I really don't think this shark was trying to attack the cage. You can see that when the shark bites the bait, a protective layer goes over its eyes. Of course this means the shark can't see, and since the cage was poorly positioned, the shark didn't know it was heading straight for the cage. When the shark is stuck, all it does is thrash its head sideways, to create a big enough gap for it to escape. This incident cannot be called a shark attack. The people were never in danger of dying.
