  • Fuller, Ephraim, Edem's German wife Bettina, their mutual friend - a Hamburg DJ - and the Swiss driver all died. Edem and his wife left behind a son, Stevie, who was 3 years old at the time of the tragedy. Dennis had a daughter, Laura, who was 10.

  • @xtrudex how did they die in an accident and when did this happen thanks?

  • Comment removed

  • Edem and Dennis both died in a car accident on 21 January 1996. They travelled in Austrian Alps on a mountain road on their way to a skiing holiday and along the route met a car driven by an inebriated driver who was trying to pass at the opposite side of the road. Apparently, the Swiss driver had kept overtaking other cars in dangerous places on that road beforehand and in bad weather conditions for a couple of miles until he finally hit their car head-on.

  • RIP (((((

  • Their manager and one of their wives was also killed in the same crash. That couple had two kids who lost both their folks at the same time. The other guy just had one kid (I think). Poor kids. :o(

  • just celebrate, people. None of us are immune from what happened to these great guys. Celebrate the fantastic music they left behind, dance and be happy

  • @led29122 well, I guess that tells us all, doesn't it! But I go along with that. It was an awful tragedy, (which I've only just found out about). but best to remember what great performers they were and no doubt great guys

  • yeah I know Edem & his wife Betina died so are you saying Dennis' wife/other half didnt die??.

Dennis had a daughter called Laura who is now about 22. Edem has a son Steven who is now about 15. I use to be friends with Steven's cousin on the net

  • Yeah, according to the news (and it was 1996 so I've forgotten the details) Dennis' partner wasn't killed. I hope not anyway. Their music is still awesome, despite what some muppets on here think, and the fact that they were sadly killed just makes the music they left behind even more precious.

  • yes you are right. Apprantly Steven went & lived with Edem's sister . I have seen a pic of him & he is the spiting image of his dad

  • @rikmills Absolutely!!! Funny how it's appreciated more when they're dead, isn't it?! What a ride life can be!! London nights was my fav

  • Mine too dude! Awesome track, awesome band!

  • @wpinklady wow, small world, huh? They must be such proud kids. I wonder if they went into the music profession too

  • yeah i wonder but Edem's nephew Jayme Ephraim is a singer & he was on mySpace

  • Thats sad!

  • How did they die?

  • In a car accident in 1996.

  • s.h.i.t.e.

  • @83Brokenwings

Music these days is just noise and someone yelling something in the mic lol Old music like this vid was way better.

Back then, people sung cos they really wanted to. These days, they do it cos they want to show off

  • i drank champagne with them , they where real cool:9 i still have there photos in ma album ..

  • Damn, this just threw me back all the way to grade seven. We did a dance routine to this, way back when, and I still can't keep my body still after all these years when listening to this.

  • fantastic song, miss the 80's

  • They dont make them like this anymore, lol.

  • London Boys were a German based, British dance pop duo comprising Edem Ephraim (born 1 July 1959, London) and Dennis Fuller (born 19 June 1959, Jamaica), both of whom were killed in an Alpine car accident in Austria on 21 January 1996.

Although they lived near Hamburg, Germany since 1981, they had actually met when they were at school in Greenwich, London.

  • They died in 1996 in a skiing incident. I remember reading about it whilst in 6th form aged 17.

  • deviant diva, ooooooooooooo

  • Great dance sound. It´s the first time I hear them, they are great.

  • Both Edem and Dennis were close friends before they formed the London Boys in 1986 and remained as a band until their tragic end in early 1996. The peak of their success came in 1989 whereby both 'Requiem' and 'London Nights' were massive hit both reaching the UK top 5. Ironically 'Requiem' was a bigger hit in terms of sales despite peaking at no. 4 in May whilst 'London Nights' peaked at no. 2 in July. The '12 Commandments of Dance' was a huge success also peaking at no. 2 in the album charts.

  • A bunch of us studied abroad back in 89 and brought this back to the US. It was never a chart hit but our entire high school knew it. 20 years later the US is still stuck in the Rock/R&B thing while the rest of the world hears everything. So sad but I am happy I still travel and keep myself modern. Thanks Europe!
