  • Great playing! I bought a Twin Amp in the mid 90s---the model that Fender made after the "Red Knob" Twin. Though it sounded great, with or without pedals, it was too much amp for me; even at 25 watts. It also weighed a freakin' ton!

  • Ripper playing, where did you get the backing track?

  • Wonderfully sweet, honey! (and you're amp and playing aren't bad either.. haha!)

  • Congrats great tone! I'm gonna buy a Twin amp and I'd like to know how does it work with pedals. Thank you

  • Very good playing !!

But wich kind of pichups do you have on your strat ???

    Thank's

  • Play it through an extra 2x12 cab or straight into a 4x12 and that extra bass is there...

  • is this tone just the amp ? are you using any pedal ?

    love the sound.

  • @sweetscience85 Just the amp

  • "mighty ball-tearing tone machine" +1

  • Found an old one of these for $400

  • nice!

  • Great amp man, killer tone. Like your playing aswell, you've got some great licks.

    Greetings, Peter

  • @amlahguitar Thanks man! :)

  • Nice amp, killer tone! Love your playing man, you've got some great licks.

    Greetings, Peter

  • I like your style. Filthy as hell, and it's a good thing for your music, methinks.

  • nice blues! this is good but you play this good at the blueshawk all the time

  • hey thanks man, you played really nice the other night. One of your solos was great. Caught our attention :)

  • Good bluesing mate. I got a 1996 Twin Amp, with the two inputs. Can destroy a neighbourhood on 100 watts high output, or backed off to 15 watts just warm your soul with only 2 6L6's on low output.

Only pedals I use are a reissue Ibanez 808 Tube Screamer and antique Cry Baby Wah.

  • you look like mike rowe! holy crap! haha. nice playing dude. lefty.

  • Like SRV a little? ;-)

  • i am in love with mine !!!

the tube tremolo, tube reverb, cleans from pearly gates

the drive channel is def for rock blues kinda thang

but turn the gain up to about 4 or 5, and def can do classic rock

I set my gain about 2-3 & set the volume to 5-6, & found for ME, i found this amp particularly likes the neck pickup then i ROLLBACK guitar vol to around 3-4 for jazzy funk stuff or 5-7 for classic rock

    sorry for the forever post~

    GREAT demo by the way

check out my "silver corn" ditty

  • yeah they are great. just a little too heavy hehe

  • very good demo,thanks

    Nice amp

  • cheers man

  • I also use this same amp and if you want to take it to a new level with complete transparency you need to try one of my Bardel Pedal Stage 3 Boosters.

Just google Bardel Pedals! You can thank me later!!

  • Nice job dude, I got this amp as well.

    great vintage tones.

    peace jry

  • Great sounds and playing.

I have Twin reverb from 1975 and Fender plus from 1989 andatch great together.

  • Great Tone and Playing!!!!!!

  • thanks! :)

  • Finally someone with a 100w Twin puts up a review, I have the same amp, clean is to die for, money well spent. ( and ive only played it on the 25w mode)

  • holy shit TORY FROM MYTHBUSTERS PLAYRS GUITAR

  • ROFL!!

  • Cool!

I'm considering buying one of those... Never played any though...

I expect the clean channel to sound like a twin reverb, no distortion at all...

What about the drive channel? Can you get clean sounds and break up when playing harder? Is it responsive?

    Thanks!

  • hey man,

Yeah the clean is the same as any twin i've heard friggin loud and clean with no break up. It breaks up a little on 1/4 power mode but that's it. On 100 watt mode it's just loud haha.

The drive channel is the best fender drive channel I've heard. It's super chuggy at decent volumes, is a big round tone rather than the shitty drive channels on a deluxe or deville. This demo is on the drive channel :) Hope this helps.

    Shane

  • Thanks!

I like to play clear, or in that point where playing soft gives a clean sound, and playing harder it breaks and you get a mild distortion... That is what I expect from the drive channel...

This amp really has top features, like biasing, and 25watt mode... But not too much reviews in the net about it...

Still have to decide between this and super sonic...

  • I did some A/B tests vs the supersonic this thing kills it. The only advantage of the supersonic is if you like the burn/drive channel otherwise it doesn't compare in my opinion :)

  • Have never played any of them...

Just want to have the fender clean sound, and have the chance to break up a little bit without plugin the tube screamer, and that amps seem to be the options...

I really like the idea of the 2x12 more than 1x12 too.... Hope to get bottom end...

(I would take head + closed cabinet, if it wasn't because it is not practical at all when moving it...)

    Many thanks.

    Great playing!

    Keep the blues alive!

  • Hi man, love the riff of your play, however i do have the same amp but it seems like i just can't get much tone from it. Mind telling me what are your settings?

  • I turn the drive up till it gets kind of chuggy at whatever volume I'm playing at and that's it. I usually have the bass up and mids back to about half. Turn the treble back as well no higher than 5

  • where do all those friggin classic insane blues soul licks come from. i see 'em everywhere. there good. like in the A blues, the D part - the lick - u kno wut i mean aneeone? hea.

