  • 4:22 Odo totally kicks that Klingon in the balls!!!

  • I think the simple answer to the whole Odo not shape-shifting is due to the budget. The Ship fights and the Station/Fleet fight prob used up the entire budget not to mention production time

  • @nemesisprime6901 And dont forget this is all done with physical models for the most part not CGI

  • used to be an adventurer like you, then i took a bat'leth to the knee

  • Wharf just goes badass in the hand to hand.

  • Some of those Klingon ships are old ones from TOS are they not?

  • @invisiblejaguar1 They are indeed. Those K'tinga-class and Birds of Prey were pretty popular in the TOS era.

  • Cool, thanks for the reply :-)

  • Boy could that station fight!!! They should build one in orbit around Earth in case the Federation's enemies get any stupid ideas.

  • Would have been nice to have seen that Galaxy Class come in firing!!!!

  • @dlawson688 the enterprise d?

  • @whynotbig

USS Venture. By this point the D was destroyed. That's why Worf was there.

  • @whynotbig no, the Venture, earlier in this episode obrien and worf talk about its destruction during generations

  • @SpartanPrimus what was the discution it was some time

  • Gowron is a part of anonymous?

    8:18

  • DS9 really liked fleet battles

  • @LivesForJihad ds9 is a week vesel it meant only as an observant and repair as all space station

  • @whynotbig

That's why it whooped alot of ass, right?

  • @sfs2040 the defiant is a better fighter and more manuverble that is why they add it to dsn wich maid warf a lt comander

  • @whynotbig

You need to research your facts. As you can see from this battle, DS9 held up well against the Klingons. Assuming the Dominion attacked with a similar strength, it looked like DS9 could hold up against a sustained assault long enough for reinforcements to arrive.

Second, the Defiant was attached to DS9 to help the station fight the Dominion, as well as being able to scout out away from the station, and be able to fight its way out of trouble.

    Also, Worf was promoted while

  • @whynotbig still on the Enterprise D. After the D was destroyed, he went on extended leave. Only for Way of the Warrior did he come back, and join the DS9 crew. He already was a Lt. Cmnder by his first appearance on DS9.

Please look up your facts next time. And also, your typing is bad. Even worse than normal. I could barely understand you.

  • @sfs2040 well even thow i understand english it is my second luanguage making a weak english when speaking and i mustve mixed up is promotion to tactical dsn and is lt comander promotion

  • @whynotbig First, no, Worf remains a Lt Cmdr throughout the series.

Second, DS9 is a space station, not a ship. The Defiant can fly to other star systems. DS9 stays in one place, it almost never moves (the 2 times I can think of where it does are special situations). I can't understand how you can get the 2 confused. Also, DS9 is more powerful weapons-wise as it's established DS9 has plenty of fire power to destroy the Defiant.

  • @sfs2040 ok sorry i should have said vesel as to generalising now just make me FEEL bad just because english is like i said not my first langage

  • @whynotbig

You can't generalize in English like that. It confuses people. Also, vessel is another word for a ship as well. Station is really the only word to describe DS9.

  • @sfs2040 nice way to soften the hedge thanks for the tip but i thought the defiant class (as for where the defiant ship in dsn got is name) where first design for battle

  • @whynotbig

It was, but has nowhere near enough firepower to challenge DS9 at this point by itself. The Defiant has firepower comparable to a Klingon ship at least, and you saw how easy those were being swatted down by the station.

DS9 is like a fortification. One ship is not enough to take it down. You need a fleet.

  • @sfs2040 yeah but didnt station been creat to observe or in this case to make a port for the wormwhold

  • @whynotbig

It's a long story, but DS9 was originally Cardasian, and Starfleet took it over after the Cardies left Bajor. Soon after the wormhole was discovered, and the station was moved to its mouth to help Bajor stake a claim to it. After first contact with the Dominion, the station's defenses were upgraded to what you see in this video.

