It's obvious that the figures are only half painted.. They come in blue, red and black. Once finished, I'm sure they'll all match up quite well. Good job.
P.S. You could've just buit the chapel on a separate board instead of moving it up, a-laTHE ALAMO (2004).
I would repaint the red coatee infantry to blue, same with what looks like black coatee. That was Wayne's vision and poor research. Much of the cavalry did have red coatees, but only regimental music for infantry. Also, myabe throw in som medium blue trousers with a red stripe would be a nice touch.
Doing an Alamo diorama myself and am using old glory miniatures (25mm) . For ultimate accuracy, I used sketches of the chapel (from 1839 - 1849) from "Alamo: An Illustrated History". I ended up shaving off pieces of the chapel. I was out at the Alamo movie set in Dripping Springs and took some photos, so that helped me (and being from San Antonio also). Would also recommend the following book, "The Illustrated Alamo 1836, a photographic journey" by Mark Lemon.
Lots of potential, but would recommend additional research for historical accuracy (if you are trying to achieve that). For example, your chapel is in the wrong place, but not sure what look you are going for.
YOU ARE ABSOLUTELY CORRECT. I PLACED THE CHAPEL THERE BECAUSE OF A SPACE PROBLEM. I ALSO HAD TO LEAVE OUT TWO PIECES OF THE KIT FOR THE SAME REASONS. THIS SCENE, WHEN FINISHED, WILL BE ON TWO 8 x 4 BOARDS. I'VE DONE PLENTY OF RESEARCH ON THIS PROJECT AND THE ONLY THING I HAVE TO GET MORE INFO ON, IS THE TERRAIN AROUND THE MISSION. THANK YOU FOR VIEWING MY PROJECT.
This project is unsurpassed. The attention to detail is beyond belief. A sure sign of patience and dedication. KEEP UP THE MARVELOUS WORK and looking forward to more!
Love the diorama and love the music too. Marty Robbins can't be beat.