  • its playing a major lick over the chord changes. :)

  • Nice demo dude! I own one of these -- my main amp -- bought it 3 years ago. Absolutely unbelievable. I use the speakers in it when I want a Fender tone, or plug it into a Fender 4x12 bottom (closed back) when I want a Marshall-like sound. Love the 25 Watt switch as I can have the sound, my ear drums, keep my wife around and keep my neighbors happy all at the same time.

  • hey vanhalen,

i can answer, i have same amp

    it has 12 tubes (4 - 6l6's, 7 -12ax7's, and 1 at7)

tube driven tremolo, tube driven reverb

the amp is called "Pro-Tube Twin" - it is a beast!

if i won the lottery, i would buy a few more and keep one in my car - VERY heavy,,,But worth every pound

  • hows the clean channel on that? and is it all tube?

  • sweet tone

  • Man that sounds so good love the amp, here in Australia there so expensive.

  • Man that sounds so good love the amp, here in Australia there so expensive.

  • I have this amp sounds really nice, but should I get a twin reverb instead? I usually use the clean channel and then add some effects, like distortion, chorus etc? plz let me know because I'm selling my twin amp on ebay, and I want to know if I'm making the right choice.

    thanks.

  • Hi,

The twin amp is great, the drive channel is awesome and the clean channel (i doubt) will be any different to the Twin Reverb, because essentially it's the same amp. In 10 years the twin amp should be a modern classic in my opinion.

  • Nice playing man! smszing tone too!! Í have the same amp (pro-tube twin amp) but I can´t get your sound. Are you using the gain channel? (how much gain?)

  • Just the overdrive channel. I think the amp was on 25 watts as well. Can't remember really sorry, just turn it up the drive till it gets chuggy. :)

  • is the they highway one strat?

    Great playing by the way..

  • yep it is a modified Highway strat :)

  • NIIICEE!!! whats the amp configuration? which pickup are you using?

  • fender noiseless pickups. 25 watt mode on the fender twin

  • Nice playing, Sparky. Better than the usual You Tube garbage.

  • Cheers dude :)

  • are the pickups mod shop or jeff beck design?

  • jeff beck

  • keep up the good work man, got skillz

  • what kind of pickups do you have? stock, texas special?

  • Fender noiseless - I used to have a guitar with texas specials but I didn't like them a whole lot.

  • nice bro-

    Pro-Tube Twin

  • Dude! A Fine sounding amp indeed, and you've got some Serious chops! Superb work, man.

  • Thanks man, most appreciated

  • Thanks for the nice comments mate! :)

  • Wow very nice. I think I like this amp.

  • I have a video up with it used live. I think it's called "Start it up" or something like that. Great amp.

  • and by the way, we got the same guitar! mine's made in japan though. same headstock size. cheers

  • the leftys will soon rule the world! nice licks there mate

  • finally!.....another lefty....go 4 yours!!!

  • lefties unite!

  • WOW i just bought one of these amps and love it, though i haven't found that tone. do you mind telling my where you tone settings are?

  • Turn up the bass, keep the mids around 4-5 and use very little tops.

  • are you really left handed, or is the image in reverse.

also, great tone, and more importantly, great playing!!

  • Im a lefty :)

  • would u recomend this over twin reverb??

  • Can't really say. if you only want one channel the twin reverb might be the choice. If you want more than that, go for this.

  • thanks

  • very cool & relax fingering! great tone btw!

  • thanks mate :)

  • Nice, thanks for the demo. Hoping to get one soon.

  • And people sa you can't break up a Twin.

  • Well, that's because it's very hard. This is NOT a Twin. It's a Twin Amp, a modern dual channel Fender with real gain and so on...

  • I see.

  • Awesome playing them Blues, Shane!

    Real sweet sounding Twin, brother!

And, I like that bluesy soul patch, too.

Very hip, dude... just like Stevie Ray!

    Stu

  • Nice! Have you tried it with a distortion pedal or anything? I'm looking for a nice fender clean but ocassionally wanna rock out with a stomp box!

  • It sounds great with both my behringer and voodoo labs overdrive pedals :)

  • Thanks for taking the time to reply.

  • that was pretty sweet jw how do these compare in weight with the hot rod series amps

  • I think they are 5x nicer. They have a different sound - more vintage but not that tweed style sound. It's still big but not as glassy as the Hot rod amps. :) I have a Deville Hot Rod Amp, I'll do a comparison video one day.

  • excellent my man, what peddels were you using and what was the settings on your amp for that wonderful tone.

  • Just rolled the tops down and the drive up till it got chuggy :)

  • Sorry I forgot to mention. There are no pedals connected :)

  • I'll have some new live clips of the 335 and the "The Twin" amp up in the next 24 hours :) Stay tuned! :)

  • Good amp Shane, but as usual the tone is really comming from your fingers! Great playing, you really have soul!

  • thanks man :) I'm really happy with this amp.

  • cool!

  • Great tone and playing!

  • Thanks man :) Most appreciated