^I suggest you use this link if you have further questions, just replace the commas with periods.

  • @sfs2040 what are you doing to actualy have this much time to comment this much

  • @sfs2040 and btw this another shortcut by me i knew that already but what i mean is that i thought usualy stations where weak

  • @whynotbig 1. It's none of your fucking business.

    2. Not necessarily, there is nothing out there to indicate that stations HAVE to be weak.

  • @sfs2040 i never said have to be and btw im unemployed

  • @sfs2040 plus i was assuming that usualy the defiant was the battle ship of the two and they just got lucky in this episode

  • STAR WARS FOR THE WIN

  • Who would start a war for Gul Dukat and some other Cardi's

  • This series was great, Sisko is way cool, that last series was so lame even that blalock sexy Vulcan couldn't help it tanking. Sad.

  • Capt Sisko: "Witness the power of this fully operational battle station!"

    Kira: "Say what?"

Capt Sisko: "Sorry, couldn't resist a Star Wars joke"

  • These Klingons seem so campy to me after watching Star Trek VI. They've been devolved to almost stereotypes. :/

  • gowrons eyes!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @matchbox2022 in TNG, gowron busted those same michael jackson thriller eyes!

  • this is how you do Star Trek! fuck you JJ!!!!!

  • @NCC63549 Uh, no. This isn't how you do Star Trek. TNG and TOS are how Star Trek is done. DS9 was just World War II fan fiction that was set in space.

  • why do all those bird of preys are gettin pulverized like gnats??????

  • @JohnnyLop87 If memory serves me correctly Bird of Prey's are the weakest Klingon ships when it comes to shields, armor etc. So they are easy to reduce to space rubble.

  • @SandsOfArrakis yes i know, but i remember many bloody conflicts with bird of preys involved that do have a proper defense...

  • @JohnnyLop87 Well a theory that comes from the Daystrom Institute website is that the BOPs in this were a much smaller gunship/fighter type, they only scale out to be about 28-35 meters long, that's way smaller then the 109m standard ships like IKS Rotarren.

  • At least Kira and Dax are not reduced to cracking clay pots over the heads of the Klingons. (I guess the writers learned from the Next Generation episode "Qpid" what NOT to have the women doing).

  • Sisko: Mr. O'Brien?

    O'Brien: Yeah....

Sisko: Get those shields back online.

O'Brien: But sir, I'm hurt. Why can't you do it? Why do you order me around more than everyone else on the station?

Sisko: You better get going before I send you back to your old job of managing transporters!

    O'Brien: I hate you sir.....

  • In the Star Trek verse the species who seems more physically stronger than Humans are the Klingons, Romulans and Vulcans. Star Trek (2009) seems to rectify the notion of Romulans being more powerful than an average Human when Ayel neck lifted Kirk, the final fight scene in the Narada, and commented how weak Humans were.

  • amazing these battle hardened klingons getting owned by women

  • Why doesn't Odo just turn his arms into blades and go all T-1000 on them?

  • @Bloodgod40 in the novel at least he didn't want to risk any kilngons escaping and reporting that starfleet was harboring changelings.

  • @DarkAutumnNight

But they already knew he was a Changeling.

  • @Bloodgod40 Indeed! The writers really dropped the ball in regards to Odo. They could have made this scene much more interesting!

  • @kosstmoran wasent he human at the time... or did he get his shpe shifting back at the time?

  • @inuyasha32 He was still a shape-shifter in this episode.

  • @Bloodgod40

    Budget?

  • Odo likes the old-school type of hand to hand combat

  • Klingon stabs Kira in the back, she then pulls the knife out and kills the Klingon with her bare hands. How badass is she?

  • worf jadzia and sisko are just dropping klingons left and right

  • 4:09 they never saw that coming did they xD

  • 2:15 Say hello to our little friends!

  • I think it is so cool that Sisko, Worf, and Dax are the last three who remain standing. (Not even Kira managed to pull that off!)

