@AdrianCockings It's great for video and creates a really unique look, but it depends how powerful the light needs to be. If you are trying to light up a subject a fair distance away - keep in mind this light is 48 LED's. There are other lights (not macro ring, mind you) that range up to 135 LED's.

The FC100 is much better but to be honest they both suck.
If you're looking for a reasonably cheap ring flash with TTL check out the Marumi DRF 14C.
