oh my god i feel old...haha...i was obsessed with the london boys when i was 5 years old..i used to dance around to this .....this was the 1st record i bought and my mum taught me to play it on the record player...ah the memories
WOW good find. I was still at juniors when this came out. I remember it at the school disco. Everyone got up off the seats and started dancing when this one came on. Those were the days.
Fuller, Ephraim, Edem's German wife Bettina, their mutual friend - a Hamburg DJ - and the Swiss driver all died. Edem and his wife left behind a son, Stevie, who was 3 years old at the time of the tragedy. Dennis had a daughter, Laura, who was 10.
Edem and Dennis both died in a car accident on 21 January 1996. They travelled in Austrian Alps on a mountain road on their way to a skiing holiday and along the route met a car driven by an inebriated driver who was trying to pass at the opposite side of the road. Apparently, the Swiss driver had kept overtaking other cars in dangerous places on that road beforehand and in bad weather conditions for a couple of miles until he finally hit their car head-on.
Their manager and one of their wives was also killed in the same crash. That couple had two kids who lost both their folks at the same time. The other guy just had one kid (I think). Poor kids. :o(
just celebrate, people. None of us are immune from what happened to these great guys. Celebrate the fantastic music they left behind, dance and be happy
@led29122 well, I guess that tells us all, doesn't it! But I go along with that. It was an awful tragedy, (which I've only just found out about). but best to remember what great performers they were and no doubt great guys
yeah I know Edem & his wife Betina died so are you saying Dennis' wife/other half didnt die??.
Dennis had a daughter called Laura who is now about 22. Edem has a son Steven who is now about 15. I use to be friends with Steven's cousin on the net
Yeah, according to the news (and it was 1996 so I've forgotten the details) Dennis' partner wasn't killed. I hope not anyway. Their music is still awesome, despite what some muppets on here think, and the fact that they were sadly killed just makes the music they left behind even more precious.

London Boys were a German based, British dance pop duo comprising Edem Ephraim (born 1 July 1959, London) and Dennis Fuller (born 19 June 1959, Jamaica), both of whom were killed in an Alpine car accident in Austria on 21 January 1996.
Although they lived near Hamburg, Germany since 1981, they had actually met when they were at school in Greenwich, London.
the london boys rocked. loved this and requiem when it was out, used 2 fill the floors in the clubs back in the day, i never could pull off the backflip tho lol, good memories, thanx guys rip xx
Intro influenced heavily by Depeche Mode's Enjoy the Silence... end of the chorus "I-I-I-I-I-I- wanna get up tonight..." influenced heavily by Black Lace!