  • how come the klingons are so weak?

  • @Triple25mm They are fighting the main characters

  • @AltataAlcatraz the dynamics are inconsitant because its a 45 minute show, they didnt get much in the way of air time so they had to make it quick sometimes where as sometimes they could just go mental

  • Worf shanking fools without even looking!!!

  • If Captain Kirk was still alive by 2372...

  • 3:17 that Vorcha got owned.

  • 3:04

    Worf: who is will?

  • this episode is badass and Worf is the icing on the cake

  • they should just install a phaser array at the top center of the command area. it would stun anyone that beams in. boarding problems = solved.

  • If Klingons are meant to be so much tougher than humans, how is it these guys seem to beat them fairly easy.

  • @Cennobite1

They don't really seem to be. They just really like to fight. Basically it's a whole race of badass biker dudes.

  • @Jerkwad152 Lol! What a great way to describe the klingons!

  • @Cennobite1 They were fighting mostly Bajorans.

  • @AltataAlcatraz

It's all based on the theory that space is like water.

  • One HELL of a fight!!!

  • It's a pleasure watching Worf kick butt. Smooth moves and such.

  • @AltataAlcatraz uh, exactly what I said.

  • @AltataAlcatraz and sometimes all it takes is one or two shots to kill a ship... I know where your coming from

  • The startrek hand 2 hand fight scenes where always terrible.

  • This one is among the best Trek episodes. The Trek genre usually stays away from portraying violence involving thousands of people, with the exception of this one and several others in DS9. Indulging in mayhem and kick-ass moments feels rather refreshing! :D

  • Yeah, Garak and the other guy vs 10+ Klingons!!

  • The Klingons are better fighters than THAT

  • What gets me is at this time and for a little after Galron seems very focused and clear but later he goes completely bat shit sending out suicide missions I dont like the route they took with him

  • @mattsmt20 He was being replaced off and on by the changling infiltrator.

  • Lol at Gowron's eyes right before he cuts communication.

By the way, who was the Klingon next to Gowron? It looked kind of like Martok, but Martok was generally a lot wiser and knew how to pick his battles better than Gowron.

  • @tf2whackyengineer It was Martok, but it was a changeling.

  • Klingons are supposed to be far stronger than humans, and yet here they are getting whooped by a girl. A girl that got stabbed.lol

  • @rax989

Only Worf seems to be stronger than humans. Klingons seem to be about the same, only they really like to fight.

  • @Jerkwad152 Really? I know that the Vulcans are 2 or 3 times stronger than humans, but I didn't expect the Klingons as strong as humans.

  • @rax989

Well, if you look at on-screen feats of strength, Klingons don't appear to be any stronger than humans. Picard beats up at least three whenever he sets foot on the Klingon homeworld. Worf is an exception, but he's a master of the Klingon equivalent of kung fu as well, and obviously lifts a lot of weights. :)

As for Vulcans, they would seem to be about 40% stronger, with the exception of Spock, who seems to be about 600% stronger according to the episode where he bent that metal pipe.

  • @Jerkwad152 Strange. Always thought they were stronger. Vulcans are definitely stronger, although my only source is that Sisqo's girlfriend said that he was foolish to challenge a Vulcan to a wrestling match since they are 3 times stronger. But then, it's been years since I've watched this show.

  • @rax989

That's true, she said that. But I don't think he'd have challenged the man if he didn't have a shot at winning.

  • @rax989 yeah that doesnt make sense haha..my conclusion she was on the rag..mean bitch

  • @rax989 That "girl" is Kira who has fought in many batles and has had lots of combat training and experience.

  • @Jharmainyack1 I'm well aware who she is. I've watched every DS9 episode.Nevertheless Klingons should be stronger.

  • @rax989 a battle hardened resistance fighter who drove someone from occupied land.

  • This is my all-time favorite battle scene out of all the 5 Star Trek series. Not only do you see the crew fighting for their very lives, but you also (for the first time) see an old Cardassion Space Station's weapondry at it's best.Go Sisko...

