well this is really a non-issue" "we're talking about it because the media is" THE AMERICAN MEDIA IS THE WORST NEWS MEDIA IN THE DEVELOPED WORLD.
Going to black churches, going on Arsenio Hall, and "dialoguing" about race did not help to advance the race. It was nice of them to do those things, but there have to be better examples of working to improve the lives of black people.
All of these Black politicians have taken the bait. Come on people!! I wish they would all decline these interviews! Don't let the media make race the issue!
Can someone tell me what Bill Clinton and Hillary Clinton have done for Black America? I ask that not to be snarky, I actually want to know. As a black person I haven't seen it. I'm curious to see if I'm wrong.
Pussycat: Bill and Hillary Clinton have attended Black churches, sung Black hymns, had Black entertainers at the White House, had a dialogue on race, although they ignored the committee that facilitated the dialogue's findings, Bill Clinton played the saxophone on Arcenio Hall's TV show...they've done lots of things like that for Black people.

i agree. someone need to show proof that obama is doing something like this. people are just making up stuff and taking in hearsay. SOMEONE need to show some proof. what i've seen is hillary is talking about MLK and LBJ and thats about it. SO LET THERE BE SOME PROOF that obama is doing something back about it.
Arguing like children. Both are staying in the middle east, both are threating a country which has yet to attack or threaten us, both are endorsed by the current education system so nothing will change there, both are collecting money from health care, your looking at two different fingers of the same hand.
Sorry, but I don't think Obama voted for classifying Iran's Revolutionary Guard as a terrorist organization like Hillary did. And to be endorsed by a teacher's union doesn't translate into status quo. And which health care company donated money to Obama? Obama and Hillary the same? Not even close.
To say your against the war, and sign a check to fund the war at the same time is a bit .... Obama takes money from the same hedge funds that invest in the Heath insurance companies. Is he for a None profit health care? Does a system work that makes a profit of not providing care to people? What will he change ? our independence on Oil? by switching to Nuclear energy, which means we will be dependent on Uranium? run out of that in 10 15 years?
Lowery and the Obama campaign continue to say lets focus on the issues while the Bill and Hillary Clinton camp keep trying to blame the Obama camp for their own misstatements that are, at best, racially tone-deaf. I think Juan Williams is right, the Clintons want to remind voters that Obama is black, hoping that this will derail his momentum.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
Wrong. The Obama campaign has tried to perpetuate this issue because of South Carolina. There are videos on YouTube of his surrogates doing everything but calling Hillary and Bill racists. If it in fact weren't for Hillary trying to ground this issue on Meet the Press it would be escalated higher than it is already.
HA! Hillary the one who's trying to ground this issue?! Not only did she start it, but she's accused Obama, in that same Meet the Press interview, of making this a "race issue", something Obama hasn't even addressed. And how do you defend Bob "sellout" Johnson's remarks?
Obama has used his surrogates to perpetuate this issue-and he didn't condemn them until the debate last week where they had to call a truce. Because in a debate Hillary always wins-she's the one who the facts support. She's the one with the substance.
Rubbish! Show me one place where Obama said anything about this... At most his campaign did was talk about the genuineness of tears... Never did they play the race card...
His supporters might have but again it is not his official style of doing things. It is not in his interest to do so either. He did play the voter intimidation card himself 2x but never the race one. It is people who say that he is a racist are racist themselves.
ugh enough! freakin punditry will DESTROY the Democrats!
If John Lewis can actually produce these memos hes talking about, the Obama camp can produce the memos the Clinton camp used to swift-boat Obama on pro-choice (NARAL came out to set the record straight). This kind of tit-for-tat politics is what Clinton and Obama need to stop.
I applaud John Lowery for staying above the frey But John Lewis-i am deeply, deeply disappointed in him. I've lost a considerable amount of respect for Mr.Lewis.
this is funny, so hilarious but sad, the top 2 democrats talk about uniting, experience, giving hope to america and look at this bulllshit, might not be them but they are part of the situation, and still dividing when there isnt a Democractic President in the oval office yet, but rather giving hope to division instead
This "divisiveness" is driven by the Hillary camp, and it's highlighted in this video. Obama has remained above the fray and will continue to be. And besides, this doesn't come close to the Republican's politics of fear and hatred.
Although I appreciate your sentiment, it is foolish to underestimate the role of race relations in the US when discussing progress towards an equitable future for all Americans.
The only way to work seriously on the problems is to maintain an open national dialogue on race. IMHO. ;-)
Lowery really came off as the bigger person here; Lewis was in full attack mode the whole interview. Lewis wasn't explaining or discussing; he was selling.
Sharpton does not want to hurt Obama's campaign (because Sharpton is considered be "controversal" and "radical" in the media. It's not fair that the media has demonized Sharpton, because he is a fighter for the rights of his people. But if Sharpton had endorsed or had been publicly supportive of Obama's campaign, it would have been used against Obama. Look at how the media is pushing Obama on the Farrakhan comment. It was not an endorsement but Obama was "forced" to denounce it.
Al Sharpton is a fighter for the rights of black Americans, exclusively. That is why he is considered to be a racist-media-jore joke.
I was well aware of why Al Sharpton has remained in the shadows druing this Clinton presidential nomination fiasco. I was being sarcastic and facetious.
Does.... does anyone see the clear video cuts? Does anyone actually see a clear point from any perspective in this video? Does anyone actually think this video makes any sense??? Is he for a None profit health care? Does a system work that makes a profit of not providing care to people? What will he change ? our independence on Oil? by switching to Nuclear energy, which means we will be dependent on Uranium? run out of that in 10 15 years?

