Currently the soil is 10cm deep. We've planned to have 30cm when they grow and we move them to a bigger terrarium. Butterfly agamas like to dig deep.
Some sources claim that butterfly agamas dig to the bottom no matter how deep your sand soil is and when they hit the glass they just keep going and break their nails. Therefore under the sand layer there's a thin layer of unfertilized compost soil to test if they would stop digging when they hit it. Let's see how it works :)