  • @danjosmcm Except that's not Cardassian weaponry, that's the best the Federation has to offer and alot of it. They were beefing up the station to handle an attack from the Dominion, so obviously it's going to kick some serious ass.

  • I remember this being so huge when it first came out!! This isn't CG at all guys, all epic model work. Crops to the Visual effects teams that work on Star Trek, y'all are awesome!

  • anyone else here think "HELL YEAH" when all those additional hidden weapons started sliding out of panels on the hull?

  • Whomever gave this video a thumb down should be shot with a phaser :-P

  • im curious how many klingons did they kill? they knocked out alot

  • A Batletlh would be useless against Odo, he'd just shift around it. No internal orgams or bones to damage, so I don't know why the Doctor was worried...

  • @STNeish Was this before or after he got turned into a human? O_o

  • @tremedar Before

  • @SMP0328 Ah, it's been so long since I saw the episode where he killed the changeling that was wreaking havoc on the defiant which got himself in hot water with the founders I couldn't remember where in the timeline it was to this.

  • me thinks that Bat'leth combat should be a required course at starfleet academy

  • This fight was so incredibly campy......oh wait that was from Family Guy.....BUT....this VIDEO was soo dumb. So, incredibly stupid. Realy, do none of the Soviet...I mean Klingon....ships have shields? And the same "Oh, oh, ah" lines of the Russian...I mean Klingon....guys getting punched by the asexual annal retentive security dude. Really. So glad I never watched this show.

  • "I guess the Klingons will never forget whats happened? I would think they would like to forget all about getting their rearends kicked.

  • love ds9 but those fight scenes are so fake xD

  • nothing like reenacting a medieval battle on the bridge of your science-fiction spacestation

  • Did the Klingons not have shields. I know K'Tinga Class Bird of Preys are weak.... but they were exploding in one shot. That's just ridiculous.

  • @HarakMolova The CG guys said they decided to do that in order to make the battle scenes go faster and be more dramatic on TV, remember they only get a few seconds of visual effects every now and then. Other people suggested that because its a station, it can mount heavier more powerful weaponry than a typical ship.

  • Gowron was such an ass. It gave me such joy when Worf killed him.

Worf barely broke a sweat dispatching those boarding troops with just a mekhleth.

  • Imagine if DS9 was armed with Quantum torpedos. That would be a pretty short fight.

  • @22cevans it should have quantum torpedos unforatunatly the writers did not want ds9 to have it so too bad

  • I've always wondered why the Defiant didn't take part in this battle...

  • @SuperSaiyanAl Because Defiant took some damage rescuing Dekat and wasn't fit for battle.

  • Yeah, but docked it's just a sitting duck. Easy target for the Klingons. She'd have a better shot at survival in the fray, battle damage and all.

  • Worf is unstoppable!!!!

  • deep space 9 is the best star trek series EVER. i would rather have a single new episode of this than a new star trek movie... god i miss it

  • "The Way of The Warrior" was DS9's own "Best of Both Worlds". An epic ass-kicking adventure that made people stand up and take notice of the series.

It was a terrific season opener and stands as one of the show's most exciting installments.....

    Great story....

  • Is it me or did you notice how the staged the 2 Bajorans were waiting for the Klingons to come around the pylon? It's like, "hold postion and ACTION!" lol

  • I've always liked how Worf fights...very fluid... :)

  • If I am Sisko, I really would like to find just any excuse to punch Dukar in his face

  • @eddielung31 same but i'd prefer to punch Weyoun in the face when he comes along

  • @eddielung31 Be the Mirror universe sisko he is reallY cooL

  • WHY ARE THERE EXPLOSIONS IN SPACE?

  • @inamerica55585 because antimatter explosions and plasma ruptures dont require oxygen to burn

  • @gaarathesandslayer Any ship that is destroyed also releases oxygen.

