This is the best explanation for bisexuality and is the reality for many guys. I'm so glad to see that a show finally decided to cover this neglected concept.
I'm glad they did it this way. Normally Bi people are shown as being either really promiscuous or start dating a guy and then never go out with another girl ever again. Finally a boy who is bi is in love with a girl, happens all the time yet people never show it.

if you are bisexual then you can find a girl that you are actually attracted to then fall in love with her - its so much easier for bisexuals to fit in being gay is probably the hardest thing because there is no way to fit in and be happy at the same time
the story is interesting though and i hope they explore his bisexuality more
@iamawesome1001 It's easier to be gay than bi because a lot of straight people and gays hate people who are bi. If you are 100% gay, you at least know that other gay people will accept you. On the other hand, bisexuals often get told by gays and straights alike that they're just being greedy, or they're confused, or just doing it for the attention. A lot of people on both sides of the spectrum don't understand how someone could be attracted to both genders, so they call bisexuals liars.
I know this kind of storyline... The guy said he's bi but in a few episodes he will end up with a girl and be straight for the rest of the show. SO typical... Hate this kind of thing.

@MegaDan3D In terms of the telly series, I agree, it makes more sense to "show" the bisexuality in a monogamous way, or he could be with a guy, then brake up and be with a girl LOL! or viceversa, but then it will "show" that bis can't stay in long term relationships, who is obviously not the case.
In spite of the bad acting, it's awesome seeing a realistic bisexual coming out story on TV! Especially with a bi man. So many people think that only women can be bi, and I don't understand it :/
i think this shows what bisexual men go through, a lot of women don't like dating bi guys even bi girls. i'm a bi woman and i feel his pain deeply! i love that they are showing this, its awesome. i think his friends reaction at first was wrong, but then he listened which is the best thing you could do to a bi friend or any friend that's coming out! there are times when i feel that coming out gay would be easier mainly b/c people wouldn't question it, especially my family. i am who i am and proud

It was cute, but i've watched this kind of storyline on so many shows long enough to understand how this is going to turn out. He will be with girls, he may kiss a few guys at parties, but that will be just it.

He'll just be an implied bisexual like Gossip Girl's Chuck - who only kissed on guy in the entire series, last season, and then relieved he had already kissed guys, although he never kissed one again. I think i will be kind of like that.
i loved the way Austin reacted. It wasn't over the top or filled with anger or digust. Shock and suprise yes, but he approached very calm and level-headed....why can't more people do that? )=