Lowery and the Obama campaign continue to say lets focus on the issues while the Bill and Hillary Clinton camp keep trying to blame the Obama camp for their own misstatements that are, at best, racially tone-deaf. I think Juan Williams is right, the Clintons want to remind voters that Obama is black, hoping that this will derail his momentum.

not that race should matter but it does, isnt his mom white? and what makes him black not white instead of half and half
koch46 4 years ago
huh?
gbgzp 4 years ago
Yeah just keep beating each other over the head with this stuff instead of talking about the issues.

Lowery is 100% right... Excellent statement.

Devin1498 4 years ago
HA! Hillary the one who's trying to ground this issue?! Not only did she start it, but she's accused Obama, in that same Meet the Press interview, of making this a "race issue", something Obama hasn't even addressed. And how do you defend Bob "sellout" Johnson's remarks?
gbgzp 4 years ago
Bob Johnson doesn't even have credibility. He needs to go back to running that sorry excuse of an NBA Team and stay out of politics.
Supadave7 4 years ago
Obama has used his surrogates to perpetuate this issue-and he didn't condemn them until the debate last week where they had to call a truce. Because in a debate Hillary always wins-she's the one who the facts support. She's the one with the substance.
Devin1498 4 years ago
Rubbish! Show me one place where Obama said anything about this... At most his campaign did was talk about the genuineness of tears... Never did they play the race card...
PreetSG 4 years ago 9
Obama's surrogates have said it which is just as bad-Obama's campaign crossed the line, and have proven to be classless racists themselves.
Devin1498 4 years ago

I've lost a considerable amount of respect for Mr.Lewis.

this is funny, so hilarious but sad, the top 2 democrats talk about uniting, experience, giving hope to america and look at this bulllshit, might not be them but they are part of the situation, and still dividing when there isnt a Democractic President in the oval office yet, but rather giving hope to division instead
mandoelpaso 4 years ago
This "divisiveness" is driven by the Hillary camp, and it's highlighted in this video. Obama has remained above the fray and will continue to be. And besides, this doesn't come close to the Republican's politics of fear and hatred.
gbgzp 4 years ago 3
The race card should never be used, or the gender card, let's elect whomever will lead our troops out of Iraq the fastest, seriously, this is juvenile.
dingorex 4 years ago 4
Although I appreciate your sentiment, it is foolish to underestimate the role of race relations in the US when discussing progress towards an equitable future for all Americans.
The only way to work seriously on the problems is to maintain an open national dialogue on race. IMHO. ;-)

Why are they still talking about this?
Good grief.
C'mon, folks. Ron Paul 2008.

We were doing very well by not touching this non -issues, go fucking figure the media using this bullshit to make us look like ignorant people again.
gallomex13 4 years ago 4
Lowery really came off as the bigger person here; Lewis was in full attack mode the whole interview. Lewis wasn't explaining or discussing; he was selling.

The media love this B S....They love finding stupid mis-educate black on tv to embracement themselve with division...fall for that trap

Hey, where's Al Sharpton in all of this? Why is he being so quiet? Hmmm. LOL!
Shultzgti 4 years ago
Sharpton does not want to hurt Obama's campaign (because Sharpton is considered be "controversal" and "radical" in the media. It's not fair that the media has demonized Sharpton, because he is a fighter for the rights of his people. But if Sharpton had endorsed or had been publicly supportive of Obama's campaign, it would have been used against Obama. Look at how the media is pushing Obama on the Farrakhan comment. It was not an endorsement but Obama was "forced" to denounce it.
vonniewit 3 years ago
Al Sharpton is a fighter for the rights of black Americans, exclusively. That is why he is considered to be a racist-media-jore joke.
I was well aware of why Al Sharpton has remained in the shadows druing this Clinton presidential nomination fiasco. I was being sarcastic and facetious.