  • @pwhitmore84 this is true, yes. there are a few instances though, where there is no hull breach and there is fire. i was just being as broad ranged with my answer as possible.

  • @gaarathesandslayer I know, I was just building on your answer:)

  • @gaarathesandslayer Well why is there sound in space?

  • @aquateenhngrfrce there isnt. theres just special effects added in so the battle scenes seem more awesome and not just bland soundless things happening.

  • It is moments like this that make me hate star trek. I mean COME ON cardassians and Bojorans whopping klingon ass? that is redicilous klingons are biologically, culturally and menthaly great combatants. A handful of crewmen with a little hand to hand combat training take out monsters that are far superior in stregth, size, agility and have double sets of organs and body functions to back em up if they were injured in combat. the stupidity of the scene makes me long for more pacifistic ST.

  • @teliosteroide Yeah my money is on a broken hand when punching a klingon.

  • The Federation needs to get hold of some lightsabers.......

  • @Darthbelal you, sir, are a genius, and a Star Trek-Star Wars crossover would be quite interesting, can we have lightsabers that can fire photon torpedoes while we're at it? =P

  • @willmott2k10 Respectfully, 'Star Trek' is owned by CBS and 'Star Wars' is owned by Lucasfilm. I was once a Trekkie and a Warsie.

  • @Darthbelal

They don't need one to kick asses

  • @Darthbelal ...nah, Minbari fighting pikes!

  • Kligon kicked to dead @ 5:33 xD

  • @busss64 What a pussy, and I'd say that to his face!

  • Anyone else ever notice how easy it is for Worf to kill Klingons? Never any hesitation whatsoever.

  • Klingon troubles? No problem...call 1-900-Mr.Worf...son of Whisky. AHHA! I just love this clip!! When I taped this show, for the first time, I think I wore out the tape, after watching it soo many times.

  • Is it just me or does the soundtrack sound a lot like Star Trek Generations?

  • @ransom182

It's the same composer on both.

  • major plot hole.... those phasers... well they are phasers... thats a dominion station, the weapons are the wrong colour

  • @axom20 Actually the station was upgraded with Starfleet weaponry.

  • None of the poise of pickard but that right amount of assholeness

  • Bah Gowron was brilliant...at being irresistable to watch.

  • 4:26 Odo looks worried, but surely the batt'leth (not sure if that's how you spell it or not) would go right through him =S

  • If there wil ever be a fanedit of WotW, I hope that there will be lots of blood in the OPS. :D

  • Hmm.......somehow seeing Jadzia beaing the hell out of those klingons kinda turns me on lol

  • @FloridaLawDawg Know de feeling

  • @FloridaLawDawg Those poor Klingons never stood a chance, lol.

  • @FloridaLawDawg ya jadzia was da shit!

  • Kira: "It's just a flesh wound..."

  • Worf is pretty handy in fight in DS9. It looks like all those times he got beaten up by Deanna Troi in TNG finally gave him the kick up the backside he needed to be less of a wuss.

  • Worf is a killing machine!

  • @lcmorgan1221 all Klingons=killin' machines but Worf=relatively mellow compared w/other Klingons. He stopped gettin' owned on Enterprise's bridge all the time after Reunion. Glad he aced Durass' treacherous butt.

  • hoo-ya!

O'Brien got owned, but good moves by the others, especially Dax.

  • @incdogrobber And that makes no sense, you'd think that out of all of 'em, the Irish one would be able to kick a little ass.

  • @lcmorgan1221 agreed. No dissin' the Irish. I've... been in some scrapes & on one occasion some guys with square jaws & red hair had my back even without the aforementioned hand-to-hand combat training.

perhaps O'Brien needs to get some more hand-to-hand combat training. the guy's an engineering chief. Dax has several lifetimes of experience as both man & woman so...oh, the possibilities but let's keep it G-rated. Sisko came from the hood in the Big Easy so there U go.
